Thank you so much, i was so frustrated because I didn't realize I was watching outdated videos. You explained it perfect! It worked right away! Subscribed!
I am so new to design space its actually overwhelming. Thank you this is so great to know. I need to subscribe and tip toe through your back log.. Big thanks and hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
Oh you are a lifesaver! I have been looking for a South African based design space person to follow, so I'm ecstatic to have found you. Super easy to follow and now I know another little thing to do with my Cricut - thank you!!!
Hi Kelly. You posted this as if for me personally. I know DS could pattern but I couldn't, for life nor money, figure it out! Thank you so much! Also huge thank you for keeping it short and to the point.
I was so overwhelmed, frustrated and pressured to finish making tshirts for my daughters birthday. Your video saved me!!! Thank you so much. All the other videos on RUclips were outdated and a waste of my darn time. Thank you for your gentle & friendly tone.
Oh wait.. I’m still freaking out. The pattern is now in the shape I created, but Cricut is sending pattern to printer vs cutting the shape. What can I do? Anyone have any recommendations?
oh no! So the pattern feature is used with print then cut, unfortunately not with the cut feature (it will only cut the outline). If you want to cut a pattern, I would suggest uploading the pattern as a cut image, and then slice the plain pattern with whatever shape you want the machine to cut! :)
Thank you. Clear instructions. And you are so pleasant. I've been hunting for these instructions and none matched up to what is now in DS. So I looked for the newest one and it was yours and you explained that immediately. I like also how you let us see what happened if you miss a step and how to quickly correct it. Excellent. Liked and sbscribed.
Thank you!!! It’s been a while since I’ve used the pattern fill and when I just went to use it, it was gone from the original area!! Gotta love RUclips and channels like yours!! Thanks!!
I was looking for the pattern feature and couldn't find it. I was a bit frustrated, because I have used before, although it has been a while. Of course I turned to RUclips and your video popped up. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this & your older digital paper videos, Kelly! I purchased some but wasn’t quite sure how to use them. With some of the more recent updates to CDS, I think this is a great way to use our Cricut & I think it’s underutilized. Would you have any newer videos that also mentions materials we can use & blanks suggestions?
You are so welcome! Are you referring to paper crafts? I have quite a few paper crafting videos on my channel, you are welcome to check them out on my main channel page!
Hi Kelly! Thank you for a great video. As a US Cricut user, I just wanted to let you know the cut dimensions in inches are 6.75 x 9.25. Thanks again!! :D
Sorry, one more question- you seem to be the most informative resource Ive found :) I was able to follow your instructions and create a fill for a simple design. I would like to fill an envelope template I have but the same process doesnt work for it? Maybe because they are mostly cut lines? Is there a way to group connected lines to create a fillable shape?
Happy to be able to help! You would need to ensure that the design is enclosed when you upload it into Design Space unfortunately. Or recreate the item in Design Space :)
HI Kelly, great, clear video. Can you please tell me how to delete a pattern I have designed myself and downloaded into CDS? I did one as a practise and no longer want it as an option. Thanks.
Hi! thank you for the updated version of this! your video helped me so much:) I have another question, following your instructions i was able to upload my picture to my shape, but its only giving me the option of repeat pattern, when i only need it singly. is there anyway around this please?
Ah well done! It may be easier to upload the picture normally and then slice the image instead of using it as a pattern. Otherwise you can click on the settings option on the pattern panel (bottom left corner, under the pictures), and there you will be able to change the zoom, angle and more!
Thank you for this video! easy to follow and just what I needed. Only question is, what if you edit the pattern to how you want it to fit the shape, but it doesn't stick when you exit out of editing the pattern?
thank you for the great tutorial. I tried what you did but when I edit my pattern it does not save the changes back to my fill item. I imported a picture and it came in as a tiled version (multiple copies) rather than a single image so I increased it in edit and it looked great in the edit feature but when I click the X to close edit it goes back to the original smaller tiled multiple image. Am I missing a step in the process?
You are so welcome! I have had the same issue with the pattern, its very frustrating but probably just a bug in the system at the moment that Im sure will be fixed with a future update :)
Hi there! Thank you 💙 I recently had this issue too, I restarted my computer and it resolved the problem for me. If this doesnt work I am not sure what else you can try unfortunately :(
Great video. Is there a way to delete a custom pattern that I have uploaded.... I looked for the option and have not found a solution yet. Any help is a appreciated.... Thanks
Thank you for this helpful video! I am new and was wondering how do I delete an image in the print and cut pattern selection that I downloaded? Thanks it’s where you would pick a pattern.
Thank you it is very helpful. I have a question what material do you use and where to print and cut? Learning about Design Space and this feature isn't mention enough besides i don't understand yet what mention above. Thanks in advance
Great tutorial. Do you know if there is some way to make those patterns larger as you are scrolling through them? If I recall, a handful of years ago they were much larger. It is near to impossible to view them in such small thumbnails. Not sure why Cricut made them smaller but truly would love if they were larger when viewing.
I am brand new to Cricut and this video really is so helpful. Thank you. Here's where I am confused. Does Print then Cut mean that I have to print first on a regular printer (problematic because my printer can't handle thick card stock) and then put in the Cricut? I have all the Cricut pens and thought they would do the job. Help!
Im so glad you enjoyed it! Yes, you have to use a printer. If you want to use a pattern, you will have to load it as an image and manipulate the image a little using the contour feature :) You can check out this video ruclips.net/video/9IrFIG_ZaG8/видео.html
I want to make a pattern of diagonal cut lines; not print then cut. I want it to be a template to wrap around a cup so the print then cut feature is not good forme. How can I do that?
I havent tried this, but I would imagine that in order to do this you would insert cut lines (in the shapes panel) and orient them diagonally. Ill take a look into it at some point and see if I can do a video on it in the future :)
I can’t find the screen that shows color and pattern options?? I change to print and cut, click the shape and just goes back to where I change between pen, basic, print then cut. How do you find the box that says color type? Does this not work on my mobile I phone?
When I go to where it says material colors it does not show pattern as a drop down option. I'm using Cricut Design Space Version 7.15.121, in your video im not sure if it has changed since latest new release of Cricut Design space and they may have got rid of drop down or it maybe me doing this wrong like doing a wrong step.
I cant see my pattern fill options in my upload library? I didnt see it upload so I kept uploading the same print patterns and now would like to delete them. I also would like to edit out/delete any patterns I would never use to streamline my drop down options. How to I delete a pattern?
If like me you've uploaded a pattern numerous times because you didn't realise it saved to a different place is there a way of deleting the extra patterns that you don't want out of the pattern folder? Thanks in advance
Hi Teri, I cover this within the first minute of the video, you need to change it to a print then cut and then change the colour, to see what I mean please give the video another watch :)

