Hello, my first pitching was in NYSC camp this November with over 2500 corpers. All my competitors stood by the podium and presented, everyone cheered them up. It got to my turn, I wanted interaction so I moved closer to the audience. The hall was as silent as a burial ground, no clapping even when I gave tractions, when I asked questions one-two responses, & till the end only two - three people clapped for me. It was soo bad, I feel like crying every time I remember, and I still didn’t win. It’s just very risky asking your audience if they’ll buy at the end, because what if it goes SOUTH. With what happened I don’t think I want to engage the audience ever again.
Please keep recording the videos. They realy stand out and have a lot of useful advices. I would love to watch more videos regarding scaling and lead generation as this is a tough part of growing saas solutions.
Hey Matt, Grateful to have found your channel! I'm at the very early stages of founding a project that will change the world, and your materials and advice are helping me to bring it to fruition. Looking forward to some more insights in the future.🤠
Hi. When pitching, are you pitching the product or the startup? I'm creating my slides right now but my product does something slightly different from what the overall startup does. So, which one should I put in the slides please? the startup or the logo? And if I'm wearing a branded shirt, should it have the startup or the Product name displayed? Thank you😄
Good question, what are you raising money for or what are you trying to get interest on? I’m assuming the product, so focus on the product. It’s a more nuanced question as I don’t have the details like does the startup have multiple products?
@@mattcsmith Yes, we are trying to raise funding for the product. So, this is the first product from the startup. We've mainly been focusing on services up till now. So, I'm wondering if I should skip the company intro and go straight to the product. Thanks for responding :)
Can u suggest me how I do this or implement this in my startup I have a virtual reality startup I have a investment round on 1 October humour can be done props I am thinking but how do I represent something virtual how do I explain that
Great question, well could you do something around virtual reality headsets? Or ask the audience to close their eyes and imagine xx and make a joke about this is the original locked in our mind's reality, my company takes this out and makes us experience this for the first time. But make a joke around the fact you asked everyone to close their eyes and picture something and pretend that this is what you do...joke of course there is a headset? I'm just spit balling here :)
@@mattcsmith and also when the prentantation and picth deck/picth happens I am going to make a video of it and upload it on RUclips maybe u can give me some feedback idk but thanks I'll put link in this chat
Focus on the story, the HOOK, Set up, conflict, solution and cta. Just make sure you have a coherent story ark! And remember to think about what your audience is looking for, that can help you decide about what slides to add to answer the questions they have in their heads
Great video Matt! This is the kind of genuine content I’ve always looked for on RUclips! With today’s algorithm it’s really hard to find! But I’m so glad I found your channel and will be sticking with yours since it’s been so helpful! I’ve been writing a startup pitch recently and starting my company. I hope I can still send you my slide deck!
I'm in Africa , Zimbabwe I have been learning from your videos a lot .Thank you .Im looking for investors who can invest in my start up can you kindly help with any leads .Thank you

Hi Matt! Excellent insights! For a two-minute maximum pitch, what slides are most important? Still the 8?
