My Husky LOVES visiting his Nana but HATED going to the vets! Weekend Vlog

- My husky, Levi, was very excited about his weekend trip to Nana's...that is, until he learned we were also going to the vets.
At the vets, I addressed some of my concerns about Levi's hips, specifically his issue with slipping on hardwood floors. After examining Levi, the vet recommended that we try CBD oil for anxiety while Levi builds his confidence on the floors. Any recommendations for dog CBD welcome!
After a visit with Levi's favorite person ever (his Nana), we scooped his brother up (Nana and Poppa's puppy, Tito!), and brought him back to our house for the next 2 weeks.
The first night was...hectic! But we're optimistic the rest of our time with Tito will get better as he calms down and adjusts.

Lol.... Neither is my girl!!! Ha ha I thought she was the only one bc I thought most dogs woke up with the sun😂 but not her...she sleeps AND holds her pee trips till like 10 am or even later sometimes. Hilarious!! Animals are the very best family!
Trust me Levi knows he's at the Vet, he is just a very intelligent dog and knows that going to the vet is going to happen. My Heeler was the same way, she tolerated her Vet visits. She would let out big sighs while she was being examined. like hurry up and get this over with. She would also never eat treats at the Vet's office nor in the car, it was like she knew she was being bribed and was saying get real, but at home she would eat her treats. You have one smart dog on your hands, smart dogs can be a challenge, but they are also such fun. Love these videos. I miss my Blue Heeler so much, your videos remind me of her antics, thank you for the smiles Levi brings me.

My husky loves watching Levi if we don’t watch attest 5 of the videos/shorts a day I get yelled at by my husky And it’s funny when he try’s to talk back to Levi.

In the last bids of the video I could see Levi's hairy feet. My dogs got them, too, and they slip on the floor, naturally. So I clip the hairs under their feet, they don't slip now as often as they did with grunch feet.
Don’t be embarrassed, I’ve always had Spitzes and Samoyeds and there’s dog hair EVERYWHERE!!! Forget about wearing black clothes. 🤣😂 I have to admit it’s pretty wonderful that Duke doesn’t shed…no more dog hair all over me when I hug him. Hehe.
Haha the hair is…unreal. Lucky that duke isn’t a shedder!!

To be honest it was hard to remember to keep taking my phone out to record our weekend! Tito is a beagle mini bulldog mix :). He has grown SO FAST it’s crazy. I’m a sucker for sour cream timbits. LOL the abrasion happened when arlo was here ! The were playing and next thing I knew , blood everywhere. Ya, it was really gross. He is fine though !

The process may stress Levi out too much, but I know that groomers use trimmers to remove the fur between the paw pads as this increases traction so the floor would feel less scary.

Thank you for humanizing life with hairy dogs! I have a German shepherd (my first double coated dog) and I was sweeping under the couch because company was coming over. I felt ashamed by all the hair, but now I feel validated. It’s reassuring to know that there are other people losing the struggle of dog hair tumbleweeds.
Don't worry about fur balls they are evidenced that you have a loving puppy in your house and that's a higher priority
It's your dogs house, not your guest!! Your dog prefers their hair on everything. If the company doesn't like it, they can stay outside 😅

My husky hates wet grass too! The slipping on floors could be related to his nails and/or furry paw pads. Clipping her nails and especially shaving out her paw pads have done wonders for slippery floors for our senior girl.

My senior is a smooth coat boarder collie. I thought I would die from embarrassment when we switched rooms. We could’ve grown potatoes in those tumbleweeds under my husbands bed. I can’t imagine y’all’s workload with a husky. But they are with it, all of them 😀

Oh gosh. My black lab definitely knows she is at the vets and the groomers lol. She sat down in the parking lot at the groomers today and my husband had to carry her 70 lb butt in 😂❤ I absolutely love Levi and his sassy antics 😂

My husky mix was similar with the vets, he was so happy to be there to until we went into the consultation room.... then he'd look like he was being horrifically abused and would stand with his nose to the crack of the door for the entire appointment 😂😂😂

For the floors, my english setter has a lot of the same issues with sliding around...since Levi is a rescue, he might not have grown up with experience about the flooring, and doesn't have the instincts for handling it when not paying attention. My dog still slides around years later when she isn't paying attention, which reverts her to nervous for a while after it and slowly builds back up until she slides again.
Thankfully, she's not got the bulk of my old lab who would skid out on carpet when she was younger to the point where she'd put holes in the wall on collision with them in the hall

your dog is pure joy and you are a wonderful dog mom! Could his inability to want to walk on the different tiles\types of smooth flooring be due to a depth perception issue which may affect his judgement of his surroundings rather than an anxiety issue?

Buy a Roborock or vacuum with self-emptying station without bag. Just run it every day and your life would be much less stressfull and dusty. Don't have to be the same brand, but make sure it can get the dog hair without breaking down.
Look for one second-hand if need be.

I use CBD for my 18 year old cat and it’s amazing! He’s recovered from a freak back injury and is partially paralyzed but he “walks” and it takes the edge off of his arthritis and gives him confidence. Took him on a 10 day road trip and he was fantastic! I saw someone suggest lavender but that’s toxic for dogs. It upsets their tummy.
Lavender drops on collar also helps.
Lavender is toxic to dogs. It’ll upset their stomach.

Dr. Buzbys toe grips are great for dogs in that the grips help in walking on smooth floors.

No shame in dog hair tumble weed it’s unavoidable. This might help, I use a small cordless leaf blower to get the fur from underneath the furniture then I vacuum it up.
What about taking Nana with you when going to the vet if possible? It could help get the anxiety down a nutch.

I think she commented to me that Tito is a beagle-bulldog mix. I can see beagle in his face, ears, and eyes. His markings look bulldog, no? The tail...I'm not sure. It still looks like a little sausage to me. Sorry, Tito for picking on you, but you have the cutest wiggle butt!😊

Agreed. And I am genuinely at a loss why it is the case for so many poor individuals since it is so pointless, cruel and disadvantageous - and not even aesthetically pleasing (not that that would be a proper reason, let alone a justification but still, that leaves me even more confused). In most countries at least in Europe it is banned, rightfully so, I hope the other parts of the world follow suit soon...
Replace floor tiles with carpet you will never keep clean. All dogs hate the vet if the smell the death of another.....
