He is! I grew up with the DS version (I had no consoles to play the full version on), so this was my first time seeing these games in their full versions. A lot of levels and cutscenes seem to have been trimmed down to fit the DS, unfortunately. There was no sort of items system, and sidequests were almost entirely absent. I adore the games still, but it's a bit of a bummer that so much had to be cut.
There are 2 more possible instances. One in Moria where he says ‘come on’ to Aragorn and Frodo when they need to jump off a stair (although, knowing his record in the rest of the trilogy he was probably just talking to Aragorn and didn’t even realise Frodo was there). The other one is apparently in the extended cut, where Legolas explains something and the camera cuts to Frodo, making it seem like Legolas was talking to Frodo (although this isn’t likely). But as you said, there is only one definitive time Legolas talks to Frodo
On the split screen troubles, something that's helped my sister and I in some games is going into the menu and changing the splitscreen from "dynamic" to "fixed", which just splits your screen down the middle and gives half to each player, without the divider spinning.

@@noahshad09 Then I am here to say that it's not the best trilogy I've watched I think. Though I haven't watched many trilogies haha It's really really good but not my favorite franchise
Fun fact, I've never seen LotR - like, the actual movie, the books or any of the other material - so when I was a kid and played this, I genuinely thought Boromir was shot with a banana. I never questioned it.
Kiwo perfectly capturing all Legolas fanfic with that Mixtape from her friend, you get the deep Elvish lore in the fanfic and yet Legolas is a skater boi
Honestly, Tolkien literally had to nerf Tom Bombadil by making him have no care in the world. Although I'm pretty sure we're all dead if something happens to Goldberry.
In the DS version there's an attack that sends every enemy flying offscreen, killing them instantly. This ability is exclusive to two characters: the Witch-King of Angmar and Tom Bombadil. He just laughs at the enemy and they all die.
When you said you'll play all of our favourite games this year I didn't believe you. There are so many games so my chances are small. And then you drop this, my favourite game and the best lego game in existance. Thank you Daniel, you truly are a God among Irishmen.
Kiwo has such a cute voice. Also, Boromir walking around with a banana in his chest and blowing the horn brought me to tears because it was so funny. And when Lurtz picked him up to shut him up, that was the nail in the coffin for me.
Me and my brother used to pack out the ol' ps3 just for the sake of playing this game. At one point, I shouted ''Legolas, you tool!'' at the screen, because the ai kept getting stuck in one spot or kept falling off a cliff, which then killed the character. It then became a running gag between me and my brother, and whenever the character was on screen we would repeatedly shout 'Legolas, you tool' for any minor inconvenience, even if it was caused by one of us being stupid or just dying while using him. It was great.
I know it’s because they couldn’t properly represent it through Lego pieces, but I love how the Eye isn’t made of bricks. While it isn’t as overwhelmingly intimidating as the films, it brings that otherworldly presence the Eye needs by contrasting with the Lego characters.
I loved this game as a kid. Genuinely fun, while also being silly and ridiculous and emulating the epicness of the original works. Though I will never forgive the game for not letting you play through the Battle of Minas Tirith
It's crazy how buggy this game was. I remember playing the absolute pants off of Lego Pirates of the Carribean, and scarcely ran into any problems. Yet when I played this one, I remember encountering all kinds of soft-locks and other such jank, to the point of not even finishing it. This playthrough really reminded me of that.
@@chihirohel9090 No. Gandalf was portrayed by Sir Ian McKellen, while Dumbledore was portrayed by Richard Harris (first two movies) and then Sir Michael Gambon after Richard died.

I always find there's something like. Heartwarming about hearing the Shire music. Like coming back to a familiar place and meeting an old friend. Even better when applied to a Lego Masterpiece with a Bionicle as the villain.
I absolutely love how that one king in the intro that dropped the ring kept his absolute incompetence in his Nazgûl varient-he’s holding the sword upside down, one of the ones to comically catch fire, etc. Like it’s not just a funny intro bit it’s part of that wraith’s character

