- This baked chicken drumsticks and rice is a traditional Albanian dish called 'tave me oriz dhe pule'. It's an easy dish, with so many variations and I have tried to cover some of them in the video.
This is a family friendly meal, it's perfect for meal prepping too!!

My first attempt in making your chicken and rice dish tonight because I always just oven bake the drumsticks on their own and wanted something different. It's a pretty easy recipe to make but I will definitely play around with more spices and add more lemon next time. It was a bit bland for us adults. My kids flat out refused to try (twins 5 years old and toddler) but when I told them that's OK but I'm not making anything else, they gave it a try. One was ok with it the other said the rice was crunchy (need to add more liquid next time.) But overall I'll be making this again. Thank you!👍I served it with a side of steamed vegetables.

I actually did the same dish recently too with a different flavor profile, I used lemon & cilantro and instead of drumsticks I used chicken thighs!!
As per the crunchy part, a little more liquid would work. The baking tray depth might affect baking time and how fast the whole thing takes to cook. If the bottom of the rice is perfect but the top too crunchy, maybe add an aluminum foil to cover towards the end so the steam will remain and soften the top.
