My brother was locked up here during Katrina. It was pure hell. He was starved, left to drown, in extreme heat. Sad noone got justice for what the City did.
I Made A Few YT Videos Exploring Other Abandoned Buildings In New Orleans. But I Was Never Able To Explore The Abandoned New Orleans Prison That Place Is Way To Close To The Newer Police Department And Their Police Cars Parked Near That Abandoned Prison All The Time Whenever I Drive Past That Place.
I worked in the CCC building as a sheriff's deputy in the mid 90's. This HOD building was deplorable even back then. I'm thankful I wasn't assigned to this facility.
This is a sad, depressing and creepy place y’all found. People actually live there?!? Nope for me, even in the broad day light I think I would have to pass. Glad you went there for me!😁
Guys take mace a Taser and I hate to say it a gun.Drug dealers could be cooking meth or other drugs. Then you have the homeless some mentally ill, others are addicts. You don't know who is in there, forget ghosts.
That people can live across thst scary big ass prison brrrr😱😱 or even close by. For sure people see hear or having some creepy experience by day night all day everyday. I just looked up on Google Earth even on that its looking like a scary building. But hey watching your video safe from Amsterdam the Nederlands in my bed 😂
I worked there when I was 19 in 1981 or 82. That brought back memories. The room with the windows and the scale on the wall was the lineup room. Witnesses were brought in to view lineups. House of D 7th floor was where the homosexual inmates were kept. If an inmate identified as homosexual or was arrested for a male prostitution offense, he would be sent to that floor. Before it closed, there was a story of at least one inmate who would let himself out the building and party in the French Quarter. He even took pictures next to mounted policemen. Thanks for the momories. Did you catually go in the CCC? I'd like to see that. The worst place was OPP. That was a dungeon!
I spent a little time in there when i was 20 yrs old.. im not sure why yall are only carrying mace, i hope its at least the heavy duty police mace that shoots five feet. Id be down to explore further with yall into the old jail and i think yall should have continued forward but i understand yall wasnt prepared for worst case scenarios.. im an amatuer mixed martial artist that comes prepared if yall ever want to explore it more in depth again... thanx for the abandoned new orleans videos
One could reasonably argue that, at least in New Orleans, the high jailed population is less a reflection of our crime rate and more reflective of our incarceration rate. Here, you can be incarcerated for almost anything, including being too poor to pay your fine(s) or swing bail.
@@NOLADEEJ my friend messaged you about it and said you and your group filmed this a year ago so we thought it would be pretty easy to get in but thanks we will try

It's easy for you to say you would not go there, but some people had no choice. Some people were wrongly convicted.
Geez, Deej! That was intense! Now I need my blood pressure meds! 😂
Haha!!
Great vid brother! Scary asf.. glad y’all are safe.
Haha thanks man!! It was a crazy experience for sure!
From Nola and been exploring for a while too, love the vids man

Oh wow! Yeah I heard some were able to get in and out fairly easily there
I did a few service calls at OPP in the 80s and 90s. Pretty crazy place.
@@NOLADEEJ Someone had to let you out. There were too many locked doors and guards to just sneak out.

Thank ya! Yeah we prob should have been more prepared 😂
21:48 Maybe shanks for stabbing people--stored where the guards weren't looking.
I was thinking that too
yo, how do i get in?
The lights if not in cell the hall ones NEVER turn off and was BRIGHT
how do you get in
Not sure anymore, always changes
I love the video bro
Thanks as always buddy!
The toothbrushes was like hooks to hang makeshift curtain / sheet or or laundry bags
Ooh! Ok that makes sense!
over the next 3 yrs im trying to have at least 1 more chance ranch in every state. some range from 100-230 beds
Never got to explore in there due to the fencing. Glad you are okay
It was pretty wild
Nah there was hot water!
I’m glad to hear that at least… still must have been a miserable experience
keep it up your going to 1,2,3,

Very true
Only juveniles painting graffiti on the walls. Nothing to freak out about. 👻
No, they were legit looking for us.. we stumbled upon their little bicycle operation.
Fact that’s right in the greater sheriff complex. Worthless department.
Cell doors/gates are electromechanical
Stealing bikes repainting them
I realize I'm old, but the background sound is so loud it interferes with what they're saying.
Yeah, it was very windy and right next to the interstate and every floor was open, lol. That’s why I subtitled a lot of it
You think me and my group could get in to this day ?
Not sure, way in always changes

Should I get in there and close it? What could possibly go wrong ?🥴😵😵💫
😂😂
gobble gobble, whats out there jr? idk but shes sure a cutie
ABANDONED and Most Dangerous, dont really go hand in hand. Why is every prison always the MOST DANGEROUS.
Because it was considered one of the most dangerous in the country 🤷♂️ and it’s now abandoned 🤷♂️
