It's funny, there is this comment war between Finland and Denmark right now about which country was shouted, but people from the audience commented it was Finland. Sent shivers down my spine to hear the people chant, as a Finn.
@@ThePeaceAround The good thing is that u didn't hear Denmark the 2nd time. But I've heard that a lot of people were hearing Denmark. Maybe it's because how Dutch people pronounce Finland.
My favorite performances of the night were Finland 1st, Iceland and then Greece..I too can't believe how Moldova got through..Austria should be in Moldovas place

First time in all these years (close to 20) that I've got 10/10 right. Portugal's worth keeping an eye on, while Bulgaria and Switzerland were great - Iceland too.
I’m pleased Moldova qualified but at the same time I felt like the performance was lackluster at points. It felt like she was barely putting in any effort and relying too much on playback.
@@ThePeaceAround I'll be honest, the Moldovan song really isn't my cup of tea, and I also thought the performance was bland. Also, wanted to ask since you have a better ear than I do, was it just me or was poor Benny REALLY off and restrained? I was so gutted, the performance seemed to be the final nail in their coffin.
Hey David, Benny unfortunately was slightly off, you’re correct. His vocals were just so breathy, and combined with a really high pitched backing vocalist, the total result wasn’t great.
Did the commentators have good commentary this time haha? Normally Jan Smit is the Dutch commentator but now there’s a new one who only is mocking on the artists and their performance.. annoying.
Super disappointed that my 2nd and 3rd place choices for semi 2 were eliminated ): No Austria and no Estonia ): So so so wrong! Some terrible songs made it in, including my least favorite: Finland, but also Moldova, San Marino, Iceland, Serbia - and they took out Georgia and Poland - just wrong! Hoping Spain wins or Belgium or Switzerland or France or Germany...
Georgia had a good vibey song but it wasn’t competitive at all, and therefore had no chance of going through. It was have faired better on like call me by your name soundtrack or some indie movie.
@@ThePeaceAround I'm o.k.. with Georgia not making it in - my biggest disappointments were Austria, Estonia and Ireland not making it through. Fortunately Spain, France and Germany are in the big 5 countries. I simply preferred Georgia's song to so many of the others in the 2nd semi-final. I watched all 39 songs on youtube at least 3 times since sometimes the first time you hear a song it doesn't connect yet. Still hoping for a miracle and Spain is the winner but I suspect it will be a song I don't like this year.
Sorry but I don’t think Spain is winning at all. I’m pretty sure as well, that he will come last. I don’t want it obvs and I quite like the song, but he won’t break the bottom 5.

Apparently they were shouting Finland in Dutch :D But I couldn't really hear it either when I was watching live :D

There were some slip ups such as the way they barely pronounced Uku Suviste, But perfectly pronounced the Icelandic entry, which IMO, is much harder.

Austria and Estonia were really boring and forgettable imo
