A considered and helpful review. Just got this bottle as a birthday present from my partner. She often visits Aldi so, not surprised that it's one otf theirs. Looking forward to tasting it. Thanks again. 👍
Excellent taste and notes; with that umistable peatiness. I’ve got my eye Aldi others now. Thanks for kind comments. Enjoy your Birthday present. ATB Mark.
I also got this as a birthday present. I found the body to be thick and sweet. I agree with spicy. The peat also feels slightly artificial. I'm sure it would be oily but I drop water into mine drams. I enjoy the Aldi ones.
this bottle is now under investigation, when you hear peated from a supermarket you think islay (99.5% of the time a mystery islay will be caol ila) but i heard you say exclusively matured in the highlands so maybe its an ardmore . the awards you see dont carry much weight, i believe the distilleries have to pay to enter the competitions and are mainly to catch the eye of casual whisky shoppers browsing supermarkets. p.s i have just finished a bottle of highland park 12 (40%er) from 2003 (meaning it was distilled in 1991)and it was a delight, different gravy to todays offering. i got it from my bros loft and looking online its going for about 150£ /200£ today..
@@siddfinch-f4q Highland Peak 12; wow nice find; on a different level. Thought as much re the awards doesn’t suprise me. Got my eye On Ardbeg 10 next. ATB Mark. 👍
