I was always told darker colours during overcast days and bright colours on sunny days, size I tend to go by how I feel on the day, if I’m in my yak I normally use smaller ones, bigger if I’m on a jetty so I can cast and retrieve further 🤷‍♂️🍻 at night I’ll use white or glow style jigs

Yeah I’m kinda the same way, dark on dark and light on light. Will prove that theory in future videos

@@AdriftFishing I look forward to it! Would be good to see some comparisons, I mean in the end it’s all anecdotal I guess, but I know for sure they won’t hit the same jig if they manage to come off after being hooked, and I know they do have preferences coz I’d sit for hours at Jerry’s as a kid and watch the squid in the water and u could swap the jogs out and they wouldn’t even look at it then u get the right one and they’ll take it 🤷‍♂️ I don’t know for sure if that a time of day or it could be related to the time of year or even just each individual squid might have different preferences 🤔🤷‍♂️😂 but if u can use a camera on them and have consistent hookups on certain colours it would be very interesting to see what u end up with! 👊🍻🥰

Plenty in oz. Still plenty in spots around Auckland. Just not the spots everyone goes too.
My bro Mike still does well.
