- Hi, this video shows you how to use the CAST SCREEN feature on your ANDROID mobile phone to view the content on you phone on your TV WITHOUT using any wires. It is great for watching RUclips, Netflix and sharing your pictures/videos.

There is no "cast screen" option under display settings.

You might want to specify the Android version (at least in the title). On a Marshmallow device neither the cast icon, nor the option Cast Screen are anywhere to be found....
For me it still says no nearby devices were found

It's a very good tutorial and just what I had been searching for. And even though it didn't work for me it helped me learn that my phone doesn't mirror. At least not without rooting, as per some articles. But I tried it on my sister's Moto X Play and it works flawlessly and super easily. So thank you.

Exactly what I needed except my phone doesnt give me the "dropdown" to select the enabled wireless settings (ZMAX PRO). Any ideas?

What about if you don't have "Cast screen" on your drop down settings nor in phone settings? I have a Samsung Galaxy s9. I can only cast RUclips but not my typical phone use

Hi Vince, thank you for the clear video. I enable "cast screen" and "wireless display" exactly as you do, but my smartTV Philips is not seen. What is the name of the protocol that the smartTV has to support in order to be able to cast my mobile screen onto it? Oh, btw, RUclips app is able to see my smartTV and cast the display onto it. But no other app can do that, apparently. Best.

Hi Vince, have you done a video on how to cast or mirror a device to a non-smart TV? There are clone type devices of Chromecast that you can plug into an hdmi port and wirelessly mirror the screen of your phone or tablet. They are not as limited as Chromecast, though. Some common names are EZcast, Easycast, Wecast, Anycast, Measy, etc... There are so many it's confusing, but for under $20 they seem worth trying. Thanks

Ah, just to give an update. I bought a Belkin Miracast device for my note 4. I did not like it. It usualky took a few times to connect, it would sometimes freeze and need a reset, it had a noticable lag, but the worst part was the limited color palate. When the image showed fog or small shading differences you could clearly see the color bands.
I gave up on it and went wired. That fixed all the problems and the image quality is great.
JasonWW2000 I use Push2TV2000, fine for videos and pics, but lag for games. Low cost and been using for hours daily for 5 years. USB power in. HDMI out. small box

I haven't tried this yet, mainly because I don't want to get highly frustrated by technically (happens a lot), but would there be a way to get my boyfriend's phone on the TV or laptop if his screen is completely shattered? ... And if I can't do it the way described in the video bc my screen is shattered, there's got to be a way with some wires? Thanks in advance.

do we have to switch on anything on the TV? As you have connected to your TV by clicking on the nearby TV results using the cast screen option in your android.

I just recently discovered the mirroring feature of my android phone. When I first used it, it worked fine. Well, I had to try to figure out on my own just how I got the feature to work and how to get it to come back on my TV, after turning both my phone and TV off for awhile. - I have an LG smart TV. and SMART VIEW as my mirroring app which came on my phone - And, I was able to watch and listen to my phone on my TV at first. Then, after pressing a few buttons to try and figure out the way to make the mirroring feature work again, I began having trouble with the sound and picture coming from my phone to my TV. I believe I have the sound problem fixed, but, I'm still having trouble with being able to mirror the picture. All I can get to show is like a digital equalizer with dots showing/blinking while the sound plays over my TV speakers. I'd like to be able to have the sound coming from my sound system I have hooked up to my TV. Mostly, though, I need to figure out how to mirror the picture again. Would you possibly know what I can try to do so that I will be able to view the picture again ? I appreciate your help and advice.
QUESTION: Can you use the TANGO app, and app that lets you visit live with another phone, and project it on the tv for crowd viewing?

Im trying to do this on a Samsung Galaxy S6. when it comes up with no devices found it does not give me more options or settings. i used to do it all the time no problem and thi evening my phone jut cant find the TV, whats even stranger is that it still works if im in youtube or netflix but wont allow me to cast my videos anymore... any ideas?
