Just drove one 2 hours, did amazing. I'm not a big Ford guy, as I'm happily married to Lexus. Those 3.5 V6 Fords they make are something special. I know a guy with a Ford Edge 3.5 V6, it has one cylinder completely out and that car still runs 2 years later as his daily. It ticks and shakes, but the AC works, the radio works, the lights all work, power steering is still good, and the transmission is stronger than Popeyes on spinach, no joke. Once he raced a newer Kia and won, no cap as kids say. I have a lot of respect for Ford. I should have known Ford was a good car as a kid. My mom drove a 1990s Crown Victoria, a beautiful car with a lot of space. I remember having 6 people in the back seat at one point, and nobody was complaining. Good old days.
My 2020 Kia Sorento SX AWD with it's 3.3L 290hp & 252lbs torque sounds nearly identical. Their is nothing like a naturally aspirated V6 engine no turbos to worry about. I love the power and the exhaust note on cold start & acceleration with my vehicle.
Engine sounds nice! Anyone else notice the Honda Pilot at 2:42? Probably the only time anyone in Germany has seen either of these cars and they’re next to each other!
@@nilssjoberg2522 Agreed considering the regular V6 and the Twin Turbo get the same gas mileage. It may be overkill in warranting the higher price of the 365hp engine. It does suck though that they didn't offer it on the Limited model. And only the Platinum and Sport.
What stance do yall use? We use the default one but I feel like something is off. Sometimes it doesn't shift when it needs to or is it normal for this car to do that? Edit: by stance I mean driving mode

Ford has the best American sounding v6 specially the 3.5l
I would have to agree! it sounds so good!
The 3.7 also sounds pretty good
The Dodge V6 sounds better imo
Good sounding motor, but I’m not liking the fake engine notes from the 2.7, 3.0 and 3.5 EcoBoost engines.
@@La-yt1wrso these motor sounds are fake ?
2:08 literally sounds like heaven!!
I own a 2018 explorer with this exact engine, it's a blast driving anywhere
My mom has this car. It drives like a dream, fast too. Definitely safer than my focus lol
Try driving a 3.6 Traverse. Definetley faster
@tylerthegamer4550 perhaps, not worth the timing chain and alternator 😬

Hope you can do one with the 3.5 Ecoboost as well!
I had one for a week as a loaner while my car was getting repaired. At higher speeds it’s still a big SUV, but it pulls like a train from 20-80mph
You gotta put it in sport really makes a difference
SOUNDS SO GOOD 💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥
The na 3.5s sound good and thats coming from a 3.5 ecoboost owner
Sports mode is so much more responsive!
My fuel bar would have moved on that run.
is 1/4 a tank 50 miles to empty on that spec too?
Most definitely is, a full tank with this engine can range from 270-340
The 3.5 doesn't really pull as well without the Ecoboost. I drove a 2019 290 hp isn't really enough for it's weight. Now 365 is. Huge difference.
Definitely needs the EcoBoost option. The naturally aspirated 3.5 is taxed hauling all that weight
For the size of this vehicle i don't think the naturally aspirated V6 did to bad at all...!!!
@@tomtalker2000 I personally think the intake noise is quite nice!

Is this engine and this model explorer reliable?
Was this in sport mode ?
It’s begging to adjust that top speed limiter
Yeah this was definitely imported from the states, it’s still has the American spec license plate bracket.
Thats not American spec lol. Its too small and square
I got a 2017 ford taurus with 3.5l it's more fun to drive if you put premium gas in it
Very good video 😁😃👍🚗

Hello. Could you please tell me who the motor manufacturer is. I'm assuming it's not Ford. Thanks
Ford needs immediately a new interior design.
These nice cars do not deserve that interior...
Well, the title states with is a 2017 Explorer, not a current model. Since then, Ford has redesigned the entire vehicle outside and inside.
this is an older explorer, the newer one is very improved
@@summrsexclaimed The newer interior looks better, but the quality went down sadly. I'm hoping they improve the QC on the new Explorer.
I MUCH prefer the 2017-2018 look both inside and out. Over the new 2020 and above models. The older models look like a Landrover.
@@tomtalker2000 new outside old inside design that would be good personally
