This boy surely can sing, and im so proud of him to continues the band legacy.
Great singer but there will never be another like Jimi. One of the best and most underrated vocalists of all time.

@@foxtrotthree569he can sing I don't know what powerful you are looking for, he can clearly hit the notes so clean without raspy voice... everyone has different tones and ranges... and this kid is different level too... of course you used to hear original and adore them because he sang it first imagine this kid sang it first 😂 some covers are better than original this one is close...

@@adnimotapel4797 but compared to Jimison . Steve is not dedicated to journey for a long long time even if he is still can hit a high notes while Jimison dedicated his life to Survivor and even have a duo with Bickler. So for me they are both nice in different ways. Think about it.

Well, they got a voice that can actually hit the notes. Kudos to the singer, it's not an easy song to sing. If I were him, I might politely ask my boss Frankie Sullivan to stop stepping all over my vocal with impromptu guitar riffs (some of which are just plain out of tune). I might also politely (and privately) ask my boss's son, the drummer, to play exactly what Marc Droubay originally played instead of adding knick-knacks that detract from the song. Everything is just so distracting as this kid is trying to do this song justice on vocals. Peterik wrote a great song here, and Nevison produced it perfectly. It doesn't need to be "improved." Just my opinion. That said, I enjoyed this rendition.

I agree on the part where fs overplays and the drummer comes in times where not necessary.. too much. It's a beautiful song. For me jimi Jamison was and always will be one of the greatest voices that ever was of our time and from survivor , but this kid does a good job holding his own singing search he has a beautiful voice.
@@CherylBattista he left the band while back. I last saw him at jam for jimi in Memphis 2014. I sure miss seeing him play

This kid does have a pretty good voice, but Jimi can't be replaced. Jimi is the voice and will always be the voice of Survivor.

The singer has a very powerful voice. Arnel Pineda's cover of this song I think is better because of Arnel's tone and the raspiness of his voice.

Jimi Jameson and Dave Bickler were/are equally the best! Jimi was beautiful inside/out, but don't forget who the Fore-Father, Lead Singer is! Dave Bickler, also so amazing Male Vocalist! The one that started it all with Survivor, starting with the Debut Album "Survivor". Their 2nd amazing, powerful and resonant Album "Premonition" ... a Rock Classic also. "Poor Man Son", the biggest Hit off that album. Dave, bang-up pro-powerful Vocals on that too. I really enjoy singing that song too. My face as a Teenager. Then the #1 Iconic powerhouse Album, their 3rd Album, :Eye Of The Tiger". I sing all the songs on it too. Just for Vocal Warmups, before I do my own Tunes! To keep this Comment from getting any longer, I praise both Jimi and Dave for their prolific songwriting and powerhouse Vocals, forever! The new kid on the block, has pretty big shoes to fill. I take my Hat off to Cameron Barton for his amazing talent efforts and performance, top notch! Cameron, has greatly improved his Vocals over the past 2 years! He sings a beautiful rendition of "The Search Is Over"! Most of Survivor's songs are very hard to sing. I know at first was hard for me. Now it's a piece of cake! I Love Survivor now and I always will! My favorite Male Influence/Rock Band influence in the worl. For me, as I've been a Singer all my life and Songwriter since 1998.

A few notes off-key through the vocal runs, but better than I expected this to be. Jimi is one singer I would hate to step into the shoes of and be compared to.

Sexy singer.. He sings well but sometimes hes losing breath.However that makes it quite a n exciting to watch since there is rawness in his talent.. Good job..
ive notice that too.in fact the young singer has good singing voice cause he wasnt even distracted with the guitarist struck a wrong chord..
I am of the opinion there could have been better in terms of voice, but they needed someone with the looks I am guessing to market to a younger audience as well. He sings too effortlessly with not enough grit, there isn’t any dynamics like soft or loud so he ends up sounding a bit bland for me. Even the back up singer has more soul.
There's really only one other man who could pull this song off other then jimi and that would be dave just my opinion

Vocals were amazing. Great vibrato too. Something was off on either the drums or the bass. Anyway, once they get that fixed, this is on par with back in the day.

I agree! Unfortunately, I never got to see Jimi perform live so I can't compare, but Cameron does a fine job and he is getting better and better as he hones his craft and stage presence. He had improved a lot in the one year between shows that I saw him singing lead with Survivor.
