Love this video! I have watched it many times over the years. Anytime I’m feeling a little confused on my anxiety journey or a little bit of a set back, I watch this video and it’s easily realigns everything for me! Totally makes me understand so clearly that I have once again ended up fighting feelings instead of truly accepting and allowing them. Thank you everyone at Dare!!!!! Love you guys! 🙏🙏🙏💪💪

Yup. Funeral thoughts. For me it was ambulance thoughts when I had panic disorder. That heart attack never came and it’s been 36 years. All that worry for nothing. I finally figured that out when I was 40.

    Notes:
    - do less = care less = be less anxious
    - focus on something constructive, not thoughts or sensations
    - the aim is to not CARE about anxiety
    - be willing to have anxiety, intrusive thoughts, panic attacks -- take the risk and go ahead and do it
    - in order to feel fine/calm, you need to feel anxious first! this way you realise nothing is happening. your worst case scenario is not happening
    - be uncomfortable while doing
    - the amygdala learns through ACTION not just knowledge or books

    Tips:
    - be willing to accept a negative outcome
    - don't have a desire / goal
    - feel comfortable with anticipary fear
    - be aware of and don't avoid, don't stop, don't reduce anticipatory anxiety, otherwise it's a temporary relief of anxiety without learning that it's less real, probable or you had more control than you thought

Patrick is such an inspiration. Hearing his full story and overall success has helped me so much.

In a nutshell: 'I don't give a s*** feeling (insert symptom/fear) while doing (insert activity)' and engage.

What gets in the way of me sitting with the shitty feelings is the curiosity of my heart (which is beating probably at 140) if it can handle how fast it’s going, how do I know I’m physically safe? Heart wise. How do I know if I need to go to the ER or not?

People says, I tried that. I tried not giving a shit and it’s still there. And how do you feel about that? It bothers me. Then you don’t give a shit. Try not giving a shit about giving a shit. Doesn’t make sense, but it works.

I am working on not giving a shit and it certainly works.

I have anticipatory fear, if I speak. I always predict that I cannot move my mouth (anticipatory fear) resulting in a speech block. Any tips? (Other than the ones I mentioned?)