Since Rt has already played Star Wars, Harry Potter (1-7), lotr, all that’s left is the Lego indiana jones games. Afterwards Daniel will have played basically all the games I had on my Wii/Wii U growing up. If I haven’t expressed this already, thank you Mr Drift King for the nostalgia over these past few years 😁
I was sick the day of this stream and spent the entire day in bed watching it. Watching this stream and seeing how important is for someone the world of the middle-earth made want to try and read the books again. I'm very thankful for it.
This was the first video game I ever played. I played it when I was like 3 years old and I would just run around the hobbit village and ride sheep. I love my childhood.
So there was this one time, I went out on my favorite boat, and gave a big speech. "I tell you that I hate the state of things! My friends hate the state of things! I will change it!" I then pushed all 34 of my friends off the boat connected to a giant piece of concrete
I've never seen Lord of the Rings and the only reason I know anything of the plot is from the Lord of the Beans from Veggietales so I'm excited to see this very accurate representation in the Lego games Sporks. They are utensils and they do his bidding
Thanks for playing this masterpiece RT. You and kiwo's giggling throughout the playthrough made me smile for the first time in months as I remember the days where me and my brother used to play this deep throughout the night.

back when i played this a few years ago, i would nonstop play for hours splitscreen with my brother. This game was a miracle and literally my childhood lego games like these provided me the knowledge i have to this day, without this game i'd be useless
Ahh, I miss this. I remember the one time i was like 5, playing this on the xbox 360 with my sibling. They wanted to speedrun it, but I was absolutely terrible at the game, and he slowly got angrier and angrier at me as we went on. Eventually, he just stopped me from playing and made me watch them win. They did, but it took forever because of my bs.
Considering how many people RT killed with a banana in the Hitman games, and that Sean Bean performed as one of the mission targets in one of those games, I'm kind of surprised RT didn't catch the uncanny irony to how Boromir dies in this @ 39:18 LOL

When I used to play this with my sibling, we would chase each other around the open world part with the disco ball item. The one that makes all characters dance and plays a "You Shall Not Pass" remix.
That was my favorite item honestly it was so fun to use
Hey my brother did that to me too!
it felt kinda broken since enemies couldn't attack when next to you, they'd just dance. I love that item.
My sister and I did that all the time! One of the best mithril items in the game 😂
fuck yes. we did that too!!
Dan, please, if you ever see this comment, continue doing these types of videos. I can watch these things for hours straight and still be upset that it’s over. This long-style content stuff is truly amazing and is not seen enough on RUclips as a platform and I’m sure it’s not just me that’s completely in love with these types of videos.
Cant wait to see RT progressively turn into Gollum over the course of the video.
I hope it’s pulled off as well as Pim turning into Gollum into smiling friends
10 minutes in, and he’s already tried to kill for the ring twice.
54:25 RT: "Yeah, he's in like a real sinister place-"
Eye of Sauron: "BOO!"
RT: "FUCK!"
That's one of my favorite bits in the video. 🤣
Why did the even put a Sauron jumpscare there lmao

I find it soooooo funny, that Gandalf hitting the chandelier was an outtake that was left in the movie and now, it is a joke in a lego game
This was just so wholesome. Seeing two friends just nerding out over a series they love.
Sidenote, I could write an essay on why LEGO Games are the peak of gaming.
As someone who has never seen any of the movies, this video was the perfect introduction to this franchise
As someone who’s only heard of the memes this is a perfect introduction

You should for sure watch them! Everyone I’ve talked to who’ve watched it have said it’s the best trilogy they’ve watched
How?
@@noahshad09 Then I am here to say that it's not the best trilogy I've watched I think. Though I haven't watched many trilogies haha
It's really really good but not my favorite franchise
Fun fact, I've never seen LotR - like, the actual movie, the books or any of the other material - so when I was a kid and played this, I genuinely thought Boromir was shot with a banana. I never questioned it.
Please tell me you've seen it now
@@jaynedoh7823 2 years on, and nope, still not seen it, but I have read some of the first book this summer.
I hope this series never ends, and with how many Lego games there are it probably never will.

