I lived there for 2 years and agree with almost everything. A Portuguese once told me: "We have a cold climate with a hot sun". From 5pm onwards, a cool wind blows every day, sweeping your wine bottle off the table. My biggest problem was finding an apartment for long-term rent at a reasonable price (under 1000 euros). Most of the apartments and houses are vacation homes, reserved for the summer months. Once I found an apartment, I was surrounded by a plethora of dogs barking 24/7. They drove me crazy and made me leave.
Misleading - $1200 per month for rent is not living in the Algarve for $1200 per month
One of the best concise videos touching on the key points I am interested in. Great job
Please clarify these costs.....
Since you have a car , don't miss the "Festa Medieval" Silves (09/17 August)
Did she say rent (with HOA-like fees) is $7300 a month? USD? 😮
That’s what I heard - I assumed she meant $1700
They need to clarify these costs!!
she owns a business. probably rich.
She lives in a big house with a pool that cost like 800,000 euros to buy; so yes she meant 7,300 a month. Note she always says dollars when the numbers are actually in euros. so if something is 1,200 euros she will say 1,200 dollars.
This title is very misleading..... it should at least put in small letters that's for rent only ..... what about utilities, food, transportation, etc? I'd like to hear from a person actually doing this. I have a friend who retired to a cheaper in land town (in mid Portugal ) and she's having a hard time on her $1500. USA Social Security for her monthly expenses.....
Put country in the title
$1200 for one bdrm is not a deal.
Compared to some other cities in the United States and Canada, it is.
In Chicago, $1200 gets you a studio in an old building with no view. In NY, forget about it. So, $1200 doesn't seem too bad to live in a hoppin town with nice beaches and great weather
Is it in Albufeira. You can get much cheaper one bedrooms all over Portugal, but Albufeira is a coveted haven for expats, and priced accordingly. Thanks for watching. Glenda
All depends on the location ! if you want cheap go inland, but if you want sea views / walking distance, then break the bank.
Why Hawaiian may I ask? Have you lived in Hawaii?
Me? Yes I live in Hawaii....
LOL. I never lived in Hawaii, although I was in and out of Waikiki for work for a couple of years. I actually was a dancer years ago, owned a dance studio and taught all kinds of dance, including Hawaiian. Thanks for watching. Glenda
Oh ok I’m from Hawaii, born and partially raised but now in California and do have part Portuguese so I thought you taught hula because you must be Portuguese and originally from Hawaii lol.
This lovely lady is over 65?? I need to eat whatever she's enjoying there.
That's awfully kind of you, Morgan. Made my day. Thank you. Glenda
@@glendacole5797 No worries. I suspect you get plenty of compliments. Keep posting more videos about this location please.
Wanna know the secret? Wine is very affordable in Portugal...
@@SERGIO-cr6uy Love the port wines.
Too many expats.
What? No guns ? How do the good guys fight the bad guys? No deal. Nobody’s gonna take my guns away from me. I have a property to defend!
😂Please stay in the US.
You're just a troll. Not even your own mum laughs at your so called humour.
