Proud, one might think! They started with traditional Mongolian instruments and folkmusic, infused Metal and made the results their own. No other metal band out there like them. Unique, in all the world, one might say they've earned respect abroad and have reminded us the World Music scene can be a little Metal, now and again.

I have a whole CD of Mongolian throat-singing and it is literally mind-altering. So when I first heard these guys it was not surprising to me that they took off really quickly. And something about an Asian man dressed like a warrior swinging that hair back and doing those power moves..OH yeah.
Just discovered them, who would have thought Mongolian throat singing and heavy metal would mix so well? I also love the play on their name (The Hu = The Who). The long-haired guy is soooo sexy. I'm 67 and could listen to them (and watch them) all day. Fantastic!!!
Nope the name The Hu doesn't mean "The Who", it translates to the Mongolian root word for human being :)

Though, to be fair, a lot of Pop pseudo-artists and one-hit wonders have proven that wrong already (Justin Bieber was a YT sensation for some time before releasing an album. I don't know if Soulja Boy ever released an actual album; just singles ). That said, The Hu are the first non-Pop and pre-album group I've personally heard of that have been as popular as they are.

When I heard Hu's wolf totem...I felt like a wolf myself ... elevated and ready ... for the world...

So often, when a group decides to mix folk instruments and styles with modern electric instruments they fail to properly integrate the two types into a cohesive band. I think the HU has done it really, really well. Really love their songs!
Now i want to learn the language. This band is awesome. They speak to my soul.

OMG...the first time this grandma heard these guys (Wolf Totem) I was totally hooked!! This is exactly what needed to be added to the metal genre. Love their perfect style too. Can't wait to see you guys in Pittsburgh, Pa USA. The Hu is my new favorite "turn the volume AAAAALLLLLLL the way up" metal band!! I think I may have turned my "country music" listening kids into Hu metalheads too. Love you guys, you're awesome!!

I discovered The Hu cus of my friend got Mongolian throat singing from his recomendations and as we went down the rabbit hole we discovered 3 bands, The hu, Nine Treasures and Hanggai
I did too I got a recommendation based on what I already was listening to anyway and it went on from there hooked at first listen and I'm not crawling out of the rabbit hole anytime soon either.

The last concert I went to was in Las Vegas to see Madison Rising (before they fired the best member of the band, lead singer @DaveBrayUSA)!! I don’t hear too much about them anymore but I do keep up with @DaveBrayUSA. Now I have another metal band to follow, The Hu!! Haven’t been this excited about a band since Rob Zombie!! Mulan, if she existed as a real person, was from the Northern Wei Dynasty, which was a non-Han kingdom of the Xianbei, not Han Chinese. The Xianbei were ancient nomadic tribes related to and were possible ancestors of the Mongols.
I may have heard all of 3 songs by The Hu so far, but I already love the rolling intensity (the best way I can describe it) of their sound. It's watching and listening a band of Mongols charging into war from afar.
I can see them being very popular in Europe with the Northern Euro metal/ rock fans and with a cult following in the US for those of us who like that similar sound.
FlyingDwarfman i feel like they will have same path as nightwish. Very loyal fans in scandinavian countries and devoted cult fans in usa etc
