I decided to travel to Guangzhou to immerse myself in Cantonese for 3 days and of course to taste the amazing foods in Guangdong. Please follow me on my journey! You speak Cantonese so fluently that it sounds like your native language. Did your family originally come from Hong Kong? It's impressive that you can both read and speak the language so well, how did you manage to achieve that?

我係土生土長嘅廣州人，我从細到大一直以為珠江係個海😅 你啲廣東話真係好犀利啊！基本上可以溝通倒冇問題👍 下次有機會嘅話試下喺上海用上海話拍片喇，不過聽講有好多上海人唔識講上海話，係咪真嘅呢😅

你說廣東話的口音比你的英文和西班牙話重一點，但聽你說的東西完全沒有問題！很勵害！
兩個補充：
1. 老廣州人的確會叫珠江做海，但更多是稱珠江南邊做「河南」，小時候回廣州不知道還在想要去河南省這麼遠！
2. 有兩個聲調錯誤特別明顯，「多芒」的「芒」應為第一聲，你發了第四聲，「小丸子」的「丸」應為第二聲，你也發了第四聲

I’m thinking of starting studying Vietnamese this year, since it shares a large amount of vocab with Chinese languages and I’m fascinated by the Vietnamese culture. I hope I’ll be able to share some related content then!
@@phoenixhou4486 Oh that's awesome! Good luck on your studies...Vietnamese has been challenging for me mainly because of the pronunciation. I would say that it is super helpful to know someone who can correct you on pronunciation, since Vietnamese is tonal and slight mispronunciation changes the meaning of the word completely. However, the structure has been largely straightforward (especially compared to english). There is a very helpful youtube channel (Tieng Viet Oi - Vietnamese Lessons). Their channel has been hugely helpful to my study of the language! Anyways, thank you for the incredible videos! You have helped me realize how crucial understanding a language is in understanding a culture, and I am forever grateful for this :))

As a mandarin speaker, Cantonese is so fascinating
It is true we refer the river as Sea. Just an old habit. But nowadays not too many young people use this metaphor😂

江边的确叫海皮，唔记得过江喺咪叫过海嘞，但有“过河北”（从海珠区去荔湾/越秀/东山）嘅讲法，反过嚟叫“过河南”

哎哟仰慕了博主这么久终于轮到我母语啦好开心！广州也太nostalgic了吧！至于珠江叫不叫海我是没有听说过这个叫法….但是我家里也不是广州本地（只是我在广州长大）所以不知道老广州会不会这么叫

Btw, I have been living in English speaking countries for more than 14 years. it's amazing how you practised your English in China to almost perfect. Your English sounds more fluent and native than mine. I still grapple with mastering the language to this day. I make random mistakes sometimes i speak (such as using the wrong prepositions/singular and plural forms), knowing them well in my head. 🥲

Or is it your second native language, because i watched all of your other videos and you never mentioned your story with english. 点都德，在广州番禺衣边我觉得一般。上下九有间之前试过，几经济实惠，又多老街坊，我觉得可以，不过唔记得名了，就识路，就三个字噶。衣边好多点心，早午餐宵夜时间都有供应，多去几间试试，对了，烧鹅烧肉可以试试，一大特色。
