I’m from Australia and yes we did have a bad flu season! And yes it does travel it’s a virus
I’m from the uk and the flu has hit me hard this year!✨
Wow my mom sent me to school with pneumonia (this is what happens when your mom is a nurse lol) and there was no one to pick me up because she and my dad worked rotating shifts and I had to sit at the principal’s office all day in a coughing fit. The teachers had to close their doors because I was so loud. I hope Katie knows how lucky she is to be taken to school late, picked up if she doesn’t feel well AND have food taken. To everyone saying she’s always sick- She’s more likely to get sick now because of how mono affects the spleen.
Also doctors come to work regardless of how sick they are and drag IV poles if necessary. There is no one to cover. There is a saying- we better be rounding with you or on you, ie, you’d better be so sick that you’re in the hospital if you’re not there. So if that’s still what she wants to do it’s a good thing if she’s tough
Traci Provins my moms a nurse too. Had strep throat so bad I couldn’t go to school for 48 hours. Usually its 24 hours after antibiotics. My mom at first:”your fine”. Then last year also had pneumonia. My mom: “your fine”. Then ended up needing an iv for antibiotics. In her defense i got pneumonia after being on antibiotics for an ear/sinus infection. Weird ik

My parents are both nurses. I was sick for 2 months before they decided to take me to the doctor, now I’ve been sick for 6 months 😂
Traci Provins I’m sorry that happened to you, I know you had to have been miserable. I’m going through my 2nd setback of pneumonia and feel like I’m dying! That says a lot because I was born sick, and I’m very tough, but this has kicked my butt hard! My mom is not the motherly type and never should’ve had kids, no matter how sick I was she forced me to go to school. There were times I was so sick that once I got to school the nurse would automatically call home, and ask who in their right mind would send such a sick child to school. It certainly wasn’t easy growing up with that kind of mom, so I hope Katie realizes how lucky she is.

This is coming from a 42 year old woman that wishes she could’ve done the same at your age, trust me if you don’t allow yourself to have a little fun you’ll grow up regretting it in the end. They have day quill and night quill in pill form cause that’s what I take if I am sick cause I can’t stand the liquid. I have found it at Kroger’s and meijer. Not sure if u have either store close. But make sure to check around there is a such thing I promise.

Sorry Katie but your mom is right....Australia had a terrible flu season and the same pattern travels west to Europe, America etc. Actually I'm in the UK and have missed the last 3 weeks teaching due to influenza A. Doctor said it's a bad sign of things to come the fact I had it so early in the season before flu vaccines were even being administered in my surgery.

New Zealand had worse flu season ever, didn’t help that we never really got a Winter so germs thrived, I wouldn’t be without the flu shot.
i’m from Australia and that’s true about Australia having a bad flu season we had a record number of deaths from the flu season this year (our flu season is May - August/September)
