Every time you give us a thumbs up a Narwhal gets its horn! (maybe..)
Robin Williams crushed this role. He truly made his mark on the film. 👍

Me too
You and the Carlin bro’s should totally collab! I’d love to see that!
May he Rest In Peace
I agree with you about knowing who the voice actor is can be distracting. Especially if its their own regular voice. But using big name actors can be good because they can be more comfortable with adlibs and movement during recordings like Robin Williams did to add more real personality to characters. Idk its what evers
Robin Williams = LEGEND
Epic Music Movie "Heroes get remembered, but legends never die."
+berelaxed 10 "FUN" FACT.
Epic Music Movie hi
Epic Music Movie hkmji
Epic Music Movie Of course he is! I find it stunned that this video mentioned that Robin Williams as the Genie, a very iconic role of his, almost didn't happen.
I was able to name the voice actors of Ariel and Belle. I now accept that I watch too much Disney.
Me too. I'll admit I'm a wee bit obsessive
I can't remember her name, but they're voiced by the same person.
No they aren't. They considered Jodi Benson (Ariel) for Belle but decided that they wanted a more regal sounding voice for France and chose Paige O'Hara for Belle
Oh.
It's okay, always good to be in the know :)
Robin Williams as the Genie was literally the BEST!!
Richard Poole I mean, they tried to replace it, but the backlash was so great, they had to bring him back for Prince of thieves.
Favorited animated movie voice actor is Jane Lynch in Wreak it Ralph :)
Hi, Lillie and Rachel! I know I'm late but I love your videos and customs!
I ONLY watch Aladdin for the Genie. Robin Williams really did do a great job bringing him to life.
Same
I thought Abu was pretty handy...
+N Henry still wouldn't trade raja for either
You should make a theory about how the characters in the nightmare before Christmas died.
Are we sure they are dead and not simply denizens of that realm? (Think Halloweentown)
DIY Mia totally
@@travissmith2848 Jack is. He says so."Since I am dead........... And recite Shakspearen quotations." I don't know the whole thing.
You can say that Robin williams opened a WHOLE NEW WORLD of movie marketing
I laughed so hard at that
don't you dare close your eyes
שלום
Stfu and GO HOME!!!!
what?
I think that casting Will Smith as the genie is genius (get it). You cannot replace Robin Williams so you do something completely different instead. I approve of this stance
Blocky Yoda so do I! Plus it kinda gives you the feeling that the live action will be a slightly darker and more intense than the cartoon.
Plus, they added in this scenario that could’ve made the whole situation funnier. Having the genie pose as this massive, domineering figure, and then have him admit to being facetious and actually to be quite friendly.
Blocky Yoda ah thats hot
Im from the future. Yeahhhhhh.........
I'm also from the future and I absolutely loved his performance as the Genie! I think the story they added for him was great and made him this time my favourite character from the movie :3
I miss Robin Williams. RIP.
May he Rest In Peace 1953-2014
I played Genie in Aladdin as a kid and was called “Robin Williams Jr” and I have never felt prouder since.
Robin Williams will always be a hot commodity
One of my favorite choices as a voice actor was David Spade as Kuzco in "The Emperor's New Grove". Although Patrick Warburton as Kronk was a close second. Spade though pulls off the self-centered Kuzco perfectly.
RIP Robin Williams!!! He will always be the Genie!!!
I have it the opposite way, I see Eddie Murphy and I think of Donkey.
Jonathan Ewing I think of Mushu
I think of both
#RIP ROBIN WILLIAMS
Don't make me sad.
Allday Kittuppie well it was his fall
😭
I miss Robin Williams
As a person, living in another country, nobody ever cared about who voiced the characters, cause it was translated anyway. We started getting that only recently, but I know even less about actors in my country than American actors haha
Of all the movies he was in, Genie was the best in my opinion. RIP Robin we miss you. 😢
For your voice acting question, it shouldn't matter how "popular" the person is. What matters is how much effort they put into voicing their character(s) and that they have fun doing it.
Aladdin is one of my favourite movies because of Robin Williams
Wish that you can wish for more wishes. Wish for more wishes. Boom.
at least you're not wishing infinite wishes
This is an amazing comment.
Chess Player Genie: I neglected to mention, NO wishing to be able to wish for more wishes!
i wish i could be able to wish for more wishes. Boom
Alexandra Edraos
Wish 1: I wish that I can wish that I can wish for more wishes
Wish 2: I wish that I can wish for more wishes
Wish 3: I wish for (insert number) more wishes
danny devito who voice phil in hercules is def my favourite disney voice actor
viperkilla123 Nah, James Woods as Hades is the best
Alex Stark James woods is that icky old guy tho isn't he?
