- We asked for your questions, and we got some REALLY good ones to answer! What to think about when you wanna get started homesteading? What if you bite off more than you can chew? How do we organize everything? Why did we change our channel name? Do negative comments bother us? That's just a sample...

I learned recently that the bees wings make a sound of middle C. If you have headaches or depression, sit by the bee hive and listen to them. It will cure you. My brother had a concussion from a car wreck. He had headaches for over a year. He sat out on his deck and bees started coming around. He drank his coffee and listened to the bees. He built a hive. His headaches are gone. God knew what he needed. Hope this helps anyone needing it.
This is beautiful
I love being in my garden when all of the bumble bees are around me.
Cool
So cool to know!
Wow, that’s amazing! God is so creative 😊
I can’t imagine what negative thing anyone would say about Michelle! She is so beautiful and has so much knowledge about gardening and preserving food for someone so young! She is amazing.
Codi here and i agree 😉
I live in an apartment ground floor. I have a patio that gets zero sun. So i made 3 garden beds out of 3 wagons, and every morning i wheeled my wagons to the sun.I had tomatoes bell peppers, lemon cucumbers, lettuce and herbs... I loved it! Cant wait to do it again.
That is so cool! That is the true spirit of homesteading 😊 Keep at it!
Bless you! I can’t believe people would be rude about your appearance! Two beautiful people inside and out. It’s so refreshing to see a beautiful woman not hide her beauty behind ridiculous make up and acrylic nails. Like Michelle says people can only hurt you if you let them. You are so mature in your attitude. I’m much older than both of you but I find I’m inspired by you.
Perfectly said! This channel is not about the side swipe perfect hair-it's just HELPFUL ADVICE!
You two are so sweet & helpful. Ignore the rude comments. Remember those are from people who are unhappy & projecting
Hello. Tried watching other Homestead channels and it was all “beauty shots” of overly manicured landscaped gardens. They were pretty, but didn’t see the message. Your channel is real and gives me a view of something that everyday folks can achieve. The message is front and center. You’re trying to help people, not show off. SO glad I found this channel. Bless you,
Thank you 😊 Glad you’re here!
Possible crazy question,… Do chickens eat squash bugs?
The probably would. But if we put em in the garden they’d probably eat the veggies too 😊
If I'm being honest, when I first came across your channel I didn't think you'd last. Farming is hard. You are young and have children. Fast forward, you've proven that with goals, planning and an epic work ethic, anything is possible.
Wishing you continued success in the new year.
Becoming a Farm Girl- is a lady that live in a townhouse and grows and preserves so much food from her food towers on her patio and buying bulk on sale items. Your so right- you can homestead where ever you are.. Love to watch your channel.🎉
You guys are such a good team, stay that way and keep on respecting each other, first of all you are parents with huge responsibilities and don’t let negative comments hurt you, you are a strong team. Greetings from Germany.
How can people say Michele looks bad?!? She’s a natural beauty!!!
Some dumb people out there 😏
Putting restrictions on “play areas” is a game changer when it comes to clutter in your home. Plus, it’s another way to teach responsibility and boundaries. Michelle, I would love to meet your parents. You are so kind, wise, and knowledgeable yet so young. You both are such a blessing , thanks for passing on your great attitude and experience. Y’all got it figured out. ❤️🙏
Thank you for sharing about Seeds of Grace Ministry. I live in Springfield and this is the first time I have heard of them.
I don't understand how anybody could give a negative comment about your looks. Those people are jealous!!! You're beautiful!!!
I love the flow if your channel. Not sure if you took classes on camera work but yours is so different from anything else I’ve seen. It all looks so professional the way it flows between the two if you.. congratulations on your success. 👍
Thanks! No classes.. I probably should 😂 Just a heck of a lot hours making videos and watching other RUclips videos 😉
I hope you will keep us updated on how the Seeds of Grace donations went after you mentioned it on your video. I hope they received a lot of donations :)
We think a lot alike, Michelle. I am a BIG systems maker and love simplicity/minimalism. I have 7 kids (8th on the way) and have had the same systems in place for about 5 years because they work so effectively. We do laundry once a week for all of the kids but my older who is 18 and does her own laundry on her own time. About ten years ago I simplified the kids’ clothes to only have about a week’s worth available. I’ve never looked back ❤️.
That's great! Only way to keep on top!
Absolutely! For about 3 1/2 years we lived in a travel trailer, so the fact that we’d reduced our possessions helped ease that transition SO much.
