I agree with him people simply don’t have to watch. It’s so annoying that people want to cancel things these days it’s like everyone especially the younger generation 29 and down are so freaking sensitive.
This isn't anything new. People used to want to put african americans and gay people in jail for just existing.
Having opinions and voicing it out doesn’t make us “freaking” sensitive.

Re: the issue of “sexual violence”, GAME OF THRONES drew public ire and came under fire very vividly and directly twice during its run. First was when Jaime sexually assaulted Cersei right next to their son Joffrey’s corpse in season 4. The director of that episode tried to justify it by saying that Cersei’s “No”s were simply because of where said scene was taking place. That director, Alex Graves, never worked on the show again after that controversy. The second time the show drew much criticism was after the season 5 episode where Sansa is raped by Ramsey Bolton in front of Theon. A lot of the hate from fans was both because that never happened in the book (not to Sansa at least) and because the camera focused on Theon’s face and reaction which some said made the scene more about Theon and not the horror Sansa was subjected to.
People would have bitched no matter what. If the scene focused on Sansa's suffering they would say it was gratuitous and disgusting

@@amby8719 It would have been better if Ramsay actually treated Sansa well. She was his bride, still a virgin and he had no personal beef with her family. It would have been interesting to see him try to keep impressing her with how he is punishing Reek, a guy who supposedly killed her bros. Also he could start telling her of his plan to kill his father which would play a part in avenging her brother and mother's death. They could be the evil power couple lol. Especially because the show already established that Ramsay was not as impulsive as Joffrey and knew how to play the long game.
I really agree with Jaby on watching a show that clearly has a warning on it's sexual explicit nature and getting worked up
you have to remember jabs: 1. a good comedian can make fun of anything, even if its something they love. its called being unbiased. 2. art is subjective. its a strong good show to you, doesnt mean there arent people who think the total opposite so they could make fun of the wigs, the dialogue, the melodramatic acting, etc etc
The morning after pill is common all around the world not just the US I think most people around the world understood what it meant.

People were outraged by the Sansa Ramsay r*** scene. They threatened to boycott the show and I know of people who literally stopped watching the entire show after that episode.

I don't get the people saying the prophecy didn't get fulfilled since Arya was the one to kill the Night King. The prophecy never said the prince would kill the enemy, it said the prince would unite the country against him. Which is exactly what Jon and Dany did. 🤷♀️
the prophesy was that a targaryan must be seated on the throne to protect westeros from the coming cold, which didnt happen.

Why are some people underrating Daemon as a fighter/warrior? Was Daemon as great as Dragonknight or Daemon Blackfyre. No. And nowhere close to Arthur Dayne and Barristan the Bold as a swordsman. But the Rogue Prince was no scrub fighter.
From what we saw from TV, Daemon has the highest on-screen kill count in S1. One video said he killed 20 or 4x more than Bronn did in S1 and Bronn was the champ for S1 for on-screen kill count. Already had Cole on the ground before turning around too soon and Cole tripped him. Cole is said to have defeated Daemon twice when he was only 20. He won the joust but the duel that was shown on TV is questionable.
Visenya, Daemon, Bloodraven, and Breakspear all wielded Dark Sister and all were very good to excellent fighters. Brynden just preferred his long bow. If you know how Criston dies, you know TV Daemon showed he was excellent at escaping arrows. If you know how Daemon "dies", you'll realize he's the GOAT at *escaping* death.
I personally don't have problems with sex scenes or anything like that in shows (as long they're relevant for the show I'm watching).
There's a line between sexuality and sexualization.
Like,in 'game of thrones' there is many scenes that are actually important for the character development etc. That's sexuality.
But they also used it a little bit too much,so there's a lot of those that wasn't necessary and was in the show only as a eye candy. That's sexualization.
Basically a lot of people in the audience of 'game of thrones' watched the show to see this scenes of sexual violence instead of the story.
The point is:
If that's gonna be the focus of the show,there's an entire different industry when you can do that.
I dont think nudity in game of thrones was really sexualization. Most of the time there wasnt anything eye candy-ish about it.

