    Hey man, I’m looking at getting into Trucking soon and was looking at a few companies close to where I live that have CDL training schools…..I’m looking at CFI, Schneider, Millis Transfer just to name a few…..I’m single no kids and will live in my truck to stack my money and I have no bills except for my cellphone…..just wanted to get your opinion on my situation and is your company Heartland with CFI…..I thought I heard they merged but not sure…..also on the days when you drive long hours what do you do to stay awake? Thanks man hope you can reply back I’m excited to make a better life for myself 👍

      Yep there’s a few companies under Heartland (CFI, Millis Transfer, and Smith). I usually stay out for 4-6 weeks at a time and then go home for around 5 days. You are definitely allowed to stay out for as long as you want though. For driving long hours it really starts with sleep. Personally I’m a Red Bull guy so I’ll usually have 1 a day. While I drive I’ll either listen to music, talk to people on the phone, or listen to those crime podcasts

      @@connorhuntington I’m in Southwest Arkansas in Texarkana…..I forgot that you can build up days off like with your example stay out 6 weeks and then take 6 days off if you want…..I just came across your channel earlier 👍

      Yeah I think it works out better that way. I find it’s easier to make better money the longer I stay out and then it’s nice to come home and actually have time to do stuff, rather than leaving again in 2 days.
      So for your location, you may want to ask about school with Millis Transfer in Alvarado, TX. You’re still able to do your over the road training with Heartland if you like, but it’d be easier than going all the way to AZ

    Heartland does not have red tractors 🤔

    • @connorhuntington
      @connorhuntington  3 дня назад

      They’ve had red internationals for awhile. And then they started taking the CFI trucks and putting the Heartland decals on them. I’ve had this red kenworth for 9 months now

    I actually tried to join with that company and they told me I did not have enough experience even though I have around 9 years experience over the road. Do you get to go home every weekend or is that something that the DM and the planner chooses for you? And what is your start out pay for when you first join?

    • @connorhuntington
      @connorhuntington  6 дней назад

      9 years is plenty so I’m not sure what the issue was there.
      But hometime just depends on what region you drive. If you drive regional they’ll get you home for the weekend (personally I couldn’t make good money on regional though).
      And then your cpm is dependent on 3 things
      - Experience
      - Region you drive (basically how long you’re out for)
      - Hazmat endorsement adds 1¢

      @@connorhuntington I thank you for the information. Yeah honestly when the recruiter had told me I didn't qualify I told him that it didn't make any sense that I had 9 years experience and my record was clean so I really actually didn't understand what was going on. But again I thank you for the information and I will keep trying

      @@connorhuntington Cali Victorville which I know. I think the yard you guys have over there is Fontana

      @connorhuntington  6 дней назад

      We had a yard in Rancho but they sold it. Now we just have a drop yard in San Bernardino. It’s such a mess over there. It’s just too small for all the traffic going through there. I’ll tell you straight up, being from California is why you didn’t get hired

      Well the referrals come in payments of $1000 at a time. But I also get pretty good miles. I hardly ever get pay protection