Have you ever heard of Tara Strong?
As a big fan of voice actors and actresses (mostly Japanese), I can tell you that it does matter who is casted! Different people ultimately give different performances and perfect casting is essential. Not just the vocal tone but the acting itself! It's especially amazing to see two very different characters voices by the same person! It's like regular acting but with voices (which should be obvious but people don't put as much importance into it so )
1:45 HEY! Eddie got a BAFTA nomination for his Donkey performance, first voice actor to ever receive a major award show nomination.
I'm talking about competitive awards only btw
Robin Williams was such a brilliant, wonderful man. Hearing about all the steps he took to make sure he /wasn't/ made into the star of the show makes me respect him even more than I already did.
*_Hey Brother!!!_*
Jerry Gurrola your not my brother
jacob trang do you not watch SuperCarlinBrothers? Maybe you are new. I don't mean to be rude.
jacob trang also You're*
Modded Marshmallow wow that joke went a mile over your head
Modded Marshmallow Ji knew the pun it just he’s not my brother lol
I absolutely loved Robin Williams in this movie. He did such an incredible job voicing the genie. The world will greatly miss you Robin. You were awesome and truly put your everything into anything you did and it showed and we have incredible movies because of it. Thank you and again you will be missed dearly, rest in peace Robin.
If Aladdin was a hero his wishes would have been more like
1.End disease
2.End Poverty
3.Free all slaves (which would include the genie as he was a slave to the lamp)
Tiff Prendergast I know but what I'm saying is that he could have worded so that slaves were set free
I've never seen a Robin Williams movie that I didn't love. Jumanji and Hook were two of my favorites growing up.
My all time favorite Disney movie is Hercules and One Last Hope is one of my favorite songs and up until a few months ago, I didn’t know that Danny Devito voiced Phil.
I LOVE the Genie! He’s my favourite Disney character, hands down. I can’t imagine him being voiced by anyone other than Robin Williams.
Your not Welcome for getting "Your welcome" stuck in my head.
Now you got that stuck in my head
Robin Williams is the best. I loved him as the Genie. Well I pretty much loved him in everything he did, but the Genie was one of his best. I was sad when he passed away but when Disney posted the words "Genie, you're free" I bawled like a baby. 😢
I LOVE ROBIN WILLIAMS!!!
All the posters, pillows, toys, etc. are amazing.
Big name actors shouldn't be what an animated movie's marketing is based on. Some big name actors shouldn't even BE voice actors, or actors at all (beecause certain actors can't act and are hired more for a pretty face than anything else) but an animated film's marketing should focus on two things. the story and the animation. ya know, the most important part of a movie? I don't care who's voice acting as long as their tolerable and the movie is good but it's really hard to tell when the advertising is just shoving actors names at me and expecting me to know who they are.
if you played a voice clip of a voice actor and asked me who it was i'd just say the characters they played not them. it's not worth useing so much money to pay these people.
agreed. a lot of times the no name actors do really well. i mean actors/actresses like moana where they find new people to build up. those are often some of the best movies. probably because they could only stand on their own talent rather than a big name actor/actress to fall back on.
I’ve never watched Aladdin but I did it in a off broadway play and the genies has the best makeup and most fun doing it
Vivian Stewart Well, at least you're familiar with Aladdin's story now. Since you had some experience with the off Broadway play. So, it's all good. But I would strongly recommend that you check out "Twisted: The Story of a Royal Vizier". It's actually told from Jafar's perspective and it is really good.
Neo-Xgray87 all starkid productions are amazing and especially twisted
Vivian Stewart ckool
YOUVE NEVER WATCHED ALADDIN!!!
It's cool. I've never watched Beauty and the Beast myself.
Vivian Stewart what role u have
Robin Williams > Will Smith
MegaSoulHero same😊👍
MegaSoulHero duh
No, not that far. Will Smith is the best actor
@fact
MegaSoulHero no he is mote than a legend
"Was your plan to bribe someone that demanded to be paid less...?" (6:23)
The way he said that, so great. I can just see how that would have played out, Robin Williams was the man.
Ariel- Jodi Benson
Belle- Paige O'Hara
You asked the wrong person the right question J 😂
My fav is Robin Williams as Genie. The best performance in a Disney movie, in my opinion.
