Some people say that unforgiven is very "commercial" and shouldn't be played anymore..come on dudes,everyone has to accept that this song is a goddamned MASTERPIECE! 🤘
It's one of the best songs Metallica has ever written, even Dave Mustaine (hope he gets better) has praised it as such.
People need to stop thinking about "selling out", "fake metal", "posers" and all that shit, if it's good music it's good music, regardless of the fact that it's by, say, your favourite Death Metal band or a pop artist

@George Kamil Maybe he meant to say now that James is older, the lyrics of the song hit you harder than before (when they first released the song in 91), mostly because of how he matured and went through alot of stuff throughout his life.

seen a documentary maybe about 25 yrs ago and the solo 'by his own admission' was a challenge for Kirk at the time.
A shame Lars butchered it. He just can’t play properly anymore...
Fun fact: Kirk came up with a different solo at first but everybody hated it, so he improvised and the take later became that song's famous solo
No other solo could be better fitting for this song, BUT The Thing That Should Not Be has my favourite guitar solo of all time
Not Mozart lies. He wanted to do just that and Bob Rock said “fuck no” and made him work his ass to come up with a really meaningful solo. It’s in the documentary of the making of the Black Album

I'm so happy the last happy moment with my dad was to see Metallica at this show, he was a die hard motorhead fan...and was quite happy to introduce him to metallica i.e. Kill them all, and self titled album being his fav's... i didn't tell him enter sandman was gonna be their outdo...his excitement to when he realised they wrote it and not motorhead...best memory
`* he suffered from infections in his legs, arthritis in his neck...yet he'd sing, and headbang to enter sandman in that show like he was 21 (like me )...never seen him so active...R.I.P :-( 3 months on the 12 oct.

Great live performance, one of those songs that gets me in the feels. Ride The Lightning will always be my favourite album personally, but regardless of critique etc it's good to see these guys still touring nowadays. Enjoy them whilst we have them folks, life is a short thing. Peace out 🤘🏻 🎸

I love them ... I have admired them since I was little. I love the whole band and especially James's voice. I would have liked to have been able to hear one of their concerts live, but it is something that will never happen in this life even if it is often said .... never say never .... but I know it will never happen. I will never have this chance .... but it doesn't matter as long as I am there even as an old woman I will always listen to their music. Their music and that of others can help us and make a difference in our life .... thanks Metallica

Look at lars and his emotions there! If anyone says ever again that lars sucks then he should go and make it better. Lars is iconic and recognizable and that's what makes him better then anyone else! Even when I'm playing drums I take something from him to my playing. Lars thank you for being who you are you!

@@thepanther6915 I think 10 years ago Lars' timing was much more worse than today. I also think in this video he destroyed "The Unforgiving" with his stupid fill-ins. It's just too much, especially for a ballade. That's just no good drumming! I love Ulrich but sometimes I get angry when he destroyes good old songs with his silly fill-ins. But it's his own music/drumming. He can do with it what ever he wants. It's fucking Lars Ulrich! ;) If I don't like what he is doing that's my problem. And he knows that! 🤘

3:21 finally, the Hetfield that's been hiding resurfaced briefly. You can see him appear through the eyes and the expression! Love it! His voice has a clipping type of effect now, not raspy like the young James. Its awesome. This was a very good performance.

Typically speaking, Dickinson has had the “better” voice, in terms of technique and sound, but that’s only because James never took singing lessons until the 90’s. I like Hetfield’s voice more than Dickinson’s, but the latter had the better voice overall.