He’s so godlike that honestly, nothing probably ever could
In the DS version there's an attack that sends every enemy flying offscreen, killing them instantly. This ability is exclusive to two characters: the Witch-King of Angmar and Tom Bombadil. He just laughs at the enemy and they all die.
The reason they didn’t give Bombadil the ring was because he gave so little shits that he would’ve lost it
@@Kay_213_ If he wanted, he could've worn it as a cock ring, danced into Mordor, defeated Sauron and gotten back in time for first breakfast.
@@Kay_213_ That and Sauron was steadily getting stronger without the ring and it definitely needed destroying.
Poor Dan getting so scared in Shelob's Lair! Props to Kiwo for not making fun of him and actually trying to make him comfortable.
There is nothing better than a Lego playthrough, especially when funny Irish Von Karma plays it
For you see, It was I who made the one ring of power Mr Wright
VON KARMA, NO!
"I've got a cool shovel, you've got a burden." Is probably my favorite line of this whole video.
When you said you'll play all of our favourite games this year I didn't believe you. There are so many games so my chances are small. And then you drop this, my favourite game and the best lego game in existance. Thank you Daniel, you truly are a God among Irishmen.
I adore how thrilled kiwo sounds through the entire game, it's brilliant
I remember 100% completing this game several years ago and then never touching it again, but now I feel obligated to play it again.
Kiwo has such a cute voice.
Also, Boromir walking around with a banana in his chest and blowing the horn brought me to tears because it was so funny. And when Lurtz picked him up to shut him up, that was the nail in the coffin for me.
I have extremely fond memories of playing this with my brother when I was like 12
Same
I almost cried reading this
Me and my brother would constantly walk into Isengard just to have Saigon do his scream and force his eye to pop up, it was really funny
Same
Same again. We were stuck at the ring ghost because we didn't know what to do, lol.
I’ve never seen the lord of the rings but this seems like the most accurate depiction ever
It's a solid mix of both the books and the films.
litle known fact
The cutscenes in Lego Lord Of The Rings uses audio from a dvd copy of the movies
54:29 has probably the best laugh I’ve heard out of anyone on RT’s channel.
I'm really digging the _RT Cut_ of this trilogy... It might even dethrone Turnip Boy as the best cinematic masterpiece on this channel.
I know it’s because they couldn’t properly represent it through Lego pieces, but I love how the Eye isn’t made of bricks. While it isn’t as overwhelmingly intimidating as the films, it brings that otherworldly presence the Eye needs by contrasting with the Lego characters.
I enjoy how kiwo (think I spelt it right) doesn’t make fun of RT being afraid of spiders and helps them as much as possible through Shelob section.
It's amazing how much they changed for the sake of comedy and yet they can still reuse 99% of the audio from the movies fittingly in the cutscenes.
My game had a glitch where the Ghost King's crown was replaced with a ridiculous pompadour and it just stayed like that forever

I always find there's something like. Heartwarming about hearing the Shire music. Like coming back to a familiar place and meeting an old friend.
Even better when applied to a Lego Masterpiece with a Bionicle as the villain.
I know nothing about Lord of the Rings but watching someone play the Lego version is in my opinion the best way to experience it
I've seen all 3 movies and 100% agree with the fact that watching someone play the Lego version is the best way to experience it
the “LEGOLAS NOOO” at 28:33 sounds so genuine it makes me laugh every god damn time
10 seconds in and already that music makes me almost tear up.
It feels even better to know they’re not getting DMCA trouble, true freedom to play it
As someone who knows nothing of Lotr, I can't think of a better way of experiencing the story than RTGame playing the Lego video game.
Mate, I wholeheartedly thank you for playing this game. This one's an enormous part of my childhood. May you have a blessed day :)
I absolutely love how that one king in the intro that dropped the ring kept his absolute incompetence in his Nazgûl varient-he’s holding the sword upside down, one of the ones to comically catch fire, etc. Like it’s not just a funny intro bit it’s part of that wraith’s character
You thought that there were a lot of "Mr. Frodo, Mr. Frodo" and "If I take one more step" now, but they did that for the entire 8 hours
all the lego games are pure joy and nostalgia, literally brings me to tears sometimes because of how truly amazing they were and still are, if only i still had my wii and 3ds to replay them..
Damn. Rt really do be playing the games if my childhood. Very fond memories of this one and playing it with my brothers. Since Rt has already played Star Wars, Harry Potter (1-7), lotr, all that’s left is the Lego indiana jones games. Afterwards Daniel will have played basically all the games I had on my Wii/Wii U growing up.
If I haven’t expressed this already, thank you Mr Drift King for the nostalgia over these past few years 😁
Lego pirates of the caribbean too!!
Pirates of the Caribbean
bro lego hobbit
lego batman?
Lego Jurassic Park? (Can't remember if it was in the Wii U)
I was sick the day of this stream and spent the entire day in bed watching it. I was never really fond of the works of Tolkien and the time I tried to read the books or watch the movies I didn't understood them or they felt really slow and boring. Watching this stream and seeing how important is for someone the world of the middle-earth made want to try and read the books again. I'm very thankful for it.
Oh hey, I was just planning to replay this! It’s good to see that someone else agrees with its masterpiece status.
This was the first video game I ever played. I played it when I was like 3 years old and I would just run around the hobbit village and ride sheep.

There's an achivement in this game for using a character to walk all the way from the shire and into Mordor.

Considering how many people RT killed with a banana in the Hitman games, and that Sean Bean performed as one of the mission targets in one of those games, I'm kind of surprised RT didn't catch the uncanny irony to how Boromir dies in this @ 39:18 LOL
