The BMW S1000RR is an incredible machine, no matter who you talk to. I've talked to a few owners and they say there is nothing like it. The Japanese bikes fail in comparison to the technological advancements placed on the BMW. When was the last time you went all out in first on your CBR1000RR, and didn't lift the front? I was never able to do it on mine. Plus the S1000RR only costs like 2k more than a brand new Japanese liter. It's not like Ferrari vs Honda Civic pricing, geez.
The bikes road test was done in South Africa on the long stretch of the Karoo road, cant believe we didn't get word of it, mostly the Germans kept it very HUSH- HUSH
Sam Rad No the BMW is a development of an iconic superbike, Suzuki has financial difficulties and because of this has not lead the market for a long time.
@johnrhodes101875 Yea..last time I looked at an MV, it was like $22 grand, more than my car. But every time I go to the dealer I'm still surprised at the cost of the BMW. I just looked online at some random websites and the S1000RR: $15,050; CBR 1000RR: $13,800. No special race editions or anything. I feel you get so much more bang for your buck with the BMW. My preference. I owned a CBR 1000RR and it is a dream lol can't wait to try the BMW, hopefully this year.
i did not like the strange subtitles, i did not like the robot changing the gears, - i liked the rider, - i liked the bike for it's traction control... epic :)
I was down to the 2015 R1 and BMW S1000RR. BMW has heated grips, cruise, and a more comfortable seating position. The few guys on You Tube who have ridden both swear by the BMW. I am pulling the trigger in the Spring. I am on a heavily modded FZ-07 now, and I have stretched the limits of what this bike can do, it is going to kill me. I am shitting myself over the jump in HP. 75->200! Still, I can't wait!
If you stop at 7:17... you'll see BMW had to dig up what appears to be an 06 R1 just to have a benchmark to compare their new German lead sled to in the development stages... more evidence that Yamaha is superior.
i want to now abaut that bike and reability. i go to by one. that bike give you problems? engine or other things? i see more that 5 videos of engines blow ofs
There was a recall on the 2011 model for one of the gears that failed I believe. After that year it was modified. Engine blow ups? No idea what you mean by that.
i buy a 2014 model and i love it. i see on the youtube 2 videos of engine blow 1 on dyno and 1 on road but dont now what condicion that engines pass and rideres because i do my researtch and its one of the heavy engine on the 1000cc because forge hight strong aluminium and its a long lasting engine because of the sacrifice some power and is a heavy bike 210 kg but i love its the best bike i ever have, i already in the past have a zx 10 a gsxr 1000 and a cbr1000
they are actually the first in the superstock 1000cc which means the actual bike that is sold to public. Don't compare modified bikes or motoGP because these are not bikes that you get on streets. Not even close. Look at some professional reviews of BMW 1000r as well
I do go to the track and i have leather company and makes suits for racers. I have seen the 1000r vs gsxr and other japanese and it's much better at handling, power and etc
Proper engineering and true innovation from Germany(Europe). The Japanese would ask you 4 tims the price of S1000RR if they were to give you a bike of similar spec.
Sam Rad comparing base model prices. The standard 2015 s1000rr suspension is Sachs, not Ohlins. Does the s1000rr have titanium con rods, magnesium wheels, IMU and aluminium fuel tank?
+David Visser MotogGP bikes are completely diferent from this bikes, they arent the same as superbikes, for exemple Rossi Yamaha M1 is completly diferent than a R1, in the superbike category the italian bikes very good, for exemple the new Aprilia RSV4 is one, if not, one of the fastest superbikes in the world
try to get these fuckers serviced ! its a joke ! standard answer , come back in 3 months , after that again , come back in 3 months . after that ,...leave it over the winter maybe we have time for you . i have a BMW with a broken abs . unit ,...bike is scrap , looks brand new but cost $5000.- to repair . a friend of mine had an intermitted problem , ..not repairable ,.. could not take it on vacation for fear of getting stranded ,.....sold it and bought a japanese bike .
+ShooterMedic Do your research. My friend switched from a 2010 S1000RR to a 2013 R1. Main reason was it broke down so often. I believe his was covered under warranty, but the decision to sell was that it was in the shop so often he missed out on a lot of riding time. We just ran into a young dude last week with a newer model. He has nothing but problems.
I own two BMW's bikes. A 2015 K1300S and 2006 K1200S. The 2006 still looks brand new and burned through four clutch baskets, faulty ignition coils, recall after recall of bad parts, etc.. The 2015 solved all those problems. Either way, it's my last BMW bike. My 2006 still looks brand new and BMW refused to offer anything to trade it in. They admitted there were so many problems with that bike, it only has value as parts. Disgusting. Since it wasn't worth anything, I kept it and did my own repairs. They wanted $3500 to replace the clutch, and in two days I repaired it myself for $150 and two days of labor. I also realized how sloppy the BMW technicians are when repairing my motorbike and realized I do a better job than they do. BMW makes incredible motorcycles. Top-quality materials and craftsmanship. The problem is they are just too complicated and break down too often. Want to repair your BMW by yourself, be ready to pay a kings ransom for parts because they know you can't get them anywhere else. I've purchased my last BMW motorcycle. My Japanese bikes were far more reliable than these bikes. Such a shame too.
leave it to the germans to overtake the japanese superbike, with one model year no less. Suzuki sort of had it coming to them since there hasn't been much innovation since 2005.
So BMW has technolgy advance than japanese? So, care to tell me why ALL CBRs dominates almost all classes in TT Isle Man. And all of Ducs and Beemers lovers talk craps about CBR and call CBR are slow. So now who is the real trash, CBR or European motorcycles? Answer me!
BMW is faster, more agile, has more technology then the CBRs. To be blunt. Honda dominate the entry-level market now, more then the competitive scene. Where high-end is dominated by Yamaha. BMW doesn't compete in MotoGP because of ethical reasons (as they put it) but they do claim to have the better technology, which can be seen on the track. Honda ARE good but it's really a matter of preference. Based on sheer technology the BMW wins.
+addicz2 Honda doesnt dominate the world. They won the TT, but that doesnt mean that Honda dominates the world. Because, as +Angry Skipper said, BMW S1000RR is waay more powerfull and refined than the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade.
Yes it is, the bmw s1000rr is the clear winner. The aerodynamics of the bike, the power, speed, build and quality are vastly superior. Though, on technology alone (talking about the raw amount of data collected to develop the bike) it already wins.
Best Engineers in the world !!!

