The Grox Empire is the largest in in this game and controls the center of the galaxy.
Depending on your decisions throughout the series, you can ally or eliminate them, and your decision will effect your relationships with other empires.
This game is one of the greatest builders ever made, with something for everyone from build masters to role play fans, to achievement junkies, and speed runners, and you can play at your own pace without it causing any setbacks. You can even have multiple playthroughs going on simultaneously on the same account. It set the stage for so many other games (pun intended) to build from with its massively customizeable character creator and its randomizations/pre-built options.
It's only fault is that it is outdated.
If someone could take this game (dev kit and all) and modernize its graphics a bit, work out some glitches, and reopen sporepedia. I would download it in a heartbeat.

That goes to show you just how little I studied this game beforehand, I suppose! Thats really unfortunate that people get overwhelmed by it. Maybe it's because in real life Im a huge fan of space, to the point where I watch documentaries on it for fun. But the possibility of exploring and conquering a galaxy seemed like such a neat concept and they did a decent job at it tbh.

@@Tytar I agree. For a lot of people I believe it's a turn off because once you enter that stage it becomes more sandboxy and there aren't obvious linear goals, and there's more than the usual 3 playstyles so perhaps it's too divergent to them.

Not sure if anyone else has explained but 16:44 looks like a proto-star. Basically, that’s the beginning of a star forming. Clouds of matter slowly collect and build into a core, and as that core gets bigger, the gravity becomes more intense, pulling even more matter in. Then an accretion disk forms (the ring of particles around the star) and it keeps on sucking in matter until it stabilises.

I really appreciate the compliment. 😌 Great question! My story is interesting, at least I think so. Ive had zero work in the cinema industry. Im entirely self-taught. My dream as a kid was to become a film director. I did a different channel for fun through all of jr. high-high school but never tried to grow the channel. I gave up on the dream figuring no one cared about what I was doing. I worked a job for almost 10 years when I looked back at my life and wondered why I never tried to make something happen with video. So, I started Tytar. A Gaming Entertainment channel that I want to scale into more than just gaming coverage. That day where I do stuff other than gaming is quite far away, like the 500,000-1m subscriber zone, but thats the goal.
Playing Spore for the first time was an absolute joy, and if I had played this as a kid, I wonder how my life wouldve been different, truly. Im very happy this series was enjoyable. I tried to do it justice for new and old players alike! This last stage easily took the most work!

Theres so much to this game
The grox spaceships outclass even a max everything player spaceship but they are defeatable. You can also ally with them but that causes the whole galaxy to instantly hate you.
Also the universe is shared between savefiles so you can find the planets from your other save files in the game
Btw those adventure missions are part of the dlc galactic adventures and while you only played maxis made adventures most of the adventures are player made you can make your own adventures and play other people's adventures too

    • @Tytar

All of this is so cool. I don't think I knew you could ally the grox. I think that's awesome. I can't believe you can run into your other savefiles too, that must take FOREVER to find your other files with how big the game is. I love that you can make adventures for others to play. How exactly do the adventure creations work? Is it like an editor with coding or is it using in-game menu systems to make it?

    • @Snewbew

    A few bits of info
The space stage is actually just from inside the ship. Landing on the surface and interacting with the other inhabitants is the “Galactic Adventures” expansion pack, and should have been its own video.
That rare galactic formation was probably a neutron star.
    THE WHOLE GALAXY IS PLAYABLE!
That ring around your ship is just the limit for what you can interact with at any given moment.

Kinda late to the party, 1 year late, but better late then never! (100th comment too)
A thing that unfortunately did not occur was Archetypes!
In Spore, if you go a specific route with your cards (cards are like: social creatures (green cards), aggresive tribesman(red cards) and omnivore cells (blue cards)) you can unlock philosophies for space stage, i noted that unfortunately midway thru your campaign you lost progress (civilization didn't have the starting powers), if you hadn't tho, instead of being a Shaman (which unlocks the ticket back to your home planet) you'd have been a Zealot (which unlocks the ability to convert a planet instantly), this is a very good mechanic in Spore as it allows for even more replayability!
I don't know if you'll ever touch this game again, but if you do, experiment with ingame paths.
    (extra stuff)
each archetype has a philosophy (10 archetypes, 9 have special abilities) (8 philosophies), and philosophies can affect relations between nations, for example, a nation built on war and genocide will be way less friendly then a nation built off on trading and selling (and that affects ingame relations!).
    i yap too much

  • @tacwedie
    @tacwedie Год назад +3

Hey Tytar. I'd like to correct your nomenclature in 3:33. The word Sun is only used to refer to our star, which is called The Sun. And the Solar System is only used to refer to The Sun and the planets that there are (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune).
The correct nomenclature to refer to othr stars and other systems that aren't ours is "Stars" and "Stellar System".
    Loved your video btw.
EDIT: The "range" is not a limit to where you can to. The entire galaxy is explorable. If I am not mistaken, there are more than hundreds than thousands of systems.
EDIT 2: 16:39 What you just saw here is a Protoplanetary Disk. Basically that is a star being born. That is also something present in real life and the model present in SPORE is actually quite realistic. Some people say that it actually turns into a star after some time and has a green flash when it happens but it lacks evidence and documentation.
