I loved your truck, great ideas and a lot of thought has gone into your layout. Very practical, really liked the truck, well done to the owner and to unicat expedition vehicles.
I like the truck, and I figure you must be a Doctor or a Dentist because the interior looks like a Doctors Office. The independant rear steer suspension is very impressive. They don't give that stuff away! I figure you've probably got about $2 mil USD in that thing.... I'd drive it you you if you ever come to the States! :) Orange is my favorite color and your exterior is exactly the same colors and patterns of what I'm planning to do to the Class A RV I"m building now. Gonna have to change it up a little now. Don't want confuse people......... HA!
Lovely vehicle and great Unicat quality. The suspension is great but very complex and not what I would want for traveling. I worked with this on fire trucks and they are difficult to work on and can be high maintenance. I love the lift roof with upstairs bed. This is something that I would like to do. There is too much tech and electrical devices for my liking. It's all things that can cause issue when you are travelling. I wouldn't have it in my home let alone in a vehicle. How hard is it to open a window by hand? It is tech for the sake of it. Very impressive! But what truly blow me away was the pneumatic "lock down" for the glasses. Genial! Having driven these Volvos (me a FL7 and F16) back in Sweden eons ago, I can only say that they blow anything we can find here on US roads out of the water when it comes to quality and driver's comfort/ergonomics. BTW, I see hydronic radiators. Where they there from previous owner, or did you ever consider hydronic loops in the floor?
Ein fantastisches Fahrzeug, Gratulation! So viele Details die äussert nützlich sind - und mit der Allradlenkung ist das parkieren wohl einfacher als mit dem Pw.
I continue to be impressed by the engineering and design of your vehicles. The attention to detail is impressive. Can you explain how the lifting roof seals out drafts? Would it be effective in a cold-climate? Thank you!
Hi Duncan, we do not publish technical details, hope for your understanding. But it also works in cold climates, all walls are sandwich panels and of course, all areas of seals are less insulated. It just needs a bit more heating capacity to keep it warm. And the seal area around is electrically heated in case you have ice building up there after a rain shower.
@@thomasritter1470 Hi Thomas, I completely understand and respect that position. It's not a problem for me. I was just thinking that there might be a general description such as those used by seamless slide manufacturers (i.e double bulb) that you use to describe how it seals. I live in Canada so keeping the cold out is a major consideration, but I really like your lifting roof. ;-) Thank you again for the very informative video.
:) :) :) What an awesome vehicle,a European “combo” like a Swiss army knife,Swedish made lorry,German designed exterior/interior,and a very very happy and proud German owner/driver. Sehr gut :) :) :)
Hello! it is wonderfull, a dream! I love your good taste and love for details....(laguiole, glass storage, Simplicity and anónimus presence when the roof is lowered, etc) congratulations! G.Arteche Barcelona
Good evening sir, I do Think you are the gentle magician of the year! I follow your channel and as we can see Unicat is one of the best of the world. i wish you the best for the futur, kind regards from Brittany of France.
I have been collecting info for five years for my retirement build, this has been the most interesting yet, and defintely you presented the case to choose Volvo very well...would never have even considered it, but the close ups up the ndependent suspension, all turning wheels, independent suspension and self leveling jacks address all the check boxes for me...great video, now how do I buy the chassis stripped down like you did and have the suspension done here iin Toronto, Ontario Canada...lol
Crazy build!! I have 3 questions: 1) whats the ground clearance in expanded and not expanded state? 2) Whats the total weight (excluding diesel and water)? 3) Do you have an estimation of how much it costed? Thanks for answering the questions.
I like the centralised cabinet door locking. I don't know the details, because Thomas keeps these up his sleeve! But: 1/ If the systems fails (power cut, fuse blow). Then major internal disaster - not just the single cabinet you forgot to manually lock. 2/ Perhaps it is fail safe - power required to release locks. Then you are locked out until problem is resolved. No coffee to help diagnose problem. Its a great system, when it works. But in case of a problem Thomas?
Thankyou... such a great video.. That is a dream camper right there... like a 5 star hotel.. Just don't have a clue how he would go about getting that heavy spare tire down when he needs it.
i can only admire the beauty of this machine. I would have to die few times before I can afford this beast... Anyway, congrats to Thomas for owning this beautiful machine
You've built a beautiful mobile home. I like the functional features (especially the four-wheel steering) but also the colours and design you have chosen. Well done! On a side note, I find it interesting that you use a combination of metric and standard units of measurement. Canada is metric but as our southern neighbours don't use it, we are also measurement bilingual :-)
@@averagepainter :-) It should be, however, I've noticed that Thomas often mentions US Customary (i.e standard, not Imperial) units of measurement in his videos.
