I know exactly what you mean when doing the last pass on each strip. Our irrigation dikes are planted and cut as well so sometimes is just a guessing game. Nice SP unit!
@@patrickburgmeier7902 we can’t, our baler tractors run every day, and that swather runs every day. Most of our tractors have 1 job. We don’t get time between cuttings, by the time we make it through the rotation, it’s time to start over. One day we might have triple mowers, but right now we haven’t seen one that’s as consistent as a these.
Modern technology makes it easy. Happy new year Bales Hay!
@@TimMai-tf5pc I agree!!
Driving a swather is the nicest job on any farm.
I actually hate driving swather. Steamer baler combo is more fun to me
Never easy to be a little bit rusty... 👍 Happy new year from a cold and snowy Sweden. ☃️
@@johnnyhomegrownholmgren9999 happy new year to you!!
Having GPS on the swathers makes it nice I was surprised you didn't have it on yours
@@kevinlane8087 I know I know. I agree. We don’t have it on our 9430 Deere either. I wish we had it on both.
Good operators make it look easy

What population (Ibs/acre) of alfalfa do you guys plant? How long do most fields stay in hay for?

and i have not riden a bicycle in a few years either- -oh my no GPS- -what did we do prior to that?
@@dominicdahlheimer6861 I’ve never had a swather with gps. But also, 18 mph wasn’t the speed. At 3.5 mph, gps wasn’t needed.
Trevor I'm surprised that you don't put triple mowers on your baling tractors to utilize your power plants better?

Last swathing I did was in 1963. Equipment has changed a lot since then.
