Ian really pushed the limits with his vocal chords on this album/tour, Hes even gone so far as to say he was the worse sabbath singer in their history, i disagree i think he like the others added their original signature style and sounds.I think Hes a fantastic singer, i enjoyed Born Again.

They all got along very well. Bill just fell off the wagon before the tour started. By all accounts they all had a blast that year. They kinda knew up front that a Deep Purple reunion was in the works. Ian knew he had about a year to kill. But it would have been cool had they managed another studio album...and maybe a proper live album.

I liked the two albums he did with DP, but, BA was so full of Metal mayhem. Ian probably could have been the only singer to get away with playing in two bands at the same time. Then he sure would have had hobgoblin blisters on his vocals.
I had a group of party-friends in high school & Born Again was in hot-rotation at those basement everclear-drinking, pot-smoking, first-girl scamming, parties. Along with Powerslave by Iron Maiden British Steel by Judas Priest & Perfect Strangers by Deep Purple. Great records all. 1984-85 … I’d go back in a minute. It’s Christmas night 2021 and things sure have gone to hell.
Ian Gillan is a demon vocalist. He deserves a right full place as a front man with black sabbath. Bands name should be deep Sabbath. Well, its only 1 album with the band, but in my openion is one of their best. By the way, you should listen to the double album.(who cares). Well, just give the job to the masters of heavy metal. Vincent la valletta malta.

Loved this album despite its awful recording. Some of the heaviest riffs Tony had written up to that point. And Ian killed the vocals!