Just came across your channel recently and am enjoying your videos! My husband has a RUclips channel, kens karpentry and he is currently at 190,000 subscribers. We understand all the time and work you have to put into consistently posting videos. Your content is so great and your attitudes are so inspiring that I believe your channel is going to continue to grow well. Praying for the Lord's abundant blessings on you and your family as you continue to teach others as you share your lives with other. I sensed from the moment that I began watching your channel that you were believers because of the joy and peace that seems to come across. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! Glad to have some empathy 😊 Great job with his channel!
Seriously, you two are my favorite RUclipsrs and possibly my favorite people outside of my family. So down to earth and sincere.
Awwww, that means a lot, Allison!
Love the honesty and transparency from you guys. ❤️ no need for a show or acting fake, just yourselves 💗 and seriously Michelle, you dont need anyone to tell you this, but you dont need make up any time - God made you beautiful as you are, sister!
Thank you so much 😊
My #1 truth bomb I tell people about having any animals is
If you have livestock, you will have dead-stock…
It’s a sad reality so you need to be prepared for those losses❤
Hello from southwest PA…I just found your channel after Michelle did the podcast with Lisa. I’ve been going back and watching a lot of your videos and am already so appreciative of your content! It feels very practical and relatable! My husband and I also began homesteading for the lifestyle it would give our kids and also to do our part in good stewardship of what God gave us. Looking forward to future videos and being a part of your community!
That’s great! Glad you’re here 😊
I've been following you for about six months now and you have inspired me to get into vegetable gardening ❤ I now have growing tomatoes, zucchini, pumpkins, onions, side sprouting broccoli, carrots, potatoes, corn, lettuce, capsicum and corn. It's so rewarding picking veges from my garden! So thank you for all your hard work and sharing your life with everyone 🍅🥦🥒🌽🥕🥬🧅
That’s awesome! Glad to hear that 😊 Keep it up!
I'm newer to you, but dealing with home stuff and missed this, but I'm here now. I love your content, you are VERY inspiring just so you know plus I am blessed to have my friend from my youth job & coincidentally she lives behind me and walks here to take care of my bunnies and plants if we travel 2 weeks. I am so lucky! Just know we appreciate you! BTW I have been hugely productive this 2 weeks trying many of your ideas. Thank you!!! Take care, Fran
Thank you so much 😊
The fact you don’t go on about your religious convictions but when something means so much to you, you remember to thank your God as well as your partner for what ever you’ve been blessed with, I’m a man without religion (don’t feel sorry for me, it’s by choice). Because I don’t celebrate the Xmas holidays in the same way you do, but I will wish you seasons Greetings which I believe is appropriate.
You both do great things in your vlogs and I believe 2024 will be a bumper year for you, And Cody Make some good old fashioned strong mouth puckering English cheddar cheese.
Thank you so much 😊 We’re glad you’re here! I’ll get to workin on that cheese 😊
Hello from saudi arabia ,
I started gardening after watching your videos
you're my inspiration
That’s so awesome! Thank you for sharing that. Keep it up 😊
I am watching from Cape Town South Africa, so love your videos, I keep watching a few videos a day. I usually tire of certain channels but yours are so well done and I love the family vibe, love Michelle 's minimalist way of life and the amazing way you raise your beautiful children. They look happy and well adjusted. Love you guys!
Thank you so much!!
Aussie here. I love my pigs. Raising tamworths. Old school breed. Well suitable to free range / outside production. Know how to care for their young unlike commercial breeds, hence why they use farrowing crates.
But yes animals means home constantly.

Hi Codi and Michelle, and your beautiful family❤
I am new to watching and absolutely love to watch everything about your homestead. I, too, have done a lot of home canning over the years.
Thank you for sharing!
Miss Daisy, TRF, Mn.
Welcome here! 😊
I’m new. Saw you on Lisa’s channel. Love it and happy to see you are Christians. From Ontario Canada
Welcome here! 😊
I really appreciate the balanced and realistic perspective from you guys. Thank you
I love that you mentioned the importance self-care for men! Society tends to promote "one over another" in a lot of categories, which only creates division. I notice this all the time. You are setting a wonderful example by promoting self-care for all people.
Yes!!
Cody's looking all clean cut😊
😎
Thank you both for all your wonderful vodeos and livestreams, and precious giving hearts. Many blessinga to you and yours.
I made a note on 6-1-23, 1:23 PM, with 9.92 subscribers. Now look at you. So proud of you. I love that you get right to the point, and I love your content! Some channels that I used to watch take 30 minutes before they get to what their vlog is about. Watching from Texas.
