@@gamecavalier3230 we fighting Teostra. I think if you aim at the head, the bomb don’t usually hit people at the tail? Especially with leveled cluster. I mean it’s ok to use cluster and get people flying by mistake, but some people always shoot cluster aimlessly 😂 especially when monsters are down. Sometime I feel like they just intentionally aim at me all the time just to mess with me haha
I was in a wonderful round earlier today. Me and another Gunlance *alternating Bullet Barrage* on a target monster. The best part is that other two hunters were LBG, so there was nobody to accidentally (or intentionally) knock back.
WM has been great for revitalizing the BB spam style. While BB spam is still not optimal in terms of damage, it's a lot of fun and a relatively safe way to play GL. I tried WM3 and it was good, but I dropped down to two for Intrepid Heart. IH is excellent for the BB style because it can save some BBs if you get hit during the end part of the charge where you don't have super armor. One thing I like is that the BB style has great synergy with all the new skills. WM, Intrepid, and Blast Mantle all work off of multiple hitting moves like BB. PM is great because it fits well with the BB style and can add an extra bit of damage to your barrages. Intrepid also can save you from losing orange powder if you get hit. Overall title update 3 has been great for Gunlances. Now the only lagging skills are charged shelling and Wyrmstake lol, but it's amazing that we've gotten this far.
I'm doing the same but with WM1 and IH2 because I just love being able to just tank though attacks with it. It also has synergy with BM as you can keep the dust though it.
@The Starwayfarer's Interesting, I've never considered IH2 because the damage doesn't seem significant and it seems to create a conflict of interest, but I haven't tested the idea. Do you actively try to trigger IH2 or is it still used as a backup for getting hit?
IH 2 is not good. But I play dodge with GL using Evade Extender 3 and the two parts that give it are overhaul good. I see the small damage as a bonus for when I facetank while bullet barraging.
I could use Kush legs instead to get Wind Mantle 2, but the gain is not that big too (I probably would have issues fitting my Attack boost 7 with the legs, and for the gloves it's embolden which doesn't serve much in my case.

I just found out that in follower quest with Minoto, bullet barrage spam is so easy. This set is so fun! Minoto always has skunk thingies that lures monsters instead of you! Then boom! All I need is that juicy sneak attack stones. Nice video as always Caoslayer! :-)
I'm currently using Risen Kushala Head and Chest, with Augmented Rhenoplos Arms that have the special ammo boost skill+ remove for nice sneak attack edition and Barroth Coil augmented, with Golden Lunegreaves. It's a defensive build I'm planning on using the Teo chest once I get my augment resources back, I just finished getting my 3 sneak attack jewels. Using the set for those hunts, I was able to use quite a few BB's with wind mantle and it works well for it just at level 1 with protective polish timing aswell.
I would recomand trying to get at least 1 level of Intrepid heart with F. Espinas gloves/legs. As this allow you to BB though a lot of stuff as BB can get cancelled as it doesn't have hyper armor at the end of the move.

I'll probably wait until research lv141 to craft new sets because of the Sneak attack deco + shelling augments. That Risen Kush helm looks really tasty for GL though.
While not optimal, I so far run Risen KD Head/Arms/Legs for WM3, mixed with Bazelguese Chest/Waist, thankfully the chest piece was augmented with Lv2 Razor Sharp, so adding the lv3 Protective Polish and one more Razor Sharp Deco, made it much easier to maintain that purple sharpness while I spam Bullet Barrages! XD

I'm not even a G.Lance main but this is the best comfy build I've made in a long time. Even with the 30% from Torci Da Lavater I only get 95% affinity but that doesn't hurt gunlance too much. Such a fun weapon and the redirection playstyle is amazing.
I have 2 points in wind mantle and 3 points in powder cloak. I've been cutting like 3 to 4 mins of my hunts and just earlier did a sub 12 min on a lvl120 anomaly gold rath. I'm loving this updated haven't even upgraded to shelling 8 cus I don't have access to those 180 monsters yet.
If your GL is shelling lvl 7, you just need part from anomalylvl 141+ to upgrade the shell to lvl 8 (forgot about the monster but im pretty sure its the new anomaly threat A7).
Love to see what kinda funky super explosive set ups we can get with the new risen teostra passive alongside intrepid heart and hailfire cloak. I wanna get real experimental.

Wind mantle is truly insane. I was able to fit it on my ls set and it makes it so much more consistent. Being able to have those silkbinds up even faster turns ls into even more of a beast and works very well with the sunbreak playstyle spaming sakuras for the charge. With the new stuff and quiro crafting i was able to just fit everything imaginable on my ls set and it is so dam strong now. I have: Attack 7 Crit eye 7 Agitator 5 Crit boost 3 Wex 3 Quick sheat 3 WW 3 Burst 3 Prot polish 2 Speed sharpening 2 Powder mantle 2 Resentment 1 Derelict 1 Coal 1 Bloodlust 1 Embolden 1 Windmantle 1 And that without cheating a charm as im playing on switch. Quirouss how much stronger ill get with the next update. The hunter in this game is truly just op. So many skills.
Well, I'm doing Wind Mantle mixed set too. My pick is to use Risen Kushala helm, chest and belt which give you Wind Mantle 1, Kushala blessing 4, recovery 3, Razor sharp 2 and attack 2, combined with Flaming Espinas arm and legs giving you another razor sharp, attack 4, rapid attack 3, and more importantly intrepid heart 2. I don't think Teostra's powder mantle is a good fit for gunlance cuz it takes long time to take effect and it's not that easy to keep no damage during the red to blue transition, and it conflicts with intrepid heart. Nevertheless the kushala set comes with its blessing 4 and recovery 3 really gives you more space for living.
I used to feel bad for blasting randos into the next dimension…then I realized the majority of them were LS mains who historically interrupted EVERYONE.
I don't know why Capcom keep friendly hit teammate in the game. It's doesn't matter solo and it's annoying other players online. I want to use BB in multi. 10 sec BB fun as hell but if I play multi I use only RVBD instead.
Honestly, after watching Rurikhan's video on gunlance in title update 3, I feel like Risen Kaiser is better. Sure, you get more improved wirebugs when you hit multiple times and improves skills. But you have to do that with your weapon unsheathed, which doesn't happen all the time. Powder mantle not only give you free damage and activates on a couple hits, but your weapon can be sheathed without any negatives. Also, you can use redirection, switch skill swap, and watch as your wirebugs come back instantly.
You say spam BB? I spam reverse blast with aerial burst Wyvern cutter. We are not the same. No joke tho this is amazing for forcing the hit cap on wind mantle.

I knew it felt awfully fast, I have never filled a monster with so much lead before
the diminishing returns and tradeoff for other armor makes even lv2 hard to justify, so im glad lv1 is such a big boost and easy to slot in

Powder also work well with IH as it make you ignore the hit so you can keep the powder though mistakes.

man I just stopped using BB for hail cutter and ground splitter ewe cuz of how annoying the anomalies are but now there's a better way to spam BB

Wide is sadge. Can't properly use I-heart, Powder, Wind, Not even Burst. Can't make good use of the Hail buff and has the weakest BB lol