When you try to watch supercarlinbrothers but your mom keeps texting 2012 minion memez with the crying emoji
Robin Williams left us too soon. He will always be in our thoughts. He was a good man and made many laugh. Rest In Peace Robin.
Congrats on 21st on trending! Also great video!
I miss him so much.😿 he was such a great actor. Some of the first movies I remember are Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji.
It doesn't matter to me at all who is voicing the characters. What matters most to me is if they fit the role and how well the preform it. For example, in one of the MLP episodes where the singer Weird Al (I literally had to look that up just now) voiced the character Cheese Sandwich, I had no idea of it nor knew who Weird Al was. I still don't entirely know who he is even after hearing so many reviewers talk about this casting. Because of this, I came in literally blind to Cheese Sandwich being voiced by a celebrity and thus got to see Cheese Sandwich simply as Cheese Sandwich rather than Weird Al. I really enjoyed Cheese Sandwich despite still having no real idea of who Weird Al is because I genuinely liked the character written by the show writers and thought the voice was very suiting for him. I honestly never gave thought of who the voice actor was nor do I care even after learning that it was a celebrity.
On the flip side, when I first heard that Johnny Depp was going to play the Big Bad Wolf in Into The Woods, I was super excited to see him in the movie but left the theater rather disappointed. Aside from the movie being an absolute cringe fest (I really don't enjoy cringe) I was furious that one of my all time favorite actors didn't have a larger role and that his screen time was so short. I was really upset over this and it kinda ruined the movie even more for me
In my personal opinion, what matters the most is how well actors are able to portray their roles rather than their names. I'm someone who doesn't follow celebrities so I mostly look more forward to the performance rather than the big names. For me, that is what is most important. After all, sometimes focusing too much on a big name can really lead to disappointment. This I know from personal experience. Not really a fun thing to go through.
same honestly, although, after pinkie pride, I looked up some of Weird Al's songs and they were good. I recommend Eat It, a parody of Beat it, and The star wars saga, and I don't know the original song.
I also don't follow big celebrities besides the original broadway cast of Hamilton and RUclipsrs, so I don't really focus on the celebrities in movies.
HOWEVER, Daveed Diggs (Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson) will be a part of the movie wonder, and I am certainly going to see it even though I haven't read the books. and I'm not sure, but I might see Murder on the Orient Express which will feature Leslie Odem Jr. (Aaron Burr) but it depends on the rating it has. (It's PG13 I think)
I'm not expecting them to have that big of roles (Besides Daveed, I think is a supporting character) but being the Hamiltrash I am, I know for a fact that I will see it, even if it gets low reviews.
Sorry of this is long. I've been in the writing mood.
It's okay. But I think I'll pass on the Weird Al songs. Especially the Star Wars one. Don't hate me, but I really don't like Star Wars. I honestly flat out hate it. It's just not my cup of tea, I never really had the chance to get into it as my parents never really played it at home, and the one Star Wars movie my uncle made me watch ended up scarring me for life thanks to that creepy blob guy. The one who chained up girls in bikinis and fed them to a monster. Please, no one hate me for this! Everyone is free to like and dislike whatever they choose and I choose not to like Star Wars. Anyone who says I should like it, I have equal right to say that you should like something I like even though you may hate it.
I understand. I think the characters name was Jabba the Hutt and I've never seen the full trilogy (Only parts of it) but I'll let you have your opinion, freedom of speech and stuff.
Thanks
Its crazy that a LOT of people tune in every week to watch 2 guys talk about disney. U GUYS R AWESOME. ive watcged you guys for a very very long time, keep doin what ur doin
TOWEL SECTION!!!
Martin Lucas why is it called the towel section?
Anyone else just shout out "Jodi Benson and Paige O'Hara!" at 1:24
I didn't realize that marketing the voices behind the characters started with Robin Williams, but if anyone deserves it, he certainly does! It appears, tho, that it could open a can of worms at some point, and I'm surprised it has not yet for the Toy Story series. When an actor has a highly recognized voice, and can be so closely tied to a character like this, at what point can they impact the future films. For example, Disney does not promote Princess Giselle, even in her animated form, because they need to pay a license fee to Amy Adams. What if Tom Hanks included that provision in Toy Story? Or Dwayne Johnson - especially as Maui has many tattoos that align with Mr. Johnson's own? I agree that it can come with baggage - although 've heard Mike Meyers has an ogre's ego and I can see Eddie Murphy getting excited like Donkey, so that's not so far fetched.
considering how much of a "hot commodity" he was in the 90s, and how iconic, well known and legendary Robin Williams is now, it's kinda outrageous that they didn't respect his wishes and then tried to bribe him...ESPECIALLY after how well-received his role as the Genie was and still is to this day...so good thing in the end it turned out alright...
