This video helped me fix my 2012 Corolla s. Thanks!
what was wrong with it btw? I have a 2012 corolla that is making a ticking noise, im hoping this fixes it
Some these videos the tensioner has a O ring where groove is?
I've noticed this too, I can't tell which is right
I think the o ring is for the older engine. When I did this on a 2003 it was the o ring style. My 2009 is gasket only.
On my 2010 Toyota Corolla repair manual said to release tensioner hook turn crankshaft to counterclockwise then clockwise. Now I have 2016 Toyota Corolla 2xr-fae should turn clockwise to release the hook
Did you do it without opening tappet cover ?
I found out it’s the older corolla versus the new ones, the newer tensioners don’t have that O-ring.
You turn the crankshaft pulley right? And was the belt on when you crank it?
CCW just until you hear the tensioner release. Then I went a couple revolutions CW to make sure everything felt right. I still had the belt on.
@@indecisivegarage2389 ok. Thanks for the info.