Thank you so much! And thanks for sticking with us 😊
Would love to know more about your cold room. Measurements, air intake and outflow, etc…

If using pine for raised bed get a torch and char the boards it will help seal the wood and last longer.
Hi from Perth Western Australia 🇦🇺
Absolutely love your content, and your beautiful family. I have gone back and watched from the start and slowly catching up! While bingeing your vids, hubby has become hooked on your vids too lol. We cant wait to start our journey here in Aus. Keep all the amazing information coming, you are such an asset to so many people, especially us! Much love to your family ❤❤
That's awesome! Good luck 😊
I know Codi was kidding, but I just wanted to say it's not fair to characterize her as "ruthless" when it comes to kids toys and keeping them in check. When you have too much of a good thing, it becomes just "stuff" with little meaning. Conspicuous consumption is part of what holds us down and back from being grateful for the important things in life. I applaud you, Michelle:-) Less is MORE. I created a semi annual purge in our house. We had a keep, trash and donate pile...well, not so much a pile as a mound if I was doing it right. Too, books were our big ask or savings bonds (old fashioned, but gratifying years later when cars were needed!). Sadly, we're now giving up physical books as well, though some we'll always keep.
You're right! We've found it's a journey too. We get better and better at it 😊
Hello Codi and Michelle, you two are my favorite to watch. I just recently found you and I have already watch all your videos and now just on replay everyday. It’s crazy how we all want to know everything about you and your family thank you for sharing your life with us. God has blessed you both. I love that you’re happy with what you have and what you have works. Have a super great day, lisa
Thanks Lisa!
Remind beginners that they can scale back but as they learn skills they can build back. There is a learning curve.
I know this is unrelated, but this is prophetic for me. Loving and being submitted to Jesus has been my dream and its been the hardest most difficult thing, and ive just been discouraged. The Lord used just the title to touch me. TY
Watched my FIRST VIDEO TODAY lol and started to binge (ok 3 episodes) even though I’m in central florida I will be able to learn so much from your channel! I appreciate all the work that this entails to make a video! I hope in the end it’s rewarding for you because it definitely is for us watching.
That’s awesome! Welcome here!
I just wanted to say yall look so good! I've been binging your videos and assumed this was an old video because yall look so young and skinny! To my surprise it was 3 weeks ago! Loving your channel and dreaming of someday having my own huge garden and mini homestead!
Haha that's great 😂 Thank you 😊
Self care - I do 30 arm curls holding tins of beans while the kettle boils, then I do 30 squats and 30 tip toe raises while the tea brews Helps me wake helps my muscles stretch etc
God bless y’all!
I’m in Australia and am 53 but watching you younger guys has given me the confidence to just get in there and keep growing. This year we’ve had so much rain that my vegetable garden in really struggling, bring along being summer and the humidity that follows its been just yuck! I had issues with my potatoes here in Australia too this year. In the last few days I have dug up all of my potatoes and found that my seed potato that I ordered in from Tasmania all had weird chew marks and some type of bug damage. The potatoes that I grew from my stored potatoes from last year did way better. Thankyou for your videos it’s wonderful to watch. I had to jump off the live as it had finally stopped raining so that I could go and pull some weeds but I jumped back on and watched from the beginning all the way to the end. Merry Christmas and wishing you and your family a very productive and prosperous New Year :)
So glad to hear we’ve inspired you! Keep growing 😊 Thanks for joining us! Happy New Year!
Love watching your family work together!
I love you guys. May God bless you.
I am in awe of both of you. Wow. ❤
Michalle , you are such a beautiful woman!!!
I love you guys❤️
From Córdoba,Spain! Love watching you!
Just watched this one. Great questions and your answers are very helpful as we make some major adjustments in 2024. We’re looking forward to more updates from y’all. 😊
Your videos are very real. I love what you do. In most case RUclips has videos which are unrealistic that when you try them you don't get the same or close results. Keep it up.
You both are beautiful and awesome people who work really hard, love your videos, wishing you and your family all the very best in the coming New Year 2024.🥳
Happy, Happy New Year's!! From my family to yours!! From Delaware!!
Watched post live from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Loved the live and sharing all of your knowledge. I'm looking forward to learning about and supporting Seeds of Grace in the future.
Happy new year😊
I so appreciate how you make homesteading so practical and understandable. I absolutely love your RUclips channel. Please keep up the great videos and work!!
