    I just picked up a set of these for my 12' 4R. I've tried 3 brands of LEDs and cannot find a set that will fit allowing the dust cover to be installed on the low beam and with the high beams i couldn't even get the bulb into the housing to seat in the lens.
    The 12' 4R version of the PRO is vastly different than the 13' onward.
    I'll be sending them back and contemplating the LUXX version at 250$ more.
    My stock headlights with Auxbeam LEDs are great actually. I was just hoping for a headlight with a DRL as I'm moving back to canada and they do look really good.

    The bulb ring rotates so you can adjust the light beam for projector lights .. Its a good feature

    • @OverlandEngineer

      Yeah I have realized that now after learning more about lighting setups. But it seems that most headlights are standardized so I feel like they could make it fixed for orientation. I suppose though these bulbs are more of a universal option.

      I does look really harsh in the video but I don't really notice. The switch back signals are like mini fog lights on the sides. They do a great job of lighting that up and I sometimes feel bad how much they shine in people's mirrors. So if you are worried about the cut off then get the switch backs probably. I never feel like the light is not throwing far enough into the ditch. If it ever really worries me, I have ditch lights and fog lights to kick in haha.

    Hey Zack. I was watching your video and TRD JON’s about these headlights. I decided to go your route with the Lasfit Pro Series. Apparently Lasfit changed the design of the bulb. First the locking ring for the bulb comes off when in a certain position. Of course it’s the position I need it to be for 3/9 and the bulb comes off. When I actually get them in I cannot get the cover on!
    Also on your high and low beam is the bulb position different? On the low beam it’s not positioned to get the bulb facing 3/9. So you have to run a adjustable bulb. Other than the Lasfit’s do you have any idea what adjustable H7 LED bulb will fit? Thanks…👍

    • @OverlandEngineer
      @OverlandEngineer  2 года назад

      Hmm, I wonder if they saw my video and tweak their design so it wouldn't work...I think the lower performance LASFIT bulbs in the description will fit super easily if its just a cap clearance thing.

    • @WOLFN8TR
      @WOLFN8TR 2 года назад

      @@OverlandEngineer ya it’s possible as your LED’s appear to be adjustable without the locking ring coming off. I will look into the other Lasfit bulb’s. I tried to send you a message on the Toyota 4Runner Forum with some photos but it wouldn’t allow it to be sent. Thanks…

      @OverlandEngineer  2 года назад

      Are you trying to use the alpharex or stock housing? That is probably the first question to see if they use the same type of bulb (H7) then fitting will just require knowing space inside the housing from a engineering design sheet or just pulling the headlight and measuring it if it is not accessable. LASFIT makes a bulb that fits it is just a matter of which one haha. They have everything.

    • @OverlandEngineer
      @OverlandEngineer  3 года назад +2

      Yeah thats a good point. I could have provided some more of the technical detail. I just never know how much of that people want to listen to you know!
      Being that my previous LASFIT low beams were higher wattage I figured the headlights were not in electrical danger though I haven't officially tested it. It would have been good practice to see what voltage was being delivered to the headlight through the harness. The bulbs are H7 for the low and high beam. The signal is the same size as the factory signal bulb.
      It should be fairly straight forward to test current and voltage output of the harness with a multimeter and known resistor.
      While I have an engineering background I am not a professional engineer so I cannot give official advice. I hope to inspire people with build ideas where they can do the important research and then do the project themselves. Hopefully I provide some helpful info along the way.

Would've really liked more output from true 72W bulbs I was expecting MUCH higher quality. These bulbs do * fit the housing, but wont close * and in order for the dust-cap to close, the light has to be wedged... throwing the light off a little bit. The setup is a bit of a pITA too.