Really impressive build with so much attention to details about everything ! The central lock of every drawer and cupboard is the cherry on top of the cake for me. What are the brand and model of the Independent suspension axle and hydropneumatic upgrades please ? Did a bit a search on internet but didn't find.
@@johnphelan6623 I know, sorry John I'm just being silly. Thomas is not a fan of winches at all and thinks they are a waste which I think is why there isn't one on his unit. It is pretty cool though with or without.
@@tonylawless4742 True, I am not a fan of winches, just because they only can pull you out pretty straight and if you have a anchoring point - but in what situations is that the case ? In most situations, there is nothing to hold on in front of you or behind you. With a Greifzug ( Tirfor ) you can do much more, pulling into any direction. Many years back, I had a MAN KATI 4x4 and got stuck on a beach in wet sand when the tide came up. We digged a big hole, put the spare wheel in, digged a tunnel to the vehicle and connected the cable of the Tirfor kind of underground to the front axle. Pulling underground , we got the vehicle out before the tide arrived. Any other approach would have failed, even a winch, pulling at a certain angle would have lifted the spare wheel out of it´s hole.
@@thomasritter1470 thank you Thomas for your comments, I am a big fan of you and your company. I agree with you totally and I thank you for taking the time to reply. Amazing vehicles and engineering from you guys, keep up the good work 😎

Thanks so much
Good evening sir, I do Think you are the gentle magician of the year!
I follow your channel and as we can see Unicat is one of the best of the world.
i wish you the best for the futur, kind regards from Brittany of France.
Thank you
I have been collecting info for five years for my retirement build, this has been the most interesting yet, and defintely you presented the case to choose Volvo very well...would never have even considered it, but the close ups up the ndependent suspension, all turning wheels, independent suspension and self leveling jacks address all the check boxes for me...great video, now how do I buy the chassis stripped down like you did and have the suspension done here iin Toronto, Ontario Canada...lol
Crazy build!! I have 3 questions:
1) whats the ground clearance in expanded and not expanded state?
2) Whats the total weight (excluding diesel and water)?
3) Do you have an estimation of how much it costed?
Thanks for answering the questions.
Bottle holder with bungee rope tops are genius idea - i will made same my wee van camper :)
I like the centralised cabinet door locking. I don't know the details, because Thomas keeps these up his sleeve! But:
1/ If the systems fails (power cut, fuse blow).
I always wanted to install a manual LaPavoni espresso maker above the fridges - now I have a good reason to do so .....
WOW, it's a really amazing smart design vehicle and I really like it, I will translate this video to Chinese and share it in China.
Thankyou... such a great video.. That is a dream camper right there... like a 5 star hotel.. Just don't have a clue how he would go about getting that heavy spare tire down when he needs it.
I've been waiting for this video for long love it
congratulations it's beautiful 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 yet another dream vehicle! ....
Thank you this great video... please keep making similar videos of your Unicats.
i can only admire the beauty of this machine. I would have to die few times before I can afford this beast... Anyway, congrats to Thomas for owning this beautiful machine
This vehicle is insane...
What a wonderful vehicle...
I am following you from Saudi Arabia I love creative work Thank you for the great ideas
🌹 👍
Thanks so much
Saving $1/day, it will take about 1,500 years for me to save enough to buy it.
I will start today.
You've built a beautiful mobile home. I like the functional features (especially the four-wheel steering) but also the colours and design you have chosen. Well done! On a side note, I find it interesting that you use a combination of metric and standard units of measurement. Canada is metric but as our southern neighbours don't use it, we are also measurement bilingual :-)
what do you mean by "standard" units? isn't metric the standard?
@@averagepainter :-) It should be, however, I've noticed that Thomas often mentions US Customary (i.e standard, not Imperial) units of measurement in his videos.
@Duncan,
Your southern 'neighbors' are amused by your inclusion of us in the global family...

Nice video with good features in the truck👍
Really impressive build with so much attention to details about everything !
The central lock of every drawer and cupboard is the cherry on top of the cake for me.
What are the brand and model of the Independent suspension axle and hydropneumatic upgrades please ?
Did a bit a search on internet but didn't find.
I didn't see any tv..That's awesome love it
He is young, does n't TV.
It was a brilliant video very well narrated and the vehicle is fantastic but you did not say how you get the spare wheel off the roof
The biggest 4x4 truck iv seen so far!
i am in love with this vehicle!!
Exceptional overland truck 👌🏾 only a winch would make it perfect for me. Congratulations!
It has one, for dropping the spare.
Tony Lawless not the kinda winch I was referring to Tony 😎
