Jimmy has got it right. Save your body in the reg season, don’t go for individual awards, do enough to make the playoffs and then flick the switch on. He knows the biggest prize in basketball is the ring. The seed you finish in the reg season doesn’t mean as much as people think, you gonna meet the top teams eventually if you want to go all the way. That natural competitiveness Jimmy possesses allows him to reach his peak level when the stakes are higher

Toughness and leadership are a given, but the mental edge he gains over his competitors due to his complete lack of fear of failure is unmatched. There are countless players who are far more talented than Jimmy Butler (and he'll be the first to say so), but their performance is often hindered because their fear of failure is bigger than their desire for success. Jimmy has always been an underdog, and he knows that success will never be the most likely result for him. He knows his game, he understands what his strong spots and his areas of shortcomings are, and makes sure to weaponize the former almost exclusively.
Talent rules everything, and he'll always get beat in the end, but he's the hero the purists deserve
