  • @moodberry

    Good tip. But the reason I don't use a green screen is because of "green spill", the reflection of green onto the foreground subject. You see it all the time. I wonder if there is a way to eliminate spill in post? What do you know about that?

    • @LearningandTechnology
      @LearningandTechnology  3 года назад +7

      The main reason I see spill is from not having a light behind me illuminating the screen evenly. So I have a light behind me and a light in fron t of me to create the effect properly.
      I think I’ll do a full video on this.

    • @moodberry
      @moodberry 3 года назад +3

      @@LearningandTechnology Would love to see that video. Lighting on a blue or green screen is harder than it sounds, at least to get a good key. BTW, many people don't know about blue screens and why they are used. It has to do with skin tones and the fact that most Caucasian people have blue in their skin...Green isn't the only color. In fact, there is a company that sells a reflective cloth that reflects (I think) infrared light that a video camera can see but your eye cannot. www.reflecmedia.com/broadcast/products/chromatte/index.htm
      Also, check out this quote:
      "Blond hair is a common issue with green screen because both the blond hair and a green screen have lots of yellow, hence the phrase “blondes on blue.” Clothing also shouldn’t contain any green colors or reflective materials including sequins or metal. Even sweat can reflect green light which can be hard to remove without the proper software."

    Hi, I've only just seen this video, so I doubt you will be able to answer before I try anything tonight/tomorrow....I was just wondering if this method would work on an ALR Projector screen ? Material looks pretty similar, but hard to tell for sure. Mine says it's Polyester but it kinda rustles, so not cloth like. TIA

    • @LearningandTechnology
      @LearningandTechnology  11 месяцев назад

      I would not do this on anything but cloth. The hot water relaxes the fibres of the cloth and that is what allows it to flatten.
      Any other material might be water repellent and then this would not work.
      Certain greenscreen materials should not wrinkle to start with.
      You may wish to try a small wrinkled area and see if this method relaxes the material and takes the wrinkle out.
