In his prime, he was as good as anyone and better than most. For a demonstration of his amazing breath control, listen to Just In Time. John Gary might pull that off, but certainly not Sinatra………although I’m a big fan of his too.
Frank Sinatra recorded this song in 1959 and 1969. The '69 orchestral accompaniment backing Sinatra was arranged by Don Costa, and it is lush and beautiful. However, Tony Bennett's vocal on this recording is better. Too bad Bennett didn't have the benefit of Costa's arrangement: that would have been ideal.
