Great job boys you nailed it!!
Takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there in a competition like that you guys compose yourselves and got it done. God bless. !
Thanks man! You definitely have to be ready for criticism when you go into it. But hey, just like my channel, I always put my work on display whether it is perfectly right or wrong...LOL. ✌
Kyle, Benny, and Cameraman Joey!! Yall killed it! Hope you guys get that big 10g's!! Awesome work dudes!

Kyle, it's not fair that you put so much pressure on your subscribers in watching this video. Just kidding, great video as always. Hoping you bring home the big money this time. And as usual another great job.
😂 the pressure was on for sure! Thanks for support, we had a lot of fun ✌
Nice work. You performed really well under pressure.
Thank you very much ✌
Amazing work guys ! Always a pleasure learning with you
Thank you, glad to hear it!

Exactly 👌 Very fun but you got to work at a fast pace... Thanks man! ✌
I was there it was a Great show. you guys killed it!
Thanks! It was a great time, I really liked the venue. 👌
Dropping off a few of my wheeled excavators at Alta in Middleborough tomorrow night!
Nice, it was nice of them to sponsor it ✌
Started a first time patio project and found your videos the other day and could tell right away you were from Mass. Then I saw this video and it turns out you are only a couple towns over from me. Maybe I should have just hired you to do it. lol
LOL Nice. I hope the project is going well for you. What town you from?
@@TheChristianHardscaper Blackstone. Quick question. Where can I find that black poly sand around here?
Camosse Masonry supply in Charlton or Worcester. Also Landscape Depot in Shrewsbury
@@TheChristianHardscaper Perfect! I need to go to Camosse to pick up a fire pit anyway. Thank you
Honestly love your videos man keep it up!!! I’m a hardscaper and do masonry and I love the varieties and different types of things you can do!!
Glad to hear it brother, I love hearing from others in the trade! I have tried to learn as much as I can in my career and looking back it has helped big time. Thanks for the feedback ✌
Awesome hustle guys!!!
Thanks! ✌
Pittsburgh baby! Cmon!
Nice work! That was a lot to get done in 60 minutes. I was thinking I would have sanded and compacted before I built the wall but that would have added too much time.
Thank you! It is a challenge without a doubt... And I mentioned it in other comments but that is one thing I would have done differently.
Nice work!
Thanks!
You guys were in beast mode. God I wish I knew about this. I live 20 minutes from Mohegan Sun. Could have bought you a beeear.
Yes sir! That would have been great, $10 Budweiser's! 😂 ✌
that was so good . u guys kick butt❤
Thanks! ✌
Good Stuff. Hello From LA babyyyyyyy
Thanks! you are on the complete opposite side of the country, very cool that these videos are reaching you over there ✌
Great content!
🍿 👀
Thank you! ✌
36:05 Dude! I love that hanging fire pit on a tripod! That would be great on a cold day at the job site! Warm your hands; roast a marshmallow or a 🌭 then get back at it!
You'd have to buy another lounge chair wheel barrow so you could set the tripod in the centa and chill 🔥😎
Heck yea man! We loved that thing, such a good idea for any patio or backyard in general... And I can totaly picture all of us on our own wheelbarrow lounge chairs roasting a hot dog! 😂😂 ✌
Benny is a veteran? Nice. Same here? What branch? Great job guys. You killed it.
He sure is. He was a Sergeant in the National Guard before getting out. He has a lot of life experience. Thanks! ✌
@@TheChristianHardscaper I am active duty at almost 20 years. Benny struck me as a vet. Tough yet very humble. Thank you for your service brother!
@@shoe7146 Oh nice, thank your for your service also. Tough but humble is a perfect way to explain him 👌
Nice I just saw Tom Segura earlier this month. I didn’t even notice the signs for the expo that looks neat.
Do not let my wife see a patio built in 60 mins...lolol I will have to build 3 this weekend lolol Nice work and congrats on 50K!!!
Never though about it that way... 😂 And thanks brother, I can't believe I have that many.... So thankful to all the solid original subscribers like you that helped get me here. ✌
@@TheChristianHardscaper good stuff brother. Quality work always shines.
@@mikez4132 That's the truth.
You did it good Amigo 👍🏼✅
Thank you brother ✌
Subbed for the info. TY!
Awesome, thank you! ✌
When you go to a convention but your still working!
