The Curado 301 works for my Northern Pike fishing. I was considering the Tranx. But I fish from the shore and reckoned the extra weight wasn't needed. I like a slow gear ratio too.
Most of my lures are under 3 ounces. So far so good.

Been using the 300k for 3 years and it’s still running strong for me. Might have to pickup a tranx as well for another setup.

I always wanted to try the TranX but I doubt I’ll ever be able to put that much in a reel but I love throwing glides!

Good video. I am looking at both of these and your video helped a lot. I am new to freshwater swimbait fishing for bass. I am using 2oz 6" Hud ROF 5 baits on a Phenix M1 8'2" 15-35lb and a 20-45lb. I just liked & subbed and looked thru your videos briefly, for one on swimbait line recommendations ? What would you recommend if I chose either of these two reels / rods setups ? Thanks much!!!

They share almost all the same components, even the spools are exactly the same. So it is no surprise that they are almost identical to use. I have several Tranx and Curado K, which I use for pike fishing - so all kinds of methods, from jerk baits, swim baits, top waters, etc. I can't separate them, other than the Tranx feels a smidge smoother. Boils down to aesthetics, price and they key one - are you going to use in saltwater. I think people try to kid themselves that the Tranx is better somehow, when all you're paying extra for is proofing against saltwater. LOL.

I have both. The tranx can handle my usage. The curador keeps breaking from use.

You don’t need the Tranx for Swimbait fishing. I’m not a fan of the breaks on the Tranx 300 wish they would have used the SVS infinity breaks from the Curado. I really like the Lews Superduty 300 over both of them because it has a dual breaking system

Not to be that guy but me personally; I think it’s pronounced Tran-X but I could be wrong