Rip robin williams you r missed
Whoah, I just came here from your latest Snow White voice actor video and this was posted around the time I started watching you! So this made me kinda nostalgic ❤️
One of my favorite voice actors has to be Dwayne Johnson as Maui
right?!
Bobby Burgess what can I say, except, you're welcome, for casting Dwayne Johnson. (And for making up fun song parodies....)
1:23 Jodi Benson and Paige O'Hara. Honestly, voice actors are my favorite actors. I can probably name more VA's than I can movie stars.
Wow that just made my day 😊😊😂😂😉 "Your Welcome" made me laugh sooooooooooooo hard that my jaws hurt 😓😊😂😂😂
Rest in Peace, Mr. Williams. Gone, but never forgotten.
Grewing up... lol I love you guys. :D
Omg! I died when Maui appeard singing "YOU'RE WELCOME" !!! 😂😂😂
I find it kind of funny how Disney tried to remove robin Williams from the flim yet his name is now shown at the end of it anytime it is on tv
My best friend’s brother is still in elementary school and they’re doing Aladdin as their school play and he is the Genie. I’m so excited to go see the play!
My favorite is Ellen's voice role and Dwyane Johnson's 😄😄
I think Disney casts famous voice talent better than any other animated studio. They don't just do it for the name, it's always someone who's actually great for the role. And they still regularly go with voice actors who are unknown or less known to the general public if that's what's best for the character. Companies like Dreamworks just go for blockbuster names every time whether the actor is good at voice acting or not and it really shows in my opinion.
The thing with popular voices is: even in other countries with other voice actors (i.e. me in germany for example) we are sometimes plastered with this. Even when they are not voiced by the regular 'stand in' (which is rare because the big-time guys regularly have regular dub-actors).. anywho: it is somehow distracting sometimes!
(Maybe the 'Dubs' should be more well known for their work, but as they are not it always struck me as stupid marketing in dubbed countries!) The voice of 'XXX' does not matter half as much as a good job, I watch for stories, not for voices!
No one can replace Robin Williams as the genie. RIP Robin
Last time I was this early, it was on my own video.
Robin Williams directly asked for the minimum wage, asked for there to not to be merchandise of the character he voiced, then turned down a million dollar gift? My respect for him and his legacy has just increased dramatically and it was already huge before.
I'd rather not know the voice actor, as picking a big name is more distracting than welcoming. That being said, outside of Robin Williams as the Genie (which was as close to perfection as voice acting is ever going to get), Gilbret Gottfried as Iago the parrot is one of my all time favorites. Didn't recognize him when I was a kid, of course, but recently re-watched Aladdin, realized that was Gottfried and it brought a huge smile to my face!
I'll always
be the
best
GENIEEEEEEEEE
You're never gonna recast me
I can’t imagine anybody else voicing the Genie. Robin Williams was incredible. I also have a lot of love for Tony Jay who voiced Frollo. His performance gave me chills.
WAIT WHAT?! Ok so. I thought you and your brother were the same person. I mean I knew there was a brother I thought I just never saw one of their videos and I just realized you guys were two people.
As a child I loved Aladdin one and three. RoJ just kind of got swept under the rug, for no apparent reason. Only now I know why I never considered part two as a part of the movie franchise. Plus as a kid living in a single-income large family just made me want the hand of midus, and what kid doesn't whish to be a prince/princess... Thank you Robin, for your works, and for making adults and children around the world laugh over and over again. Seriously, repeated Aladdin back to back a few times as a kid. And thanks CBro's for highlighting this, because this role deserved an honorable mention at least. You guys are awesome.
I have a question, how do muggle borns pay for hogwarts? I mean you would have to use wizarding money to pay for the books and stuff, but if you are muggle born and had no idea about the wizard of world, how would you pay for the books? It would be unfair if muggle borns got their books for free but its also unfair they can't go to hogwarts because they had no idea they needed money from this new world.... please someone help!
Guacamoli ! You can exchange muugle money for Galleons, Knuts and Sickles at Gringotts. (Correct me if I'm wrong but it is mentioned in one of the books with Hermione's parents)
Its definitely mentioned in one of the books, it may be the 2nd or 3rd, that they can exchange muggle money for wizard money.