Also there's tons of scenes with nudes and sex that didn't have any type of relevance and were only excuses to show actresses naked (that's sexualization)
Without even mention the fact that the body of female actresses was shown completely on screen,but the genitals of their male coworkers never... (And that's cause they were always covered on set)
If it's sexuality, they're doing it right, if it's sexualization, they're dipping the show's quality. Either way, don't watch it if u don't like it instead of bitching about it, let people make and watch what they like as long it's legal 🤷♂️

House of the dragon is based on established canon. Game of thrones went down after they had no more books to refer to.
I really enjoyed the first season of House Of The Dragon but it wasn't until I watched the video from The Take on the show and how it compares to GoT that I realized how differently they portray violence (against women) in both shows. Tbh I like it more in HOTD. Maybe it has less of a shock factor (unless you're more shocked at a birth than at a rape), but those scenes (where women have to go through stuff) are done from the perspective of the woman, which is refreshing. (They explained it in a way better way than me, I promise xd)

GRRM is...not very versed in how genetics works.
That's an HBO plot device. Silver hair declares that you are Targaryan without question so they default to that on the show to make it clear to the viewer exactly who is considered Targaryan, even though historically there have been Targaryans who didn't have silver hair (Jon Snow). Of course if someone didn't have silver hair it was usually because their parents weren't related. In the book, Rhaenys has black hair because one of her parents was a Baratheon. It was only when she got older that she got streaks of silver, but on the show she has all silver hair. They really wanted the "Strong" boys to stand out as "other" even though they're still Targaryans.
Funny that they did a reference to Kermit because it seems like The Muppets was GRR's favorite show. Three of the Tully characters who will help The Blacks are named Grover, Elmo and Kermit

@@AutumnOnFire Well since the show has established that there were never a female ruler, that people will never accept it, Rhaenyra fighting to be the Queen is seen as her fighting for the women's rights while Alicent fighting against her is seen as the opposite. I guess.

its good writing. the characters are imperfect and that's what Honest Trailers made fun of. The characters being imperfect was a part of good writing. So, yeah you can make fun of strong shows too.
Regarding the backlash towards the sex, nudity, and violence in Game of Thrones, it's a somewhat complicated matter. At first, Game of Thrones was immensely popular among women. In all my social circles, it was women recommending this show to me when it first came out. They would describe it as a serious cloak and dagger soap opera. However, something happened a year later. The first season of Game of Thrones came out in 2011. In late 2012, the Tropes vs Women project was announced, and Anita Sarkeesian received a lot of harassment from 4chan idiots, so the public narrative shifted rapidly. Suddenly, Game of Thrones was viewed as exploitative, not artistic. In 2014, GamerGate happened. In 2016, Donald "Grab them by the Pussy" Trump was elected US president. As the Game of Thrones seasons went by, they started to reduce the nudity and sex more and more, until there was almost none at all by the end.
All the rape in Game of Thrones got backlash ever since Sansa was raped by Rasmey Bolton and it's why it was toned down in later seasons and in House of The Dragon as a a result. They even got backlash for it doing a comic panel one year. How are you guys just learning about this now?!

I think it was during season 6 or 7 of GoT that the general public started complaining about the overuse of sex scenes and female nudity that felt very gratuitous and the show received some backslash for it
That was one of the better parts of the show
There was some frustration that the nudity was not equal between men and women. So you’ll note lots more make nudity in the later seasons of game of thrones.
There’s also notably much less nudity in season one of house of the dragon
8:31 HOTD based on books and mostly follows the book in other hand GOT isnt canon a lot arcs and characters butchered we didnt see many important characters in the show and not to mention books not finished yet so in the books Arya didnt kill Nights King in fact Arya still in Bravos and Nights King still alive Dany alive too according to prophecy Azor Ahai (prince/princess who was promised) must have Targaryen blood this is not a thing show made... so most likely Jon, Stannis (he has Targaryen blood), Dany and Aegon (Jon's big brother) will kill Nights King or i would say will end long night...

3) Weird is in the eye of the beholder..... Is Incest "weird" when we are told this is how their family has done things since the beginning of time, and they dont shy away from the fact that they do it? Cersei and Jaimes incest is weird, but Targaryen's incest is just their way of life.
4) People just love to find reasons to complain..... If you watch Ramsey or Geoffery for 2 seconds, how do you not expect for them to be committing sexual assault. Mix their evilness with their position of power and its guaranteed. lol People love to acknowledge Sansa being raped as the main point of defending her character growth but then turn around and complain to HBO for sexual violence acts. Where is the reaction to Violent Night
the show is pretty good but they took a story about two flawed, ambitious, morally ambiguous people and turned it into a story about pure good (Rhaenyra) vs pure evil (Aegon) which sucks. They should have kept it balanced instead of trying to get the whole audience to be team black.
