Actually, personally I don't think that it is a trick or something of this sort, since sometimes main chip adopted in older versions of devices may be outdated. Devices' performance need to be improved, therefore, older chip may be abandoned and newer chip may be adopted. For example, this up-to-date WS-6979 meter now supports 10 bits, while various older versions cannot, only up to 8 bits. Surely, other difference exists. I share with you info based on our know, as to more details, undoubtedly engineers of SATLINK can offer since it is SATLINK who design the devices.
Hi. What we displayed is currently the newest device on market, regarding WS-6979 meter. If it is some older version of WS-6979 meter, it will be incompatible with up-to-date version. Though under the same model name of WS-6979 and similar appearance, the actual circuit design and chip solution are perhaps changed. Info is quickly share with you, in the responsible attitude. Hi, I purchased this meter some time ago, a Satlink WS-6979 and I can't find the satellites anymore. Is it possible to have the latest firmware update in Italy? Thank you
Dear friend. Different versions of WS-6979 meters will perhaps be incompatible, since SATLINK did some hardware update/ change. So, regarding any updated version of firmware for WS-6979 meter, it will be more recommended that you directly reach your vendor. More details will be offered by your vendor, I think. Regards.
@@lilyyan5645 Hi, thanks for replying to me....I've already tried but maybe the retailer no longer exists or has changed its name, I don't know but I can't contact them anymore....if you want I can send you photos of the screens and the model which is identical to what you have on the video but it definitely has different software and hardware because the screen is different from what you show on the video.....I don't even know how to understand what version of hw and fw you have installed on board this machine which I believe is a good compromise except that I can't find any signal of a corresponding satellite set... I would be grateful if you could help me fix it at least to make it work correctly.... thanks in advance for your kindness I'm not at home now but as soon as I get back I'll send you a little video or photo of the screens and the meter.....I'd be happy to stay in touch with you, maybe I don't know if it's possible to exchange contact details via WhatsApp for a direct discussion if you'd like okay...thanks so much again

My device does not have that firmware and it is the same model. Where can I get the new firmware?
