  • Watch how to replace the front cv axle on a 2011 chrysler 300c awd with #moparbro fred_eazy21 !
    Mopar part number: MOPAR 4578600AA
Replacing the front passenger side CV axle on a 2011 Chrysler 300C AWD involves several steps. Here's a general outline of the process:
Prepare the Vehicle: Park the car on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Chock the rear wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. If necessary, lift the front of the car using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
Remove the Wheel: Loosen the lug nuts on the front passenger side wheel using a lug wrench. Raise the vehicle with a jack, remove the lug nuts completely, and then remove the wheel.
Access the CV Axle: Locate the CV axle on the front passenger side of the vehicle. It connects the wheel hub to the transmission and is typically protected by a rubber boot.
Disconnect Components: Depending on the specific configuration, you may need to disconnect various components to access the CV axle. This might include removing the brake caliper and rotor, as well as any suspension components that obstruct access to the axle.
Remove the Axle Nut: Use an appropriate socket and breaker bar to loosen and remove the axle nut securing the CV axle to the wheel hub. This nut is usually torqued to a high specification, so you may need to use significant force to loosen it.
Disconnect the CV Axle: Once the axle nut is removed, you can disconnect the CV axle from the wheel hub. This may require some force, such as tapping the end of the axle with a mallet or using a pry bar to separate it from the hub.
Remove the Axle from the Transmission: Inside the engine bay, locate the inner end of the CV axle where it connects to the transmission. There may be a retaining clip or bolt securing the axle in place. Remove this clip or bolt, and then carefully pull the CV axle out of the transmission.
Install the New CV Axle: Insert the new CV axle into the transmission, making sure it is properly aligned. Once in place, reconnect any retaining clips or bolts to secure the axle.
Reconnect Components: Reinstall any components that were removed to access the CV axle, such as the brake caliper, rotor, and suspension components.
Secure the Axle Nut: Tighten the axle nut to the manufacturer's specification using a torque wrench. This is important to ensure proper wheel and axle alignment.
Reinstall the Wheel: Put the wheel back onto the wheel hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts. Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern using a torque wrench.
Test Drive: Before driving the vehicle, make sure everything is properly secured and tightened. Take a short test drive to ensure the CV axle replacement was successful and that there are no unusual noises or vibrations.
It's worth noting that this is a general overview, and the specific steps and procedures may vary depending on the exact model year and configuration of your Chrysler 300C AWD. Always consult the vehicle's service manual or seek professional assistance if you're unsure about any aspect of the repair process.
