I swear, Donovan was one of the best characters in Mafia III and I loved the DLC where Lincoln helps him take down a rogue CIA asset and former mentor. Almost the first time he started to have doubts about the US Government and connects a bit to the ending regarding the Senator’s connection to JFK’s assassination and how Donovan felt resentment towards that considering the awful things he had done for his country and the President he admired
John Donovan needs to have his own game. He is by far the most interesting character in this game and a fun fact about him is that he decide to put at disposoal all the information regardless of the events that ocurred in New Bordeaux. What happened in Vietnam on the phoenix program and Aldridges rogue CIA asset he didn't gave any informations about it to s SENATE. Donovan is awesome asf ngl
I like that all 3 Mafia games had a shit talking assholes who were the protagonists best friend. Tommy had Paulie. Vito had Joe. And Lincoln had Donovan.
Sal Marcano had Lincoln Clay killed and left for death, but unbeknownst to him, he survived and he did not know what kind of Monster he unleashed. And then enter John Donovan. I love this character: badass attitude, cunning, calculating and ruthless when he has to be.
Even after the new games release, Donovan is still the most entertaining character to observe. Like watching a chicken with its head cut off and it’s amazing.
Ya maybe one of the plots be him hunting down the others responsible for Kennedy's death. And maybe some flash back stuff where we play him back when he served and fought overseas see some of the stuff had to do, give him even more depth than he already has. I mean for me he's my favorite Mafia character outside of Vito Scaletta. 😊🤌 @JustPlayXP
@JustPlayXP ya, maybe like the plot would be he'd hunt down the others responsible for Kennedy's death as well. Maybe some flash back sections where we play as him when he served, show some of the stuff he went through then. Would be interesting, and also show the dark aspects of the conflict in his perception and see more on what made him to who he is now. And he is one of my most favorite Mafia characters outside of Vito Scaletta. 😊
@shadowofsparta4568I dive into his lore ever since about his character. Part of why I love Donovan is that he remembers to me his counterparts versions of him Call of Duty Black ops campaigns that takes place in Cold war. He is like Hudson from BO1 and etc.
Imagine a mission where they tried to kidnap Donovan like if Sal for some reason or Act of God found out Donovan was helping him, and then during the mission you get to play as Donovan like the Venom mission in Spider-Man 2 where we play as Venom instead of Spider-Man that would have been amazing
I like the way you think. Also, Donovan is CRUCIAL in this entire thing because without him, Lincoln doesn't make it. There is a cinematic showing what happens if Donovan dies in one of the missions. The documentary takes place decades before the real one, and the FBI agent says what happens after he dies... a mission making Donovan's survival high priority sound incredible
To the cutscene where Lincoln meets him in Tickfaw. I have to agree with Donovan. I don't understand, why Lincoln is wearing that army jacket, you got people wearing overcoats and such, Cassandra got on either a long dress or a full leather outfit and yet it's supposed to be 100 degrees down there 😂😂 You can see the sweat on everybody's face. 😂😂😂😂
CIA counterinsurgency operation in a major US city. A hell of a story even if the gameplay was not up to par. Donovan isn't even really a character he's just what CIA guys were like. He just becomes detached from reality everything is now filtered through his CIA training for him
There’s a clip missing tho. Its when Donovan introduces Remy Duvall to Lincoln, right after Enzo’s escape. Any chance you could upload an updated version with this missing scene included and less of the cutscenes with Sal Marcano and other people who were just getting wiretapped?
@JustPlayXP Sounds good. If you ever get around to it, try and include them conversations with Donovan as well… such as those while driving or in the Motel. Some golden dialogue there. Oh and huh… if you ever initiate a cutscene, make sure it ain’t raining otherwise the character will look as if they were covered in lube lol… such as in your current video at 43:50 .
At 6:57 i just love how he hates communist so much theres even a poster collection to tear it down, but i mean. Why people want the ussr are back? If they want it back, they can leave the US and just go to Moscow.

Their affiliations especially Vito’s with crime hardly matters. All that matters is Size and training. And Lincoln trumps Vito in both. As you said, Lincoln served with the Special Forces and was one gigantic son of a bitch, it overshadows Vito’s basic training and above average build.
vito has no chance against lincoln , not any one of those character has any chance against lincoln in mafia 3 . consider donovan , well trained special agent , and still even donovan has no chance against lincoln
@eric4678-l6e I always assumed that it was something threatening like “Kill the enemy!” or something similar that the enemy Vietnam soldiers would shout and Donovan got PTSD from it which explained his response when he was woken up by Clay. After a quick search it supposedly means “I’ll kill you” in Vietnamese so I was right in my assumption.

If the DLC is part of the original game. This would be a great game.
Actually do turn the other cheeks really mean walk away from that bad situation
Donovan was crazy lol
but his last line to Lincoln about killing his associates was cold
in end its kill or be killed
I love the dynamic he has with Lincoln, they bounce off each other so well
I like that all 3 Mafia games had a shit talking assholes who were the protagonists best friend.
Tommy had Paulie.
Vito had Joe.
And Lincoln had Donovan.
I love how much of a jerk Donovan is
@skylerb97 CIA love donovan real american citizen🤣 protects the people
And Enzo had Luca
@marvinhernandez7771Enzo and Cesare*

Man Donovan needs his own spin off game or dlc, where we get to play as him.
You're absolutely right, that would be an amazing idea! A spin-off or DLC where we get to play as Donovan would be so cool.

@shadowofsparta4568So I gotta say, I highly recommend to some reading of Mafia 3 plain of jars. It is definetly a great addiction to Donovan's lore.
34:41 he looks like adler here
Lincoln: really?..... Donavon: I have a subscription 😂
Cody Rhodes moving mad
😂😂😂
It's almost hard to believe that all of this was made up.
Well I think some of it was based in reality in terms of JFK.
@thejanitor3263 and the Dixie mafia
3:56 he cant say a word; just hesitantly agrees silently, for now
We all need a friend like Donovan.
Gotta love Donovan. Thx for this, pal…. the only similar video on You Tube was a 40 min. low quality one.
15:58 Paulie: HEY GENIUS! Get your head outta your ass!
Donovan was my favorite character besides Lincoln.
Mafia 3 has a fantastic story it just kinda sucks that the gameplay can be repetitive or glitchy.
The stereotype CIA pyscopath with no regard for the Geneva convention
The best type of person to have your back

Honestly they gotta bring bro back a hell of a character one if the best in the series imo 💯

From what my grandfather told me those jackets aren't as bad as you think.
@LordOfPastawere they leather? Lincoln's looks leather but that could just be the graphics.
@doowopsoprano9867theyre basically raincoats, you can see the glow sometimes

You're damn right. I'm planning to replay the game and create a variety of new videos based on its cutscenes.
@JustPlayXP Sounds good. If you ever get around to it, try and include them conversations with Donovan as well… such as those while driving or in the Motel. Some golden dialogue there.

How many of you knows Donovan actor? Did you know the same actor did John snow in the throne of spades? Like if you know that!
Throne of Spades?? Huh????
@josephpercy8772 yep 👍🏻
I suspected John Snow was a Fed, but not THE FED Johnny D. 😂

@eric4678-l6e it doesn’t mean anything, Lincoln was imitating an NVA soldier.
@eric4678-l6eHell if I know

Marshall is an underrated character
Came in out of nowhere, asserted dominance, left. A fantastic guy.
