- These chewy DIY pure fruit roll ups are a cinch to make and much healthier than the store bought kind! Also, it is a great way to use up some of the summer's fruit harvest too!
Plum Fruit Leather:
6 lbs of plums ( washed, cut in half, seeds removed)
3 tbsp's honey (adjust to your taste or use sugar or no sweetener at all)
1. Roast fruit on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet (with sides to catch drips) in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes.
2. Puree fruit, spread evenly onto 2 parchment paper lined cookie sheets and dehydrate using a food dehydrator or place in oven at 170 degrees F (76.7 degrees C) with the door slightly propped open. If your oven temperature will go down to 140 degrees F, you don't need to prop door open.
Usually takes 7 to 8 hours. Oven temperatures vary so remove from oven when fruit leather no longer feels sticky. You may need to trim edges if they dehydrate faster than the middle.
3. Cut into strips, remove parchment paper before consuming.
~Store in airtight container in fridge. (If there is any moisture left in fruit leather, you don't want to run the risk of it getting moldy life you leave it out on the counter).

Alana, can we use the same directions to make a different fruit? say apples or strawberries?
Sure can...I love strawberry and also a strawberry kiwi combo too! Apple would also be lovely!
If the plums are ripe n fall apart when you deseed then, do you still need to put it in the oven?
Hi there! I would just because they would have that much more juice in them when over ripe, so roasting them first helps remove extra moisture. Also, it will reduce the juices and make them more concentrated and sweet. It will cut down on the amount of time it will take for you to dehydrate the plum puree as well. I hope that helps and thank you very much for watching! Take care and have a great day!
Oh wow ok great thanks so much 🙏 I'm now going to get started. Have a great day love your video thanks for sharing
