Thanks as always! We can't wait to meet you guys as well. We'll be all over the place so we should be easy to find! If not, zap me an email and I'll give you our site.
Sam Rayburn, who the congressional building was named for, was from my home state of Texas. He holds the record for the longest running Speaker of the House and held this job during World War 2. Sorry we are going to miss you all at the rally. Say hello to my sister and brother in law who I am sure you will run into.
Thanks for watching! I've come across Speaker Rayburn's name many times in my readings about the Manhattan Project, the Civilian Conservations Corps, and many other critical moments in our history. Very interesting. We'll look forward to saying Hello to your sister and brother in-law.
Our politics are indeed different in Vermont. Even in a very liberal state, our Republican Governor is wildly popular (he races dirt cars on the weekend and our Lt Gov is only a part-time position). Both the Democratic controlled Senate and House work with him and amongst themselves in a respectful manner to compromise for what they believe is best for Vermonters. We visited the State House recently and there is zero security. No metal detectors or anything - we opened the door and walked in. So different...
Thanks for your glimpse of Washington DC and Ethan Allen! BTW, we probably passed each other going opposite directions some time last week. We went from South Dakota to Michigan the same time you were driving west. Have fun at the rally!
Looking forward to meeting you and Lady “C” at the rally!

Currently in Grand Teton and on our way to the rally. Hope to see you there.
Thanks for watching! We hope to go to the Tetons on the way home. We'll look forward to seeing you guys soon.
The Smithsonian Air and Space annex near Dulles is an amazing place to visit also.
Thanks for watching! It is certainly on my list if only to see the Enola Gay.

Is Vermont the only state with normal representatives? 😂😂😂

Thanks guys! We might have missed each other as we took the more southerly route so that we could experience Route 66.
What a great tour to go on! Have a great rally!
1st one to ❤ your episode.
