“Character model limit” is what’s killing your graphic performance more than anything in those large events. Reduce it to “lowest” and that should really help!
Seriously it's amazing exactly how old a computer system can be and still run it 'fine'. I had a "Black Friday Special" from over ten years ago which was running it okay. (I have since upgraded.)
While I love how nice the community for this game is, sometimes players can almost be too helpful. I'll explain. xD I would not be surprised if over time you get showered with in-game items and tips and suggestions for how you should play. And while they do it just to be nice and help, it can sometimes be too much and overwhelming for new players. And the helpful players often forget how much it is to take in for new players. It is no rush to get anywhere so I hope you can take the time you want and play how you want. Help is great when you want it and I love how helpful and nice this community is. But yeah, just a heads up. x) In the end, you know best how you enjoy this expereince and you decide how you play. Just know that if you ever feel like you get more help than you want or just many opinions on how you should play, that is normal and happens to many in this game. Anyway. It is lovely to see new players enjoy their time with the game and I hope you keep having fun with it. :)
What a truthful comment. People get really excited about helping others in this game, and I don't think people stop to think about what you just described. I've watched other new players (streamers) who just got showered with so much advice and gifts, that I honestly feel like it marred the experience for them in the end. So this is definitely a really important thing to keep in mind
@@jhmi7877 Yes. To be honest I used to be like that myself. I only started to realize the problem after meeting new players so many times over years. And then I remembered how I played at the start. It was not "playing well" in any way and I understood only like 5% of how eveything worked in the game. But I absolutely loved it anyway. I learned stuff at my own pace and I want others to have that chance as well.
Great to see you back playing GW2! Don't worry about the graphics, your enthusiasm and enjoyment is what brings us here...play the game however you want to play it. Someone mentioned that on over-helpful community can sometimes be detrimental to your early game experience (and I agree), but a quick tip that you may not have had, is: In your inventory, at the top right is a small icon with an arrow. If you press this, all of your crafting materials will be placed in your bank, clearing space in your bags. You can find bank NPC's in some towns and cities. Anyway, glad you're still enjoying the game. Looking forward to your next video!
I would love to continue watching your adventures through the story and discovering everything in Guild Wars. It's refreshing seeing a new player going through Tyria and it's wonders.
When you're next in your inventory, try clicking on that box with an arrow in it! It'll clear up a lot of space by sending materials to a material storage, one of the best basic features of GW2 imo :) Excited to see your 'wolf beast creature' (Charr) when you do make one! Love charr.
The F1 skill is your Profession mechanics. for necro when you press it will replace your HP with that green bar as a 2nd health bar but slowly drain over time. but you also get a 33% damage reduction (while in shroud) and skills that are only in shroud. when out side of shroud when things die you get life force and some of your weapon skills will give you life force as well but not all weapons. also another thing to note in your inventory you can click that box with an arrow pointing down and it will send all crafting mats to your bank you can store up to 250 of every crafting mat. if you need to find your mats again go to any banker and on the left side of the panel click the icon with the 6 dots. hope this helps and enjoy the game C: be well < 3
You're totally valid for liking the bloom, I've been playing for over a decade and never minded it. They only recently added the option for turning it off, but I feel like there's plenty of places where the game looks better with it on
you're such a perfect fit for this game, you're curious and get immerse in littlest things and this game boast its exploration more than any MMOs out rn, couldn't be a more perfect combo lol
it's so peaceful to hear you laugh, i love it when you greet all the players even though some players are too busy doing their things, i hope you find your home in here, welcome to GW2!!

I can watch your gw2 lets play all day long your voice is so soothing and you experience the mmo how it is supposed to be played. Thank you for the video (:
Honestly I'm enjoying seeing you just enjoy the game as you explore and learn about it. So if you want to play more of the story, or explore or whatever, that's the best part. Also there is a lot of inventory-filling items that they want you to hold on to, stuff like the proofs of legend and black lion statues can be thrown in your bank till you need them. ALSO if you haven't found it, in your inventory is a button for "deposit all materials" which sends all your crafting materials to your bank which saves a lot of inventory space. Last small tip, in the settings somewhere is an option you change so when you loot one enemy it grabs the loot from all the nearby enemies so you don't have to stop at each body. It's the small quality of life stuff that ArenaNet added that I appreciate so much.
I love your enthusiasm. It was really cute Also as an advice, to handle many people on events make the Character Model Limit to lowest in options. No need really to down all graphic options
Good tip. 🙂 Another thing to do is toggle player names off in the settings. That usually also helps struggling computers during world bosses. The names can still be seen if holding ctrl or alt (I forgot which of the two buttons it is. 😅)

