They've had good athletes for a few seasons now. The problem is they way they've shot themselves in the foot so many times in big games and situations. They could do some real damage this season if they can get that under control.

Damn. I'm a USC fan but this game this early in the season already had the bowl games atmosphere and vibe. Both teams were playing top notch and flying around like they're in mid season form. Very impressive.

Been going to Bruins games for decades and the Rose Bowl hasn't felt like last night years! The break between the 3rd & 4th quarter was rockin'!! Bruins fans have the rep for being indifferent (deservedly so, ha!) but last night shows that if you put out a quality product, there's a ton of support for this program. This fan base is starving to see competitive and entertaining football again. This is Chip Kelly's most complete and talented Bruins team so far...no more excuses. Go Bruins!!!

This UCLA team was built by Kelly 4 years ago. They were 15 points from being undefeated last year. Every loss was by less than a touchdown. They are good this year.

I’m a diehard Michigan fan but I always love seeing SEC teams lose and I love UCLA’s uniforms and colors so I’m happy they won. It’s also good seeing charbonnet play so well. He was buried on the depth chart a Michigan but will get lots of play time at UCLA.
Probably not happy that the SEC has won 11 of the last 15 Natty’s I guess. I was in Arlington in 2012 when the Maze and Blue were run out of the stadium about ten minutes into the first quarter 😂

Let me explain something to you: there’s a reason why SEC teams don’t really do REAL road games out of conference: the results aren’t that pretty. It’s nice and all fun n games when you can play at a not-so “neutral” site in Texas or Atlanta where you have a 70-30% fan advantage, whole different ball game when you come out west. UCLA is 4/5 vs the SEC in their last 5, fact of the matter is the SEC avoids these match ups much of the time. Plenty of SEC programs have declined true head to heads in the past. That being said, UCLA beat LSU and are simply better than them.

When Chip took over at Oregon. He was already in a system that was trending up. He was the offensive coordinator and he moved up to head coach position. When he took over at UCLA, he basically had to start from scratch and build his own system. But now he’s got those boys bought in. They are physical and nasty and big. That O-Line is thick. Been watching UCLA football since 97. I’ve gone through a lot of heart breaks with these teams. So happy to have a SQUAD!!!
I'm a ucla fan and that has been true in the recent history. the 90s bruins were smash mouth but they got soft in the 2000's. Now that they have a a good coach in my opinion, they should be able to make some big boy moves for a change.

You can’t take anything away from UCLA. This is a very well coached team under Chip Kelly! This is exactly what he did at Oregon with 2 & 3 star recruits! Made it to a national championship! One of only two Teams to make a national championship with 2 & 3 star recruits! (Both happen to be Oregon teams!)

Doesn’t help being down Kayvon thib, and both starting safety and DB. But I fully expect them to pick things up and ultimately win the conference and possibly even upset OSU next week. UCLA could finish 3-4th in my opinion. I think UCS has a nasty D line this year with 5 star foreman and jackson at DE who will be a first rounder. Then I think Utah and possibly Arizona state can also be ahead of UCLA. That being said UCLA was disrespected all week Quite frankly, they have lost many games under chip but they’ve slowly been improving. These are all his guys. Washington lost to freakin montana, oregon is shit and has a shit qb, arizona state is facing potential sanctions, ucla is on a revenge tour against utah for all the previous year and i guarantee will smack utah sideways and make those mormon boys cry. The only team that looks fairly good in the pac 12 right now other than ucla is usc. I would put usc number 1 and ucla 2 based on results so far. If you look at 60's, 70's and early 80's run schemes at the pro level, you'll see some of the greatest names in Running Back history being escorted around end by some of the greatest names of the O-Line... particularly the teams from the "Black and Blue" Division.

