Great video friend thanks for sharing your experience with us. A little surprised at the mold issue there. Cheers from 2 Canadians 🇨🇦 living in the Yucatan ❤✌️
Every house I’ve been in here has had mold… the other day we had a mushroom growing from our door frame 😂🙈… too funny. But, yeah, lots of expats leave cus of the mold. Hope you had fun yesterday ❤️
Ahh, the mold issue! This is what keeps me up at night. Did we do enough? It's our first time leaving the place and in a few weeks we will know if we survived the mold monster. Mexico, Spain, Italy, three places we have spent extended time in stucco/stone/tile lined homes have taught us that they evaporate differently to wood/sheetrock/plaster/carpeted/fabric filled homes. Proper ventilation is paramount and changes often so you have to have a plan when you leave a home unattended that includes changes in the event of precipitation of any kind. And then you need a minder, someone who will check in regularly to keep an eye on things like plumbing and electricity changes that can throw off your best made plans should the unforeseen happen. Compounding that with rental stress, you made the best choice. Thank you again for such a great video! ta
You described it so accurately 🙈 it’s like a flow to keep things from getting moldy. We’ll see what happens while we are gone this time around. ☺️🤞🏻good luck on your place too!
I don’t know if you gotten back to the States yet. Very curious how it goes on the plane with the most talkative girl in the family 🐈😂. Mine talked A LOT. I snuck him out a couple of times and the fur was flying everywhere 🙄
Have you pre prepared for the trip by just leaving her her travel cage open and making it cozy and maybe a new toy she can only play with while she play’s inside and maybe tiny bit of yummy treats
@@julietschida9114 yes! She’s been jumping in and out but on our trip to the vet she did not sound happy 😂 that video is next… she wasn’t mad at me but she complained the whole walk
I don't blame you at all, I wouldn't have been willing to try it, I feel like your daughter and don't like the idea of anyone else using my stuff. On the mold note, does Mexico sell DampRid or something like it? The person who cleans for you once a week would have to dispose of the full bags and replace them if you will be gone for a long time.
this video stressed me out! I try to keep my life stress free. yes, there are negatives to living out of a suitcase, but you just reminded me of all the benefits! actually though, this week there was some stress - I went without water for almost 24 hours. right now I am in a building in el centro de Guadalajara that has 10 apartments. when my water went off I assumed that it was the whole building and either it would just come back on by itself if it had to do with city construction or at least someone else who was a full time tenant in the building would report it and someone would get it fixed. as I found out the problem was only my apartment. turns out the pump that sends water to the tank on the roof burned out. that was challenging not having water for that long but I survived. I'm considering staying in San Cristobal during the summer months next year. even though GDL is much cooler and less humid than being on the coast, I'm still finding it too hot here most of the time...
I’ve always wanted to invest in an automatic pump (I have to turn mine on), but didn’t think of the cons… thanks for sharing. I have found that living in a house with my out water supply is the best scenario cus I can just call a pipa if I run out. In my old place we would run out all the time.

That’s a good idea, they are not available locally but there’s always Amazon. I have gotten dehumidifier since then too.
