That was Very nice of AJ.👍 Super Cool 👍. Goes Well with that Bada$$ hat. I got 2 get me one now. I always thought, and was under the impression Watson was injured on one whole side. I can't even tell You how many times I've read these stories. I just wish He had written more Sherlock Holmes stories. Very Well done Video 👍😁👍
This was the second Sherlock I read after Hounds of Baskerville. I think I would like it a lot more now if I reread it, but I remember being very confused with how it split and thought I was reading a different story. I look forward to more of these Sherlock Saturdays! 😎
This was the second story I read of Holmes (after The Hound of the Baskervilles, which remains today my favorite Holmes's story). I love this story so much and it shows a uniqueness that the later stories lack because of Doyle's disinterest in writing Holmes' stories.
Absolutely love the deerstalker and you look great in it !!! I will be really interested to hear your take on some of Doyle's other books. (Those are all ones I have not read). Thanks
I really liked this book. I read it a long timea go along with some other Holmes stuff...still only read two of the novels, the Adventures of Sherlock HOlmes collection and, i think, most of The Return of Sherlock Holmes. i know there's more, and I should really get to it one of these days. I've always been interested in The Sign of the Four.
Yay for Sherlock Holmes Saturday! Great work, Michael. I read A Study last year and particularly enjoyed the second half of the book. Actually, I felt the second half outshined the first. 🙈
I just acquired the EastonPress editions of SH, and I can’t wait to read them. Watching your videos has put me on a book buying binge. You’re costing me a lot of money!
According to my Sherlock Holmes super duper case histories, Watson was injured in his left arm because Sherlock noticed Watson held it "in a stiff and unnatural manner." Just throwing my two cents worth into the ring. Your deerstalker is pretty nifty.
Knowing you were going to talk about A Study in Scarlet, last night I took down my Complete Sherlock Holmes and reread the first few chapters. I could tell it was a long time since I read this story - the book contained a Hollerith punch card that I was using as a bookmark.
Did you read the Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter, by Theodora Goss? It wouldn’t qualify a favorite of mine, but it was decent, and I’m pretty sure it is right up your alley.
Also I think the criticism of the Utah section that some people have is unfair. "We want to get back to Holmes", they say -- but Holmes was new at the time, and Conan Doyle had no idea just how much he would take off. The argument that he gets US geography wrong seems to hold more weight, but even then, I think peopel shoudl be able to put aside their incredulity for the sake of the story.

AJ is awesome! I wish Doyle had written more Sherlock too.

I had that same feeling reading this one for the first time. I liked it more the second time I read it.
Wow, Sherlock Saturday is going to be great! Thanks. Great hat. Don’t let that herd of vicious terriers tear it up 🐶. Deb

Same!
Great video fellow Sherlock fan
That hat is superb 🎩 great review, I'm enjoying working through these stories. I'm a few into the adventures of sherlock holmes
His writing style does sound great. I must read this. Stalked any deer at the lodge yet ? 😉
I’m too vegan to actually stalk any deer. Up at the lodge they stalk me.
I see your Sherlock Holmes hat arrived!
I really need to get back to Sherlock Holmes videos.

I will be getting to a different Doyle novel when I do my next Sunday Penguin!

The Sign of the Four was interesting. I’ll be talking about that on Saturday.
@@michaelk.vaughan8617 Excellent. Really looking forward to that one.

It was pretty good, actually! Doyle could really tell a story. He wrote so many books. I should cover his non Sherlock books in the future.
@Michael K. Vaughan I would be very interesting in where our use to say about Doyle’s other works.
What a nice hat! Great reading and discussion as well, of course. I also have A Study in Scarlet as a graphic novel. It's pretty cool. :)
I need to look up that graphic novel!

The hat was worth waiting for 😍
Ha! I’m glad!
Yay Sherlock! I really enjoy reading him, even if I've only read short stories so far. Someday I'll get to the novels lol
Sherlock is the best!
@@michaelk.vaughan8617 I mean...he's no egg-headed Belgian 🤷but yes, he is great
I agree, especially about his writing. Love Sherlock Holmes.
Just finished this book and i loved the two part seperation of the story!

Mystery solved! Good detective work, Mom!

Ha! It has been too long! Been a while since I’ve seen one of those!
That hat does not disappoint! Does Holmes have any flaws, or would you say he's a "perfect" character? Enjoy your mug!
Of course I think he’s perfect! I mean he was aloof, cold and frequently acted superior to everyone but …you know…otherwise perfect.
And then there was the whole substance abuse problem…
@@michaelk.vaughan8617 Sweet! Like Dr. Larch!

I haven’t read that. Thanks for the recommendation!