Oh man.... 2:55 hear those horses siiiiiiiiiiiiing. Such a beautiful Machine..
Thanks to German engineers for this great bike 👍❤️💙

The BMW S1000RR is based on the Suzuki GSXR1000 K5,
it's ironic that it's better than the obsolete pig ugly gsx.
Sam Rad No the BMW is a development of an iconic superbike, Suzuki has financial difficulties and because of this has not lead the market for a long time.
Sam R Do you even ride a bike? It looks like you dont know what you are talking.
Yeeup they should lick Suzuki's balls for that
Jerman.......emang mantap 💪💪💪

@kaeferzwei notice the headlights for a long time are symmetrical!!
i did not like the strange subtitles,
i did not like the robot changing the gears,

5:25 is every single bike tested like this before it is sold?
Its more like $1,000,000. Those bikes has SOOOO much R&D in every part and aspect of the bike.
lxwvandenberg almost all high end production bike does. Do you think Japanese bikes and Italian bikes are cutting corners on R and D?
god, that bike is fucking gorgeous

Just go to the FZ-09 and call it a day haha. or buy the FZ-10!
This was an old post. I bought the Anniversary 2016 R1. I have $4K in racing mods going in Monday. It is a beast. I am 1200 miles in. No regrets.

7:01 is that an 08 yamaha R1... wow are they using that R1 as a benchmark?
Why the background drumbeat? Adds nothing.
Sold!!!. I'm buying one
Danke
good motor pmw
they were never symmetrical. look at them @2:27 or @4:52 for example. there were just sickers around the round headlight.
Anyone else think that this machine was lousy at changing gears?
+DomCool NZ Lol I was thinking the same thing. I little slow on the clutch.
Ok
i want to now abaut that bike and reability. i go to by one. that bike give you problems? engine or other things? i see more that 5 videos of engines blow ofs

congrats on your purchase. drive save and have fun.
@kaeferzwei oh and at 9:00 there also benchmarking that k9 gixxer 1000! wow! this is some serious benchmarking! FTW! BMW!
shit theres a robot changing the gears on that bike
sick.
The robot doesn't know how to change gears because some riders don't either. Its testing the bikes tolerance for having an idiot in the pilot seat.
05:06 - AWEFULL BODY POSITION.

its a good thing it has subs in a common language!!.....cause i dont speak german.....
Well if u check superbike then u will see that BMW is actually doing well.
I do go to the track and i have leather company and makes suits for racers. I have seen the 1000r vs gsxr and other japanese and it's much better at handling, power and etc
Bike developed in Germany , Sub is in Japanese , and Testing is in France,
Take the GSXR K5 use all the good bits change and improve on others thats what they done.
I've seen multiple people say they bought K5's from Suzuki to help design this bike. Is there any legit info that BMW did this?
RIP EVO it was published in almost all reputable magazines and website when launched.
Это на всех спортивных мотоциклах большой 4 так собирают мотики. Сборка мотиков намного технологичней чем машин.
moze da ga duva suziju ..
should have left the headlights symmetrical
so much better looking with symmetrical front

Sam Rad Then why is the 2015 r1 cheaper?
2015 R1 doesn't come with ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes. Cheaper than what? R1 costs 18k
Sam Rad The electronic package is unparalleled and the r1 is about 10% cheaper.
10% cheaper than what? Does it come with ohlins/brembo as standard?
Sam Rad comparing base model prices. The standard 2015 s1000rr suspension is Sachs, not Ohlins. Does the s1000rr have titanium con rods, magnesium wheels, IMU and aluminium fuel tank?
my god
This is how you build a bike with no soul
the robots arm can only move so fast..
make me one...
I want one bad then go run the isle of man race
2:17 Before the S1000RR became a pirate.
And what motor did they copy? Suzuki k5 gsx so I'm told . New Honda cbr will probably flog it this year at the Isle of Man .
Still japanese bikes dominates motogp
the reason being that italy bikes are shit and BMW doesn't compete in motogp
+David Visser nor Triumph

***** yes but you don't have a speedo anymore so it will not pass a safety inspection
