When I went to school we got asked when we'd been naughty did we want the thin bamboo cain or the leather strap and where did we want it. Across each hand or the backside. After the cain I opted for the leather strap big mistake try both and see were you think it hurt the most on each hand and the backside. They didn't hold back I'm talking end of the sixties early seventies.