gosh! thanks! I was getting frustrated with all the others YT videos until I decided to add 2021 to my search!

Thanks so much! If you upload a transparent PNG you can add another shape behind it and change the background colour to the pattern
Thank you - now I know where the pattern button went - thank goodness it’s still there lol
hehe you are most welcome !
Hi Kelly, where can I download patters if I do not want to use these on cricut? Thanks
Hi Jade! You will need to buy designs from places like Silhouette Design Store, SoFontsy, Creative Fabrica, etc, and upload them :)
Can I also use this on an svg file not from shapes?
SVGs are unfortunately compatible with patterns
Hi there can I “scale” an uploaded image or can we only scale a uploaded pattern ?
Hi Darlene, you cant have an uploaded image tiled when you scale it - no, You would need to do that manually if you want the uploaded image repeated

Hi Nick
You need to change it to print then cut!
Can we change the pattern color ?
As it is an image you are uploading - no you cannot.
Can this be done on cell phone Cricut app?
Unfortunately not yet :(
Do you know how to DELETE a pattern you uploaded? Can't figure it out in newest Design Space program.
That function is unfortunately not yet available in DS :(
I have a cricut joy which can not utilize print then cut, does that mean I can't use patterns?
Unfortunately so. However, there are "hacks" for print then cut and the Joy, I dont have a video on it yet, but there are other channels that do :)

This is Cricut Design Space :)
I tried what you said. I am on my iPad and it does not allow me to do any of that. Is it because its an iPad.
unfortunately it does look like this isnt available on an iPad - I checked mine too and I cant see it either