I missed this! I am sad…would’ve been fun to be live with you! This was great to watch, you guys are so fun…good luck in everything you do! Soooo looking forward to next year to see all that you do, and what I can learn and use in my little plot in So Cal. Thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🤗🤗🥰
Love watching and learning from your channel ❤. Trena from Florida
Greetings again from Saskatchewan. Thank you sharing all that you do. It is and has been very informative. A great learning guide for many homesteaders. You were saying it was difficult to come up with ideas for new videos as in winter time you are not gardening or harvesting. For myself I am always busy with updating and maintaining and organizing our tools, machines and buildings.....at least what we are capable of doing in the winter time. Perhaps you have some other amazing projects people could build in preparation of the spring. I really enjoyed the hay feeder. That was a relatively simple project and saved a lot of money. Money saving ideas are truly important for beginning homesteaders. You emphasized that a few times with your barn building for Maddie. We have used the local online auction to pick up a lot of great tools for a very reasonable price and perhaps there is one your area as well. Beginning homesteaders can create a nice collection of necessary tools for far less than retail. Anyway keep up the great work.
Thanks for the ideas 😊 You are right about finding the used deals. We did that for almost everything.
No problem. Another tip I was thinking of was a show about animal feed prepping. Just before Christmas we had our supplier run out of chicken feed and cow grains. It took them some time to get supplies back in. I have almost always enough for at least a month to 6 weeks ahead. I need to get better system of storing more for fall/winter as the weather can also keep you home. We are blessed living in a grain region so neighbors can always help me out. This is why community building skills is another important topic you may want to do a show on. My neighbor was very helpful when my cow got sick. Knowing your local traveling vet is another key importance when you have situations that get out of hand. Having an emergency budget as well for unknown and unexpected costs. Anyway love the show. Good luck in the spring preparations.@@morethanfarmers
You have great tips. Thanks!

Wishing a Happy New Year.
Love and Peace

Sorry I missed your live! Merry Christmas and happy new year to your family!
Love that you simplify your lifestyle through experience :that's intelligent!!
Im so happy for you both...thaT you are finally able to reach the point of being able to work full time on your homestead! I worried that you were pushing yourselves too hard. But now it feels like a weight has been lifted. I cant imagine the weight you must feel lifted. Love ❤your darling little family and love❤ your channel! May 2024 be an amazing year for you all!🥰😘
Thank you so much! A weight has definitely been lifted 😊

I used to put some of the kids toys away in a box and then rotate out every few months . They thought they had new toys again when they were little.
So Nice to get to know you better😃
Missed the live…… love your channel. Signing in from Maine.
I really appreciate you not talking about your religion because I hate religion and as far as I’m concerned religion is the worst thing in the world and the cause for most of the problems. I love your videos and enjoyed this one too. Not able to catch them live as they are in the middle of the night for me here in Australia. I love your videos so much as I am severely disabled but a farm girl heart and soul so thank you for sharing your experiences for those of us who are unable to experience it ourselves.
You’re very welcome! We don’t believe “religion” is the answer.. we only want the love that Jesus shows us to show through to others.
You too are one of the couple I ever watch🎉❤😊
From Philippines
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year….just wanted on catch up …really good just started following so been watching other videos…..Elaine from Scotland
had to catch the live this morning, but it was really great! Than you! Funny you mention the slow down in December because I feel like this is the only time I actually have time to watch fellow channels! :p
Hi, watching from our homestead Bulgaria.
Thank you for this live! It was a joy to watch. I'm new to your channel since the Farmhouse on boone's podcast Michelle was in and I've binge all the video's since. I can't get enough and I love what your doing. Keep it up 🥰
Glad you’re here! 😊
Pallet wood for the raised beds works well
It would rot pretty quickly.
I went back and watched every video. I think I finished all of your videos within 2 weeks of finding you. Good luck to you in the future!
Haha wow that’s awesome!
Didn't get to comment during live broadcast. Internet here is bas today due to snow - but love all the advice you gave - it helps me get things started to become more self-sufficient & not rely on grocery stores.
Great family love watching you both you are both hard-working couple I’m so happy for you leave your job Hoppy now year 2024
good luck to all the family ❤❤
Hello yall love your channel
I'm so bummed that I missed your live but I was working. I actually live in the city while we get our property built up and ready. I have a fairly decent sized garden and grow quite a bit of our vegetables. I also raise chickens and rabbits. You can totally homestead to an extent wherever you are.
I'm from San Antonio, Texas!😊
Everything in life take effort- everything. Enjoy what you do and enjoy your life. Remember, there is always tomorrow to take care of things. Don’t get burnt out - the sun will again come up tomorrow.
Hi from Fiji. Just caught up post live ...nice. 👍
