Candle looks great! Gave it a go and I'm finding when I add the dye some wax beads are darker than others no matter how much I mix it. What would you recommend to get that even colour?

Hi Nat, I’m not sure if there is anything you can do differently. I’ve not noticed that problem. Do you sit it in a bowl or plastic bag? As we do ours in a bag we ‘smoosh’ the colour in so perhaps that makes a difference

Great demo! I haven't used this wax before. If I've got a partly used soy candle with a "crater" in the center (say from a short burn period), and concerned about drowning the wick on the next lighting, can I use this palm wax / sand wax in the crater of the soy candle with the existing wick until the candle balances out again with a more time lengthy use?

not really. It's a different wax so has different burn properties and temperatures. It will just burn the palm wax away then continue tunnelling. Get a long neck lighter and melt the higher ring of wax and tip the excess melted wax into the bin. Keep doing this until your surface is more even out and you do not have so much of a hole. You can also try the al-foil hack which is the ONLY time i would ever use this. If the candle was made with the correct wick even a short burn time should not cause it to tunnel.

@@aussiecandlesupplies Thanks. I'll look into your suggestions, and I also expect to buy this fun palm wax from you as well. Cheers

How long did you leave the colored wax to stand so that it is not as wet and just as fine as before?

Leave it for a couple of days. this will help the wax absorb as much as possible

About how much FO did you use? I’ve seen other maker use the recommended amount and the wax doesn’t stay as loose as yours.

Use the same amount you would in a candle as you are still burning it. Around 6-8%