Right! 😂 ✌
Should done sand and packing before the wall. Just my 2 cents
I agree, that is definitely something I would have done differently... But you live and learn. Building a wall on top of pavers is something you should never do any way. LOL
Victory outdoor services dopplegangers
GREAT job guys, but if was me i sand it and compact before install the wall
Thank you, that is 1 thing out of 2 that I would have done differently. The other is how I did the edging. Looking back I would have bent it and secured it differently. Thanks for the feedback! ✌🏻
@TheChristianHardscaper Yes, looking back now, I'm sure you would snip the edging and bend it around corners till it ends, then run the next piece.. but great job as always. I always learn a lot from your videos and installs.. you always go the extra mile to make them patios/walls last for years to come..
I was going to say the same thing about the sand/ wall. Do you know if any of the other guys did it that way? Is that something the judges look at?
@@hmg8915 Exactly. 👌 It has been awhile since I used any kind of edging...LOL Nothing but concrete for the past 5 years so I was a little rusty with that. But hey, its all about learning and applying it to the next one. Thanks for the feedback and support!✌
@@SandlGetIt A couple guys did it that way and yes that comes into play with the judges but it's only 1 thing of many.... And honestly, you would never want to build a wall on top of pavers anyway. Big no-no in my opinion, but this was just for then sake of a fast pace competition. ✌
Nice job! I'm doing a steep driveway in minnesota this spring. I'm curious your approach. Permeable vs non. Open grade vs class 5. From street to garage slab 65' with about a 10' rise. Thank you!
Thanks! I would do Open Grade Base but non permeable so the water can flow down the driveway instead of into the base. However the base prep will need more depth (like 12-15") and you should put geo grid in between the base stone layers. Every 4-5 inches. So probably 2 layers of geo grid. Also you will want thicker pavers for vehicular traffic. Good Luck!
That was stupid from The Producers to cover the black bricks with the wall set
Nice work
Thanks!
Fuuuuuck i was there, i wish i saw u guys!
The 1st round started at 8:00am, not many people were there yet...
Not bad for a bunch of first year apprentices
😂 ✌
When u were talking about traditional vs open grade, the French drain being built under the low spot of a patio do you have any more context or a video on it? I live in nc and there’s a lot of clay around my area and I wanna make sure this doesn’t happen to me
Unfortunately I do not have a video on how to do something like that. But basically what you want to do is lay a 4" corrugated drainage pipe right on the fabric after excavation, including the trench you dig for the french drain. Then it will catch any water in the base and divert it to wherever you send the drain. That will prevent any water issue under your pavers.
Hey boss, very good job as usual.
May I know the software/ app you used to design the layout? Thanks
Thanks man! I did not use any software, I just hand drew it on the graph paper.
Bet you were missing your ABC hammers on that! 😅
Awesome job 🫡
I certainly was... Been awhile since I used a $5.00 rubber mallet to hammer in pavers. 😂 ✌
In theory, would it be more effective to compact before building the wall?
I agree, I mentioned in a couple other comments that is something I would have done differently looking back ✌
Benny mustve been dying tk have a smoke in there
Oh yeah, we all couldn't wait to get a break outside. an hour goes quick... LOL
Awesome!! Hey what would you do when you quote a job and they say "say I saw you build a small patio in 60 minutes..." 😂😂 And all I know is Benny's fist could probably replace your 5lb dead blow
😂 That is hilarious! Not sure what I would say... LOL And I can totally picture Benny pounding in pavers with that rock fist... 😂 ✌
Oxford college lol. Cool vid 🤙
😂 Thanks ✌
I'm trying to figure out which (non-polymeric) joint sand I should go with; I've not been able to get my hands onto fine, dry sweeping sand and I saw in this video that you are just using the (not that dry-looking) base sand. Does this work? Is it getting into the cracks if it's not completely wet?
We used regular sand in the competition because polymeric sand is expensive and it would be a waste for something like this. I never recommend using regular sand because weeds will grow quickly if you do. Polymeric sand is the best way to go without a doubt
😊😊😊😊
very. good. working. Greetings from Virginia. and. many blessings. I. would like. work with you
Thank you very much!
The assistant isn't really with it-BAD START-there's no reason that the Boss should have constantly moving material in front of the screed-helper should have been right there feeding instead of spreading all around-LOTS OF WASTED TIME-can't watch the rest
🤣 Sorry it bothered you so much...LOL I had my helper getting pavers stacked up where I was going to start laying which was very helpful when I was done screeding. If he helped me with the sand, I would not have had 12 stacks of pavers to start laying. Him standing there while I screed with a rake in his hand doing nothing is way more inefficient. Splitting up between 2 tasks is the best way in a competition like this.
Comments like this should just be kept to yourself. This guy is phenomenal and has taught and helped many people though his videos. Including myself.
O, hush up
Benny's in charge...
Always. 😂 ✌