So if you go by the motto of "gotta collect them all", I highly recommend trying out the class :) Also, please don't feel bad about your graphics. It's quite watchable even in low settings. As someone has mentioned, lowering player count in the graphics settings will help in populated areas. I would also suggest turning down shadows if you haven't already. I really enjoy your journey through the game, watching you learn and discover. It's what got me into the game originally. The best advice I can give is to take it at your own pace. What I mean specifically is- This game can become overwhelming, easily, in many ways. Like I'll probly overwhelm you with this comment. From the combat, map, inventory, and community to name a few. It feels like it takes a PhD to properly explain the game, all it's mechanics and systems. It's all too easy to fall into the youtube guide rabbithole. Which can be fine if that's what you want, but it would certainly be overwhelming in its own way. As a 'veteran' here are some small tips. 1- There are a lot of settings. Obviously I don't know if you went through them off screen, but I'd recommend going through the settings a few times, like in chunks, because the settings can also get overwhelming, and to revisit them every once in a while. They offer a lot of customization, in gameplay not just graphics, and there are many quality of life features hidden in the settings including in the hotkeys where they've hidden an entire combat mode. 2- The community in-game is a feature. GW2 has a culture of cooperation rather than competition (in open-world, certainly competition does exist elsewhere.) The game was designed so that helping others is never discouraged and often encouraged. You'll never steal loot or XP, and most people in game would be more than happy to answer questions, party up, or just hang out. Of course there are bad eggs but I just think of them as people who learned a different culture from a different MMO and just think that's how it's supposed to be. But they are few and far between. 3- If you type /wiki in-game it will open the GW2 official wiki. This can be an invaluable tool when you have a very specific question. Like I recently used it to learn about the various tokens that can be exchanged and I've been playing for a while. 4- last (for now) but not least. Your inventory has its own features. Look around, mouse-over different icons, and in general learn the inventory system. There is a button to deposit materials, which sends your crafting materials to your personal material storage, which is your bank for materials. So, given all that. I do hope you play at your own pace and only get as overwhelmed as you want to be. Welcome to GW2 :) Please enjoy.
Please continue uploading GW2 videos, I love the way you comment on the game, a tip regarding the camera movement, there is a way to set the camera to move dynamically, it is found in options, then control configuration, in the camera section, you have to put a key that says activate action camera.
Very much enjoying your experiences! Small tip: on the dyes screen the little cog icon has an option to hide all the locked dyes so you can just see the ones you've unlocked and have available more easily.
Really enjoying your GW2 content. Just FYI if you're playing Necro and using Summon Blood Fiend as your healing (6) skill you want to keep it out at all times. It provides you some health every time it attacks, which helps; then if you hit the key again while it's out it sacrifices itself to give you a big heal.
...nice to see you back!, looking forward to more of your adventures in Tyria, listening to your genuine reactions make me think this is the perfect game for you, so much to explore in all maps, lots of random events like your first world boss (meta-events), fashion, very very alt friendly (you'll end up playing all professions) and the best of all, at max lv (80) you do whatever you want to do (explore, craft, endgame encounters and/or minidingeons with progression) at your own pace (horizontal progression). Once again welcome to GW2!

If nobody has mentioned yet, if you do objectives in the Wizard's Vault (Shift+H or the triangle icon on the top left corner), you can get rewards like transmutation charges. Transmutation charges are like transmog in FF14, so you can get gear with stats you want and then customise to look how you want. Also, any armour or weapons you salvage or make account bound will be added to the list of skins you can transmog into
The player with a pink cat icon above him is a commander, wich means he leads a squad of players doing group events like World bosses or meta events (they often go from map to map to do several events). You can follow commanders even if you are not in their squad.

One of the best experiences I had in this game is just exploring around. players giving you bags and dyes wont take that experience away from you, but I hope people don’t get too ahead of themselves and start giving stuff that would take away some of your exploration and experience!
Like people have said, most settings won’t effect your performance much, except the character limit, even I run on the lowest number with my new laptop. i think your computer is running the game fine. it's normal for you to lose frames on the big events as it's loading all the player characters in but after they're loaded in its pretty much fine. this has always been my experience at least. turning down the "character model limit" might help with this, but you shouldn't need to turn down all the other settings as well. In large group content, you can lower the "Character Model Limit" in the settings. It'll reduce how many players you see and help with your fps.
And character model quality. (That was set to high).
Both these setting to low or even lowest :) they're designed to help with large battles :)
This is really helpful for better fps, set it to lowest and you’ll be fine.
