i wish dps would push cart in my ranked games. even in top 500 people make ana push the cart on these high-ground heavy points and she'll never be able to rotate to a good spot by the time the cart gets to the spot where she'd back away from it. Forcing ana on cart on a high ground point just guarantees that you won't be able to snowball this point
It’s crazy how different below masters ranked is to Pro play. When I pick Ana I’m just asking myself if their flanker is bad enough for me to duel so I can take the garbage out and then do my job.
A cool thing at 6:04 is that he backs up into the tiny door where Winston only has one way to jump at him, therefore making it easier to hit the sleep. Because he knows the Winston is going to try to jump to him
36:21 If I'm not wrong, Cal's nade missed because it hit Winston on the dive upwards, (thrown at 36:05) super lucky for Rupal. I don't think Vega was in a position to block nade, either. Would sleep have mattered in this situation, especially at this level when callouts for nades draw actual followup? Still crazy gameplay. Masterclass video.
7:48 Here, they don't have bubble/primal/Nano, no threat, we've more resources -> we push (and even leaving the highground). If we don't kill the enemy team at this timing (10-15s), monkey will have bubble back + primal and Ana won't be in the safe place which is the highground. So, are we supposed to always push and use CDs aggressively when our team has resources advantage and "gamble" the fact that if we don't win the fight at this timing, we're in terrible position?
so the tl;dw of this is that ana/brig is good when winston is meta. Winston is meta when Orisa or hog are bad. Obviously hog is great in ranked right now, but he seems easy to punish at the pro level. Also, this is a great Winston map, so of course he'll be played more than his fair share there. Nearly always a settled competitive meta forms when the best answer to a comp is its mirror (or a slight variation of it). This happened with goats, with double barrier, Zarya meta from early ow2, etc. When the answer to a comp is an entirely different comp, the meta isn't fully settled out yet (in most cases I can think of). Maybe I'm wrong about this, idk... I'm no expert.
Why didn't Rupal play Bap in this situation then, I feel like it'd make diving their backline even harder and give his Brig better ability to facilitate the DPS. Is it because of Cass?
It's not just about preventing the enemy's dive, but also enabling their own. Bap helps prevent a dive, but doesn't enable one. His cooldowns are too long for the tempo of a dive comp, plus it is way more difficult to provide support from a distance due to the projectile drop of the heals.
I wonder what this game would be like if you didn't have to ult track in your head and could just see enemy ult charge. It's a major barrier to my improvement because I simply cannot be fucked to track that stuff. I want to enjoy myself at the end of the day and ult tracking is not fun, personally.
i mean i guess technically you dont have too but its pretty simple to understand ‘hey its been 2 minutes and this guy looks like he’s about to set up for something’ wouldn’t hurt to track cd’s , i think its part of the fun personally.
"Cannot be assed" to track ults is the exact reason why you cannot track them. Improvement comes with intention. At a certain level, you no longer consciously think about ult charge, you *feel* ults. It's been x amount of time, y has ultimate. Or you can hold tab and look at DMG/Heal numbers and compare to ult cost + time spent in game. "Hey, this Tracer has 2.2k damage and hasn't used pulse yet, she has it." It comes with time.
Before any more people comment, yes I rely on instinct and try to read enemy cues, but I'm just thinking about enough things when playing the game and I don't find it enjoyable to *actively* track enemy ults and abilities, which is something which is expected of people who play at a high level. Specifically, I mean calling out which enemies used ults last fight, and then actively tracking the performance of 1 or more of them. I've done well enough to get to diamond/masters using my intuition though.
Who's your favorite support duo hero?
Chiyo&Fielder
I mean Ana Brig😹
Well yeah gotta be chiyo fielder
pge & seeker

Crazy that there is this high level of play. Yet Korean/China back lines like Chiyo, Fielder, Mmonk, etc all play at an ever higher level of Ana Brig
Because they either do well or don't eat, motivation is very important

I'm no Spilo, but Bap is ass with winton?
because winston is really good on paraiso and bap doesn't really function too well with big gorilla
Yeah, Ana is way better supporting people at distance. She can heal Winton, Tracer or Echo during the dive to make the pressure last longer
Yeah also nano is just better than window in this situation

start by tracking your team’s ults then since you can just look and press a button!

Unstoppable untill they faced EU Teams 😹
How to play Ana in 2024:
Step 1: Get a Brig that babysits you nonstop bc otherwise you just fall over
Most overrated duo. Easily stoppable outside of Mickey Mouse region
You're in gold
Seeing this made me glad I stop playing ow2. Good team work though, just every role gets to Duo besides my role.