I was a huge Chip Kelly skeptic but this is a big win, no question. With the P12 North in shambles this is UCLA's best shot at a conference title in who knows how long.
First of all, LSU got lucky when their QB blindly heaved a duck into traffic. But I like the blitzing - Kelly just had no fear in this game. The LSU QB actually made some great plays with people in his face. But they couldn't stop our run game. And that opened up the passing game. Oregon barely beat Fresno St. USC struggled early against San Jose St. We are legit shot to win Pac 12 now. Both lines looked very good today.
Agreed with everything you said, except you forgot that Fresno State & San Jose State are actually both tough opponents. Even Montana is a powerhouse from the Div II. You shouldn't be fooled by the blind fans who overlook some of the tougher football programs that come from lesser known conferences.
Thanks UCLA for making a statement for the Pac12. Very few of our teams did that in week one. I mean for God sakes, Washington loss to fucking Montana! PATHETIC!!! An although my Ducks were almost upset by Fresno St, looking across the country there were some other highly ranked teams that played close games against weaker teams. Oklahoma beat Tulane only by 5, ISU barely won there game. Either way, this win by UCLA was huge. Any win by the Pac over the SEC is huge.

This UCLA team was built by Kelly 4 years ago. They were 15 points from being undefeated last year. Every loss was by less than a touchdown. They are good this year.
He had this team, they were just freshman an under developed..
All he needed was time to build a talented roster of guys who all wanted to be there and participate in his vision.

I’m a diehard Michigan fan but I always love seeing SEC teams lose and I love UCLA’s uniforms and colors so I’m happy they won. It’s also good seeing charbonnet play so well. He was buried on the depth chart a Michigan but will get lots of play time at UCLA.

Let me explain something to you: there’s a reason why SEC teams don’t really do REAL road games out of conference: the results aren’t that pretty. It’s nice and all fun n games when you can play at a not-so “neutral” site in Texas or Atlanta where you have a 70-30% fan advantage, whole different ball game when you come out west. UCLA is 4/5 vs the SEC in their last 5, fact of the matter is the SEC avoids these match ups much of the time. Plenty of SEC programs have declined true head to heads in the past.
That being said, UCLA beat LSU and are simply better than them.

When Chip took over at Oregon. He was already in a system that was trending up. He was the offensive coordinator and he moved up to head coach position.
When he took over at UCLA, he basically had to start from scratch and build his own system. But now he’s got those boys bought in. They are physical and nasty and big. That O-Line is thick.

You can’t take anything away from UCLA. This is a very well coached team under Chip Kelly! This is exactly what he did at Oregon with 2 & 3 star recruits! Made it to a national championship! One of only two Teams to make a national championship with 2 & 3 star recruits! (Both happen to be Oregon teams!)

Doesn’t help being down Kayvon thib, and both starting safety and DB. But I fully expect them to pick things up and ultimately win the conference and possibly even upset OSU next week. UCLA could finish 3-4th in my opinion. I think UCS has a nasty D line this year with 5 star foreman and jackson at DE who will be a first rounder. Then I think Utah and possibly Arizona state can also be ahead of UCLA. That being said UCLA was disrespected all week Quite frankly, they have lost many games under chip but they’ve slowly been improving. These are all his guys. If you look at 60's, 70's and early 80's run schemes at the pro level, you'll see some of the greatest names in Running Back history being escorted around end by some of the greatest names of the O-Line... particularly the teams from the "Black and Blue" Division.

LSU fan here.... UCLA played a great game. LSU fans are embarrassed at the actions of our current head coach who is soon to be the ex head coach.
First of all, LSU got lucky when their QB blindly heaved a duck into traffic. But I like the blitzing - Kelly just had no fear in this game. The LSU QB actually made some great plays with people in his face. But they couldn't stop our run game. And that opened up the passing game. Oregon barely beat Fresno St. USC struggled early against San Jose St. We are legit shot to win Pac 12 now. Both lines looked very good today.

Agreed with everything you said, except you forgot that Fresno State & San Jose State are actually both tough opponents. Even Montana is a powerhouse from the Div II. You shouldn't be fooled by the blind fans who overlook some of the tougher football programs that come from lesser known conferences.
Thanks UCLA for making a statement for the Pac12. Very few of our teams did that in week one. I mean for God sakes, Washington loss to fucking Montana! PATHETIC!!! An although my Ducks were almost upset by Fresno St, looking across the country there were some other highly ranked teams that played close games against weaker teams. Oklahoma beat Tulane only by 5, ISU barely won there game. Either way, this win by UCLA was huge. Any win by the Pac over the SEC is huge.