Abbie Carleton it was in the 2nd book if my memory is not failing me
Lindsay Pinto in book two when Harry is with the Weasleys and the Grangers in Gringotts, Arthur gets excited because he see the Grangers exchanging Muggle money.
Guacamoli ! In the second book (or somewhere between 1-3) it was mentioned that you could exchange pounds (or any currency) for wizard money at Gringots bank.
1:27 Me: Jodi Benson... Paige O’Hara
Lol I’ve memorized all the princesses’ voice actresses.
Also my favorite voice actress is Jodi Benson (Ariel) and my favorite voice actor is Robin Williams.
RIP Robin Williams
My favorite is Frank Welker. He has such an amazing talent voicing so many non-human characters such as Scooby Doo, Abu from Aladdin, Soundwave from Transformers and even Nibbler from Futurama!
Kinda strange that it almost wasn’t, cause they designed Genie especially for him
Just showed your channel to a couple of Disney fans and potter heads in my class btw love the work keep it up
Friend...Like...meeee 🎼
I can't believe you didn't even mention his role in Fern Gully that same year Aladdin came out. I remember loving his performance in that as well. His character was so similar and funny and yet it seems to have been one of his most forgotten works.
last time i was this early, dinosaurs were still around! 🙊👍
I feel like I was cheated of the amazingness of Robin Williams as Genie as a kid, because I only saw the movie in Swedish. I still loved it, but now as an adult watching it in English, it's just obviously so much better with the original voice actor(s). That's always the case, but especially for this one.
Yes actually the same thoughts about the voice acting parts👍
THE EARLIEST I HAVE EVER BEEN TO A SUPER CARLIN BROTHER VIDEO!!! (I know it's not that early but hey the first day it was uploaded so YAY)
As long as there voice fits into the vole nicely I don't really care what the voice actor is.
Are we going to pretend like Robin didn't voice Batty in Ferngully? Because that was magical and that along with Tone Loc & Tim Curry(!!!!) are the only reason I rewatched that movie a million times.
I have absolutely no clue who any Disney voice actors are as I am a native German and watched them all with German voice over... so I think marketing the movies based on the voice actors is irrelevant if you look at non English speaking countries...
Williams will always be the best man to have ever lived and is why out of all the celebs I have loved who have died, he's the only one I cried for.
So, any chance of Dreamworks theories?
Please, I want to see DreamWorks theories. There are so many that needs to be point out
My favourite Disney voice actor is Eva Gabor. She had a timeless classiness that her characters adopted. She voices Duchess from The Aristocats, and Miss Bianca from The Rescuers.
I would wish for Rodin William To come back
You can't do that. Genie said so
Kris Rhood the to go back in time for him
Robin Williams kinda took the immersion out of it. The genie too with all the references
Some.........BODY ONCE TOLD ME
Charlotte Rooney the world was gonna roll me
Charlotte Rooney I ain't the sharpest tool
Derd 17 in the shed
She was looking kinda dumb
SuperKiobi13 with her
Super Carlin Brothers makes me smile every day.
Never clicked on a video so fast!
To me personally, I think Robin Williams was an exception. There are so many incredibly talented voice actors who can’t get animated film roles because studios demand marketable names to attach to the project, even if they aren’t great at voice work. To me, I think if you’re going to cast a big-name actor for VA, it should be because they bring something incredibly unique and valuable to the project, like Robin Williams did for the Genie.
I think Pixar is the only animation studio who really knows how to cast Hollywood performers, where just by looking at Toy Story and Finding Nemo, all of the well-known on-screen actors who voice major roles are distinctive and perfect fits. I think Tom Hanks’ performance as Woody and Albert Brooks’ performance as Marlin were crucial for making those characters likable, and that’s great casting.
Ok, so i think that it shouldnt matter if the voice actor in a movie is famous or not, as long as they portray the part good. Also, probably one of my favorite disney voice actors is the guy who voiced Flynn Ryder in Rapunzel. Idk his name, but i thought he did great!
I think big name actors should only matter when, as was the case with Robin Williams and the Genie, the actor is a true fit for the character. One who really brings the character to life to the point where it's impossible to imagine anyone else voicing them.
But then again I'm also the person who doesn't even care at all who the actor is for anything. I only care about the character and the story.
**j starts talking about shrek**
me: someBODY-
