SCIMO: Dynamic Ambient Home Theater Lighting

This SCIMO unit is running off a 4x2 Active HDMI matrix. One of the output goes the video sink (tv/display) the second is converted into S-Video via an adapter and feeds the video signal into the SCIMO which samples the screen's average colors close to the edge in hundreds of zones (one zone per LED) and then drives the digital LED strips affixed the rear of the display.

I plan on upgrading my TV for a 4k display. Do I need an hdmi splitter that will support hdcp 2.2 as well as the s-video converter for my scimo unit to work (just got it in the mail)? Excuse my ignorance i'm a newbie. Also my main unit is an xbox one as I dont need cable tv.
