I have the same exhaust. For the first few weeks I couldn't take the drone, almost switched out. The drone subsides overtime (>3500 km)... Sound gets deeper, sounds good now; 2019 type r.
@@mickyo9223I have grown accustomed to it but since the pandemic I don't drive my car as much. Its just stored in the garage lol. Are you thinking about getting it? If I could do it again I would probably stay stock or get the armytrix so I can toggle the exhaust sound

I see some people heat wrapping the front pipe. I just got the R400 as well and I’m about to get it installed. Are you noticing any overheating issues?
That garage needs to get a more modern lift, what the heck... you almost scraped. Also why you rolling around with that boat on the top of your CTR, you’ll crew up the weight shift when cornering, not to mention aerodynamic
@@CamelCS yes it's calmed down. I got about 2k miles on the exhaust and it's backed off a lot. Don't get me wrong they're so drone between 3k to 4K rpm. But it's doable for my taste and the exhaust sounds great. You still get a little bit of crackle between shifts and when you let off the throttle
I had it lasted a week on my type r put back stock exhuast with prl front pipe ,its a very nice piece of work no dought gives the type r more air flow also nice rumble ,but it drones way to much on high RPM , and thats with stock downpipe cant imagine it with a non catted downpipe
gravityhammer25 I checked both and to me the milltek just sounds raspier (cause of no resonator) to me, not necessarily better. The AWE sounds aggressive and loud but smoother/refined through the rpm range... but then I guess sound of those will be subjective to personal choice but they definitely sound a lot better than this.
gravityhammer25 since I was going to actually spend the money on it I checked what I thought sounded the best to me and the AWE Touring is what stood out. Plus it’s modular so I can swap the cat out for a test pipe with no issue and back to catted when I need it.

I installed this exhaust on my FK8 3 days ago and i got that exact whistle when going WOT ! I don't know if that's a leak or a "spooling sound"...

I believe just a tad in the beginning also the drone is pretty loud as well, but drive it for a bit and it goes away
