Hwoarang has the most appealing fighting style in Tekken. He is so realistically fun to watch and play with.
So a couple things as a hwoarang player. you forgot LFS uf4 buff/nerf and you also made the mistake of saying his combo damage was nerfed on walls. When actually, since doing the new S2 bnb its actually close to the same. Even more if you do the ss33 wall ender. Also with his punch parry he can do 4f4 for rff +6 4,3 lff +5 and 44 into RFS as you mentioned. But he can also do 1,2 free to also get into flamingo and mixup that way.
Overall still a good video.
Cheers, appreciate the feedback. Reason we left out the LFS uf+4 changes is because it doesn't really affect his game much, and this video was already a bit overlong.
Yeah should have brought up 4, f+4 as an option after punch parry if you want to go into RFF. Our bad. There's not much reason to use 1,2 though as you deal quite a bit less damage, unless you really want to go into LFS.
Regarding walless / walled combos, yeah you can use the S2 bnb but it lacks flexibility and doesn't work with all combo starters. If conditions are absolutely right yes he does more damage even on walled stages, but I think in a real match more often than not it's less than before.
@@ThatBlastedSalami The LFS UF4 change actually does change his game a fair bit by making LFS a dangerous stance as well, not as much as RFS of course but still pretty good.

power crush is bs mechanic in general but they should make it that it also doesn't crush through nh and ch knockdowns and launchers. it should only crush through pokes.
Do you mean backlash? On paper, being a slow powercrush high it's not actually all that great. If you keep your pressure compact you should have enough time to comfortably duck even after having jab strings or a df1 absorbed and launch Hwoarang.
What makes this move so strong in practice though is the incredibly short recovery on whiff, making it an amazing keep out move. I think they should have reduced this just a notch for S2, similar to what they did for Claudio / Shaheen hopkicks.
I generally don't try to whiff punish him afterwards, but instead use it as an opportunity to get in and pressure Hwoarang. He lacks strong defensive options upclose, so a Hwoarang that abuses backlash can quickly be overwhelmed.

@@ThatBlastedSalami regardless if it's a high it's still bullshit. it either shouldn't launch or shouldn't power crush. it should not be both, especially with it's hit damage, hell no. a power crush wall bounce as much as still absurd i could live with but a power crush launcher is ridiculous!
Every character has at least 1 power crush with their own advantages and disadvantages, it sounds like you just need to get with the current era of Tekken

Lol. I don't have trouble defending at all. I hate him for the same reason I hate Claudio, Jin and Steve. More of an aesthetic thing really. Especially after he got the eyepatch.

So basically Hwoarang was already OP and now he is even more OP? I just played against this character online in ranked match, and he was sidestepping Master Raven's specifically un-sidesteppable reverse spin kick (it didn't even look like he was side stepping and it was just going through his chest without doing any damage...). Not only that, I couldn't side step his kicks at all getting off the ground. It also seems like M Raven also deals less damage now with the only real difference being a second powercrush added with her back turned.
1:30 better at getting in you say? now that's a buff all dudes can appreciate.

His "Sparta" kick now deals less damage... 2 F*CKING POINTS LESS DAMAGE.
It's also slightly more negative on block (-6 to -7) but yeah a minor nerf overall. This move's biggest weakness is still it's linearity.

keep trying man. I'd recommend watching Speedkicks (American Hwoarang player) and Asellas (Korean Hwoarang player), you have to persist. 2 weeks ago, I couldn't do Bryan's Taunt Jet Upper which is notoriously known as one of, if not, the HARDEST move in the game. Now in training mode, I can do it consistently. Dedication and time is all you need.

This is what i thought about 1 week ago. I was thinking about stopping to learn him, but hwoarang is just the only character i want to play beside my main Lee. I keep learning by watching MadDogJin's videos, went to practice mode over and over again and now i'm starting to be able to control most of his movements. Hwoarang is one of the hardest characters in the game. Learning his full potential will take efforts, but in the end it's worth it.
@@leonardojivalino9310 definetly, learning by watching is always good especially with hwoarang because he has so many options in nearly every situation. I tried to cover that too in my guide
